And... what, someone else having more credits than you puts you at a disadvantage, Hiero? It's a randomized reward system. If the store allowed you to buy the items you wanted, both bugs would be a non-issue - players would be entitled to the gear they purchased, and I would have no reason to even consider the exploit as morally permissible. :\\

With regards to banning, I don't think it's helpful to kick someone out for trying to get back the stuff they lost. I agree it's what's likely to happen, but I think if Bioware were even a 'little' better with communicating with players, this wouldn't be a problem.

Case in point, this thread has reached ten pages and nobody's said a word on the issue. Some threads don't even reach page two before someone from Bioware gets involved. I suppose I'm personally just frustrated at their silence.

Edit: Eleven pages now, not ten.

To be perfectly honest, I would cheat in a heartbeat if it weren't for the fact that there's a reason for Bioware/EA to ban over credit hacks and my ability to play DLC-enabled savegames wasn't held for ransom. I absolutely loathe random lockboxes and I've never seen them implemented in a satisfying manner (not even a simple "Oh, you already have this item? Let me give you something else"). I'm not particularly happy that I lose 160k credits to the store bug either, but I'm at least happy that I had the sense not to sink real money into it.

My only issue with advocating an exploit is simply that it will ultimately harm players who do it more than it will help them and it also has the potential to harm people who get involved without being fully aware of the situation (i.e. player joins a PUG, experiences this exploit, goes on to recreate it with his/her friends without ever reading the forums, then comes screaming in here after finding him/herself banned).

Those of us who do not exploit or cheat still have to deal with random unlocks and bugs.

My weapons are fairly poor, and I’m not even that great of a player, so I could definitely use the extra punch from better gear.

Those that don’t cheat or exploit are better players then those that do, our accomplishments no matter how little are at least legit.

Do whatever you want, justify it however you wish, just be prepared to face the possible consequences of your actions.

Well, those who don't certainly have the moral highground, but you're certainly not better players. It depends on why you're playing - if your objective is to get as many credits as you can as quickly and efficiently as you can, the cheaters have you beat - they can get about 45k credits every five minutes or so.

With regard to actual skill, I'm under the impression that anyone attempting the exploit still has to complete the objective - that means that they're still playing Wave 10 on Gold. The difference being that they're skipping the fifteen-twenty minutes it would take to complete the first nine waves.

At the end of the day, the important bit is why you're enjoying the game. I'm pretty happy with my characters, weapons, playstyle, and friends. They all work together to make an experience that I don't get in other games.

Only skimmed through these 11 pages so It's probably already been said, but Bioware has already implemented a cheating system via the cash shop. The fact that it costs money to cheat properly doesn't suddenly make it ok, because the argument I keep seeing is that it will skew the supposedly level playing field, when cash shop has already skewed it. It hasn't been a level playing field since the game launched. People complaining about joining games with others with high-leveled gear really need to take a step back and look at the whole picture.

Now add to the fact that people have been losing hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions, of credits to this bug, not to mention real world cash and the fact that Bioware has been very silent in regards to whether or not these things can even be restored, suddenly people are looking favourably towards methods, while controversial, which can help towards regaining the things they lost.

People are holding an interest in this game now. It's not going to last forever. They want to play it and use the items they've earned now, while they are still interested in the game. This is a way they can do it, although it's still a far cry from quick restoration.

It actually enrages me knowing that you can spend money on these credits, real life money only to have a bug take away said real money.
This should be a priority 1 for Bioware.

The store and the ability to buy packs makes my point all murky, if not flat out invalidates it.
But, I was not talking about their actual skills in the game.
