She looks good. I always associate female Shepards with the main character in a Karen Traviss sci-fi novel called City of Pearl (a bad-ass space cop lady), and her description is very much like the woman in your screenshot.

I should get on that. I've fallen out of touch with science fiction in the last couple years (though Mass Effect is sure helping drive that interest back up).

Actually, most of what I've caught her doing so far is... Judgmental stares.



Sometimes she even gets help!

And some obligatory vanguard violence.





It's the most fun class for me, even if it gets me killed more than any other.

Haha, it's true. Those pauses or silent breaks in the middle of conversations really add something. Sometimes they're not handled quite naturally and you have to guess what one person is thinking of the other.

If you intend to check out City of Pearl I would applaud the effort. I can send you a PM about it. To me it was my first full leap into science-fiction reading, and it had to be with a strong female protagonist in mind...

Here's Mr. Jeremiah Shepard, my first Shepard.

Here's him in Mass Effect 1.  I like to think that losing his family on Mindoir pushed him to become good; the Alliance saved him from becoming a slave, so he wanted to follow the example he was given and help others by becoming a soldier.  This "pay-it-forward" attitude would shine the brightest during the Skyllian Blitz, when he single-handedly held off the batarians during a breach in the Alliance's defenses.  I like to think Shepard did this so Elysium wouldn't have to suffer the same fate as Mindoir.



Here's Jeremy in Mass Effect 2.  He romanced Liara, saved the Council, and made Anderson the human councilor (as all Paragons would do).  He's still the same good guy as he was before, though it's fun to do Renegade interrupts every now and then.



I had to reconstruct Jeremy's face in ME3 since at that time, the game couldn't read the ME2 face code (I just got the patch a few days ago).  Obviously, he doesn't look exactly the same as he did in the first two installments, but my canon for that would be "fighting the Reapers can REALLY take a toll on a man's looks".  Also, gave him a permastubble to symbolize the stress of being the galaxy's only hope.



And there you have it, my Shepard.

Well here is my main Shepard,
Jacob Shepard (BW just had to make a squad mate named Jacob to confuse things) Colonist/Sole Survivor

In ME2 with his one and only LI,





Then came ME3 and BW just had to F*ck up the way my Shep looked, his hair got messed up and could no longer have shades of brown, red, and blonde, it had to be made one color, and then they went and f*cked with my nose MY BIRD BEAK NOSE, WHY? that's like the most recognizable trademark look of me, it's the trademark nose that every dude in my family has and BW had to go and screw with the nose in the game. Oh and then the eyes and beard, don't get me started


If that wasn't enough BW had to go and screw up the color scheme of my ME2 Armor, and make it all f*cked up, just to carter to Halo fans. (if you can't see that then A) you've never played Halo cool, are a blind fool, because in ME3 BW never heard that more is less, they went Halo more is more and is lame) Sorry about the bad pic quality for this armor shot

Yeah.. I know that her eyes are closed in the next two pics, but I just kind of like them. 





She's finally got her glowy eyes of doom.

 Just finish my 1st trilogy playthrough with a femshep... Jen Shep, colonist, ruthless, renegade ------ > paragon

I made up this whole back story given the context of my Shepard's past history where she was ruthless to begin with because how she had lost all her friends and family at a young age as a colonist.  Then as the game progressed and because of the events of the games she had a whole arc from renegade to paragon.  Now some pics:

yep yep, I liked default ginger femshep but I didn't like how the default face seemed so cartoony and out-of-place sometimes. So I basically recreated default femshep
