If you are experimenting difficulty connecting to other players online and your Internet connection is behind a router using NAT (Network Address Translation), you may need to take one of the following steps to attempt fixing your issues:
Xbox 360:
Enable UPNP on your router.
Playstation 3:
Enable UPNP on your router.
Manually open UDP port 3659 and 6000 on your router to allow inbound and outbound traffic.
PC:
Make sure your personal firewall is configured to allow Mass Effect 3 (Demo or Full game) to communicate to the internet.
Enable UPNP on your router.
Manually open UDP port 3659 and 6000 on your router to allow inbound and outbound traffic.
Please consult your router or personal firewall documentation for information on how to allow game related traffic on these ports. If you are attempting to play on a corporate internet connection, contact your network administrator.

So now i'm confused. Of course if perhaps bioware could respond on this or update there fix list...
in anycase Biowares previously stated work arounds (the ones we've all tried and don't work) appear to be in contrast with EAs

Advisor: Hello ******,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts again.
I appreciate your involvement towards resolving the issue. Please follow the below steps to disable UpNP and try to play multiplayer.
To get inside your router and access its control panel:
1. Type the router’s internal IP address into your web browser on a computer on your network (IP addresses are different for each router. For DLink, it's http://192.168.0.1., for Linksys routers it’s http://192.168.1.1, and http://192.168.2.1 for several other brands. Check your router’s manual if none of these work for you.)
2. Click the Tools tab, then the Misc button.
3. Click Disabled next to the UPNP listing.
4. Be sure to click Apply to update the router with this new setting.
We at Electronic Arts appreciate your efforts and involvement in our Games and take this opportunity to express our
gratitude and extend support throughout. Please feel free to get in touch with us anytime. Also, please access our online knowledge base on: http://help.ea.com/

Just putting this up here because it highlights either that EA doesn't know what Bioware is doing or they're just taking a random guess at Novawings case since Bioware says that enabling UPNP should help.
IN either case we still have no response on the issue from bioware (though maybe we should try dissabling our UPNP to test EA and some other Players claims that this will fix it.)

I have managed to log into the game correctly once. As in, the game it connected me correctly upon running it and I didn't have to tell to try again. This is also the only time that From Ashes(and as a CE owner I've had it since day 1) or Resurgence has worked. Even after telling it to connect and it connect the DLC does not work.
Also, tons of MP drops.
I too would appreciate a fix to this.

Me and my friend used to get chain disconnected from BF3 servers and disabling UPNP fixed these (counter-intuative much?) so it wouldnt suprise me if this works too!

i've personally tried it before (only for one round) the round was successful but after re-enabling i also had no issues So at that point i disregarded it as luck (my UPNP has been enabled since that test about 4 weeks ago now and was playing smooth until recently) Furhter Novawing has reported it has not solved his issue completely and even with UPNP disabled he is receiving disconnects again after awhile. So even if it improves the situation for some time. It's not a complete fix unfortunately :/
though i'll let my friend know about the BF 3 thing he's been havign issues with it.
it is still notable that BW's adivce does not agree with EAs for some reason >.> (but i'd still recommend everyone try disablign UPNP just incase it helps even alittle 15 of 20 games is better than 1 of 50) Though this issue remains unsolved.

Disabling UPNP did not help, neither did a multitude of other settings I tried in my router. I've come to the conclusion it is totally random and is a server issue.
- It happens when I've got zero lag late in a game, or same for early in a game.
- It happens when it is laggy as hell in same situation, which is kinda to be expected.
- It happens in the lobby before a game even starts, so it can't be bandwidth related
Probably why they can't be arsed acknowledging as then they'd have to try and fix it.
A friend came around mid-Silver-MP and he was saying it looks pretty nice, perhaps he'll get it for the XBox, then extraction wave - disconnect. hurrah.

Check my signature for PC Win7 maybe some of you it will help.
many of us have tried that incredibly simple solution. In my case at least it made it worse (opening the ports prevented me from logging in at all, and i'm no stranger to port forwarding i run a terraria server from time to time as well as having dealt with hamachi problems sovled by port forwarding. So i'm pretty certain it wasn't user error.)

Well with UPNP
disabled I actually finished my first multiplayer game for the first

we have seen that this does not work for everyone unfortunately. Hopefully in your case it is not just a Fluke, however if it is the case that disabling UPNP fixes the problem (at least for some of us) shame on bioware for stating the opposite of that.
Side note i'm getting damn certain they are just ignoring us at this point unless they really can't read in the Xbox thread too.

I never, ever get disconnected from a game hosted by someone else. Never. Ever.
However. If I host a private game for myself, random disconnects happen all the time. Just like when I micromanage my characters, not being in someone's lobby.
Got to be an issue with something kicking me out of the EA servers. Got to be. Or why don't I disconnect from the player-hosted lobbys and actual mp matches (not hosted by me for me).
Also, lag is practically non-existent. Doesn't leave a lot of choice in my mind as to where the problem lies. Maybe Novawing's got a professional take on this?
On a related note. The Resurgence DLC made Origin a bit mad. Every time I launch ME3, Origin says the game's not installed properly and therefore will not launch. Which it, of course, does. Neatly. Every time.
I do remember reading somewhere that Origin actually is not Windows 7 compatible. Or at least some version wasn't. If that's true... well, just top marks from me. I really like the tought of being (figuratively speaking, of course, it's not they send a Blood Pack team to "negotiate") manhandled into using software that's never supposed to work on my computer anyway.

wait wait wait... origin is not windows 7 compatible? how does that work. I mean what ... if that's i'm going to go cry now.
Well it is Windows 7 compatible according to the Origin website. Personally I think the problem with Origin is that it's still in Beta (Well at least the latest version I have says it is) Thankfully I've yet to experience any issues with the Origin program itself.

This just started happening to me this week. Getting disconnected from every single game now. Is it the same for everybody in that everything works perfectly then suddenly it becomes unplayable? Nothing about my connection has changed so it must be a fault EA's side.
yes this is the same situation we all experience, everythings working fine we discconnect then were' immediately reconnected to the Servers.

IF YOUR NOT GOING TO GIVE ME CREDIT FOR WHAT I EARNED, DON'T TAKE AWAY MY ITEMS FFS!
I've never seen a game so unforgiving, i'm sorry my connection isn't perfect, it occasionally lags for 1-3 seconds and this game just bluntly kicks you for any little tiny bit of lag, its so FRUSTRATING!
My worst disconnect was at 0 seconds on gold, the mission successful screen actually showed up, but overtop came the dreaded pop up window saying connection lost - AND I GOT NO CREDITS

For the last 3 games in a row I have apparently lost connection in the last 30 secs of the final wave on silver. And as people have pointed out - items used up are wasted because absolutely nothing (xp or credits) is awarded.
The matches themselves are fine up to the point it drops - no lag, no stuttering, nothing. Just suddenly everything stops and the dreaded "communicating..." icon appears top left. I've never, EVER seen the game successfully reconnect once this shows up, and yet as soon as it sends me back to the menu - i can join another game straight away, so it obviously reconnects instantly after dropping me.
For god's sake sort it out EA, you're not doing yourselves any favours these days.

Like currently, Origin is telling me I'm not connected to the internet, which is why I'm not posting this right?
Also getting lots of "Mass Effect Server Unavailable", getting kicked for no reason with this error and can't re-connect, which is different again to the "You have lost connection" error.
