After defeating Duncan in the first section of the Fade, I can't exit combat in order to click on the stand thing which I assume takes me to the next area.

I'm completely up to date patch wise.

I've tried reloading multiple times, restarting the game multiple times, reloading with multiple saves earlier in the tower prior to the fade and no matter what, I always get the bug, can't exit combat and can't do anythign to progress in the game as a result.

PLEASE HELP!

I've seen I'm not the only one having this problem, and nowhere has anyone managed to find a fix or work around.

I have something similar. except my character doesn't want to react at all in combat, neither do th other party members. Then in the Fade I just can't move on. The pedestal thing appears, and I can interact with it. But nothing past that point. I can't do anything useful with it. like say...move on with the plot!

Not sure what the problem is..never encountered that myself. I'm on my fifth playthrough. Have you downloaded the bug patches? Maybe it has to do with that?

I've downloaded and installed the 1.01b patch if that is what you mean.

This is probably silly. But, since no one else can come up with anything, I'll suggest it.

*** MILD SPOILER ***

You said you killed Duncan. Did you also kill the two generic Wardens that are there with him? Are you sure they're not sitting behind a pillar or something?

Yeah, I usually kill them first, then Duncan, but I've tried killing them in just about every order to see if it makes a difference.

It doesn't.

Do you have a save before you entered the Fade? Sometimes areas glitch and do you things that lock you in (literally), it's unfortunate but it happens. Happened to me a couple times on different quests, but never here.

I did restart at two different saves before the Fade. No matter where I start from, I always glitch at the same spot and cannot exit combat.

1. Do you have the toolset?

2. Did you fiddle around in it?

Reinstall game (on different hard drive if possible), check system, drivers, antivirus etc.

P.S posting every 1 hour will not help you. They probably won't response anyway so instead of sitting do something to fix it. What could they write you anyway? There might be a billion reasons and possibly its something related to your machine.

I have the toolset.

The only changes to the game have been character head morphs.  The Toolset buggy Single Player directory which breaks the game was removed.

Bioware Customer Service is non-existant.

I did fix this on my own though and here is how, should anyone else have the problem:

I renamed the Bioware file in the My Documents file so that when I started the game it thought I was a new player and created a clean Bioware directory.

I then copied the save files from my old Bioware directory to the new one and reinstalled the official modules only, and copied the character morphs I was using into the override directory.

Once I restarted the game, I reinstalled the official modules only, leaving out any other game modifications and that did the trick.

And are you 100% sure that changing the characters face in the savegame using the toolset doesn't break anything? Because I think there is always a possibility to break something when you mess with it...
