I own the Collector's Edition. 

I was given 3 pass key codes. 

When I began installing the game, I was asked to install one (1) pass key code - AND one pass key code ONLY.

I installed the pass key code - that gives me me access to "exclusive content" for the collector's edition. Fine, I was happy with that, I got the exclusive stuff.

HERE'S THE FRUSTRATION
The OTHER pass key code was for unlocking the DLC "from Ashes". After I unlocked the pass key code for the exclusive content, I was NOT asked to enter a second pass key code to unlock the DLC "from Ashes". 

So I thought, "OK, maybe the DLC was included in the first pass key code for 'exclusive content', and I will see the mission in my mission journal as I play the game." After 35 hours of playing the game, the mission for the DLC has NOT APPEARED.

So I checked my Mass Effect 3 game profile, apparently it shows the DLC as not unlocked, and that I have to pay an extra $10 to access the DLC.

To those who own the Collector's Edition, did you have the same problem? I thought  the DLC "from Ashes" came FREE with the Collector's Edition. Did I miss something?

It troubles me that you state that you were asked to enter a 'pass key code' when installing, because it makes it sound you're on PC and not the 360. In which case you're in the wrong forum.

It also sounds like you only redeemed the 'Online pass' code and not the dlc one, and if that's the case then 'From Ashes' shouldn't show up.

^ Yes, I am on the 360, and it did ask me to enter a pass code when installing.

And yes, I did enter the "online pass" code. But the 360 did not allow me to enter the other pass code for the DLC "from Ashes" - that is The question and the problem I face at the moment.

So I need someone to show me how I can install the DLC "from Ashes" pass code, AFTER I have started the game
or
how to "reinstall" the game so it can ask me for the pass code for "from Ashes".

If means starting completely over, I don't mind. The game story has replay value for me.

I don't have C/E but I assume they give you a product key? Just type it in "activate code" in the xbox menu.

This will apply to your existing game.

The CE does have a redemption code. As Kill-Joy mentions above that will be one way of doing it. Also check to see if the game has the option to input a code when you're connected to the servers as well (I don't recall as I game offline). Sometimes that can avoid some grief.

Thank you guys for all your input. I appreciate the advice. Each of you encouraged me to "dig deeper" into finding an option to enter additional codes, and I FOUND IT.
MARKETPLACE TAB Here's I found it. At anytime point where I am logged into the game, all I have to do is 1) PRESS the Xbox "guide button" on the middle of my game controller to bring up the Xbox guide.2) Go to the MARKETPLACE TAB3) Select REDEEM CODE4) For other codes ... repeat step 1-3
... and presto, it asks me to enter the 25-character code (pass key codes) for the game.now onto continue to saving the universe ....

Remember to let the DLC download. Make sure it shows up in STORAGE under PREFERENCES. I had a glitch where I downloaded the DLC from the game's interface, and it did not load properly until I deleted and re-downloaded it.
