That line at 1:27 freaked me out. Couldn't understand a word of it, but sounded like TIM. Creepy as hell though.

If you think that's creepy, play the second dream (Tuchanka) and stop before triggering the scene with the child. You can just about hear the sound escalating in amplitude in that video, for that split second. But if you stop at that point, and inch forward, you will hear what sounds like a reaper murmuring. I thought it was harbinger.

/ apologies for repeating myself. It's hard to be heard. For those who mention confirmation bias, note that I posted a thread on this yesterday, before this thread was even up.

Does anyone know if changing the audio levels in game help to hear the voices?

I played on standard TV audio, some people have said playing with a headset helps hear things

Hm.. this is all pretty interesting. I couldn't really hear the whips myself but I think the most telling line is "You are a great protector siha but some things are beyond even you". That right there is enough to be a little skeptical

Also something that i haven't seen pointed out is that when you get closer to the boy you hear Harbinger's growl. I think that in it self is something that can be more than meets the eye (ear?)

I'm going to look into this on my next go around. Did you just stand near the child or did you continue to circle as you listened? I am very interested to see what you found :)

Am I missing something here? In regard to ME1 and the conversation in sick bay after Shepard returns from Eden Prime. What does a Prothean Beacon have to do with indoctrination? Last I remember Protheans are not Reapers.

How do we even know the Protheans made the beacons? it could be that the beacons were made by the Reapers JUST like the Citadel and the Mass Relays.

Do you think lowering any of the audio options might help? I don't have a save early on so I'll have to wait to finish my femshep before replaying ME3, but I am looking forward to testing this out.

Javik says that they created the beacons for the next cycle, I believe.

Because Javik more or less confirms they were of Prothean make and I think we can trust him on that.

I plan on doing some digging on the 2nd (genophage) dream tomorrow, recording results. Anyone know exactly when that dream happens, so I know which save to load from?

Logically, it shouldn't make a difference. But essentially, I walked slowly. I did this to see if I heard any more voices - as in team members - as I approached him. At about five meters, I must have stopped, but then I recall circling around, sort of inching forwards. I think I stepped back, the sound went back to what it was in that video at 1.26. Then i circled around the child, inching forward, and the sound amplifies. It sounds like a reaper, and I thought they used harbinger samples, garbled, mixed up.

Go on mate, find it and record it!

After you finish Tuchanka, you have the scene where shep walks away from wrex/ wreav. Then you are debriefed by hacket. Immediately afterwards, you get a visit from I think Garrus, telling you to get some "shuteye". then the dream. If you trigger the scene because you moved in abruptly, try to back out and reload your latest save. Also please try to move around first, explore the dream, because that's what I did- in case it's material.

PS I also was using a headset. It's a 5.1 which amplifies bass, but I hjonestly don't think that would make a difference,. There is no mistaking that sound.

When I got it it was just after Mordin's sacrifice. I did not have to complete the other tuchanka missions first. After returning to the normandy after talking to Wrex it sent me straight into the dream

It's right after you finish your mission on Tuchanka, where Mordin ugh, "sings" one last time.

Perfect, thanks. I believe I have a save right before the end of that mission, should be able to load it up pretty quickly.

I'll be sure to linger as much as possible, slowly circling in around the kid and such. I was planning on doing it with the third dream tonight, since I have a very convenient save ready, but the third dream force-passes you after a couple minutes.

In the mean time, I'm really hoping someone's able to dig around in the audio files and find the source audio. Would make this a lot easier.

For the record, this entire thing just reeks of confirmation bias, so I'm trying to come in as a skeptic. If I do find anything convincing, I'm going to run it by a few people who are totally uninitiated to see if they hear the same thing, or if we're just chasing ghosts.

Also remember to look for groups of whisps lingering around the level and walk into them, that is another area to hear voices

ok, so I made a video showing some of the whispers I hear in the last dream,
Including this quote:
0:28 "You are a great protector siha but some things are beyond even you"

It kind of makes me sad because it sounds like it is alluding to Shepard dying in the end and losing to the Reapers. I am still holding out hope though that that breath was not her last.

Oh now that one just makes me sad. :crying:

I don't have the PC version, but if someone wouldn't mind sending me an audio dump I'm willing to do some digging.

I do remember hearing an unfamiliar voice whispering "Shepard!" several times, and I think "Don't trust him." I will definitely dig more as soon as I can get some playtime in.

I can only tell you that I heard what I heard, I still suggest that people try this on their own. In dong so we have discovered much more dialogue

I was messing around with the audio files and I ran across the audios of the dreams.
I just clicked here and there and didn't listen to all of them, but there were some really frightening ones.

They are the voices of all your dead friends.
Whoever died in the Series can talk to you there.
So this might especially be interesting with a Save that lost some of the crew in ME2.

I was able to find Kasumis Voice, Samara, Miranda, even DocChackwas (didn't even know she can die). It seems like it even matters where the character died. I found Wrex with a rather generic statement (when he died on virmire) and a really angry one from him, that might play if you cheat on him and kill him instead of releasing the Genophage cure.

People I heared during my playing were mordin (so sad) Ashley and even Legion after Rannoch.
Really, really creepy.

EDIT1: I'll go and have a look, what file that was...
EDIT2: The filename speaks for itself. It's "nordrm_talking_dead_a_D_Int.afc"
There's a tool here somewhere that can extract the AFC files to Oggs.

The one dream that freaks me out is the last one I believe, the one where Shepard is seeing herself with the kid, holding him, both on fire, and Shepard (with the kid) has that subtle smile Illusive Man-style, you know like the smile TIM has at the end of ME2 if you keep the Collector base?

The kind of smile telling you "I got you." ...

Ok so I spent some time fiddling with an audio recording of the dream. The one where people in this thread have been hearing "don't trust him" as Shepard approaches the kid as the dream ends sounds more like one of the following instead:

1. Stop reaper
2. Stop dreaming
3. Stop Shepard

IMO it's no.1. No3 is unlikely, as there is no S-sound in the voice, only an R sound; so it could be either reaper or dreaming.
