There's not some special screen for this, it's the first page of the level up screen, which you see every time you interact with that system.

You're level 7 and don't get a spec point?

Hmmm...I guess your character just sucks that bad....?

As long as the point is there and unspent you should be able to use it, you don't have to wait until your next level up. Go to your character record page. At the bottom there should be a "Level Up" button, if you have points to spend its clickable. Select that. You should get the screen where you allocate attribute points, but there should be none to spend. On the left side should be the available specializations, with a "1" in the spec point box. If you have no unlocked specializations for your class you can't use your spec point though.

Yes you do. once you click the "+" sign it will be on teh left page of the book. Keep in mind you won't have any specialization to choose unless you have unlocked them. For my first playthrough I hade to wait until level 10 to get my specialization.

It's my first playthrough, and I was hoping to pick up the reaver specialization as a warrior, but I'm already level 9. I'm working on finding the ashes, but I don't think I'm all that close yet. I just bought the berzerker book, and am kinda at a loss as to what to do.

I don't mean to thread-jack but this seemed like a decent place to ask for advice. Can anyone help me out?

You can pick up Reaver during the Urn of Sacred Ashes questline.

well there certainly is not any lvl up option right now. im trying to go find a random battle or something to lvl up im almost at 8 and i'll see if theres a tab on the left then. but right now i definatly have templar ulocked (alistar doesn't have an option for it anymore) and am lvl 7. Theres no 'lvl up' option at all right now, im hoping it will let me spend it nxt lvl, lets see

It will be there next time you level. On the level up screen, you should be able to pick any of the unlocked specializations you have. It is on the left side of the first level up screen.

My first time I decided to do Redcliffe first and I had no idea that it would take so long. I was nearly level 12 I think before I was finally able to choose my first specialization as a champion because I hadn't gotten enough influence with Alistair and I hadn't met Oghren yet. So take heart, you can choose your specializations anytime you level, the only drawback being that you may have wanted to level up some of their abilities earlier.

Any idea of roughly what level that questline is completed at?

You probably don't want to hear this, but at the very end. Keep in mind also that when you unlock a spec, it stays unlocked. So if you don't like what you're required to do to obtain Reaver, you can load an earlier save and still keep the spec.

EDIT: Or are you asking what level you'll be once you finish the Sacred Ashes questline? Um, if you're doing that right now you could possibly level once or twice more before you're done.

I did a bit of research and figured out that the reaver spec was unlocked by pouring the blood in the ashes, but i didn't want to read too much and hit a lot of spoilers.  I have just barely gotten to Denerim (sp?) and bought the berzerker book from the vendor.  I suppose my question is should I use the point on berzerker, and wait til 14 to put a point into reaver, or am I just totally confused?

I'm sorry to thread-jack so much, but I am apparently quite the newb.

Ah, okay. I wasn't sure how much you already knew.

I would personally take Berserker first. The damage bonus is terrific, and if you get it early you can work on taking the subsequent talents in the Berserker tree, which reduce the stamina regeneration penalty.

Also, I'm not sure why, but it seems the Reaver talents have a higher level requirement than Berserker.

Thank you very much.  You've been very helpful, and I'll put that point in 'zerker at my next level.

Just having Allister doesnt' mean you have unlocked templar.  However there are certain specializations that you companions can teach you (templar being one of them).  So talk to them and ask.

As stated once it is unlocked it is permanent.  So you could say buy the ranger book in camp, unlock the specialization and then reload the game before buying the book.  You still have the gold you would have spent, but the specialization will be unlocked.

My question is this: When do you get the second specialization point? I spent one on the Duelist for my Rogue and now its at level 13 and I still don't have a second specialization point to use on the other specializations I've unlocked. I'm hoping that you don't start out with 2 points and I clicked them both on Duelist and lost them now due to some odd bug. (I play on PS3 - if that matters).

You get the 2nd one at 14.

described it better? how? they're right in front of your face the on THE VERY FIRST screen you see when you click on level up.

personally I can't see how anyone not blind couldn't see it.

The specialization thingie is a bit more hidden on the PS3 interface than the PC one. You can also only specialize when you actually lvl up, and not any time you want (as long as you have the spec. point). A bit backwards, but.. that's how the console version roll.

Also, you need to unlock specialisations first. For example, unless you get morrigan to teach you or buy the book that teaches you, no shapeshifter subclass for you! The good news is they're global and permanent. So once you've unlocked it, it's unlocked for all yur games. This can be exploited, by doing things like unlocking the Reaver class (that requires a very naughty act) and then reloading and not doing said naughty act.
