I played through the game with an Engineer. I maxed out Cryo Blast for area, bonus damage and armor weakening. However, the damage and armor weakening effects didn't have any noticeable effect on the more powerful enemies - Banshees in particular. The icy effect didn't appear on them and there wasn't any noticeable increase in damage. Same goes for Cryo's level 5 slow effect. It makes me wonder if these enemies are immune to the effects, in which, why bother evolving Cryo to that level?
Has anyone else noticed this?

Banshees have 50 DR (damage reduce) on every weapon attack ... Cryo 25% armor weakening effect alter this to 50 * (1 - 0.25) = 37.5. So U gain 50 - 37.5 = 12.5 damage vs banshee per shot (provided no other piercing effects are in place(your weapon) ) ... A banshee has about 14k armor HP ...
Evolving it at lvl 6 can get you 50% weakening effect - 50 * (1 - 0.5 ) = 25 .
If you are shooting with smgs or other low damage per shot weapons you are going to notice ...
If you are hitting it with a few k of damage per hit sniper nukes - the piercing effect would be unnoticeable ...
