I didn't hear anything there, when I heard what I did it was louder and cleared the audio range of the whispers so that you could clearly hear it

Everything else I heard were subtitled, scripted whispered. Shepherd! and "anyone else would have gotten it wrong" and so on. That's about as close as I got.

Guess we'll wait and see if anyone else turns anything up.

This thread was quite good until folk started missing the point, this was not about the voices of the dead squad mates, it was about subliminal whispers, those sounds that were drowned out by other sounds, everyone knows you could hear squad mates and friends, those were bloody obvious.

I'm not missing any points Bare. I'm digging files. When I find the whisper sound effects, those will be here too. My guess is that they're somewhere in the PCCs if anyone is looking.

I do hear something distinguishable from the other voices, but completely incomprehensible. I wouldn't call it an automated voice, it sounds like a man.

It's probably nothing, just someone new that cycles in and out of the other people in the sound sample.

The "don't trust him" in the other video from a few pages back was WAY more distinct.

The PCC archives are the Textures, Models, scripts and map information.

They do not contain audio files.

However, if the Dream sequence map information could be found, and translated, it would tell what sounds were playing when.

From what I've heard, I'm fairly certain the whispers are just "Shepard" layered over and over along with a machine-like synth line that's at a lower volume, track 15  from the wwise file is a good example of this.

I'm still poking around, but I think this is just an effect of human minds, not an actual message. <_<

The people talking are the dead. The whips (I think) represent the fallen, all that you have lost. I did hear some mumbling like "do- tru-t -hi-" though. Nothing clear but it was there. The 'do-' sounded like the 'do' pronounced in 'don't.'

If BioWare are trying to hide something, they wouldn't reveal it via subtitles lol.

Those of you that have the wav files or mp3 you need to boot up wavelab and play around with the EQ and try and cut out some of the noise to see if you can isolate the whispers. There are also a few restoration plugins designed for mastering which one could use. I would like to help if I can.

Sounds like a good idea, someone dropped a link to download all the audio a few posts up, see if you can find anything in there :)

Heh... apparently digging through the audio files isn't welcome around here.

Do you think the whispers could also be tracks 4 - 12 in the wise file layed over eachother and sped up?

While I doubt that they were sped up, I do think they are layered. Possibly added reverb if the engine can do that.

I'll keep looking into other archives, if I don't find much more. I'll have a go at layering them myself and deciding from there.

Also, track 4 from wwise_norhub_streaming.....

005 Unknown Female: It was nothing I couldn't handle
006 Unknown Female: I wanted you to have a normal life, marriage, children, things I could never have.
007 Unknown Female: *sob* Finish this, you promised me.

Those three are definitely Miranda, most likely in the last dream sequence if she ended up dying trying to save her sister, hence the talk about having a normal life. And it it should be just 'You promise me' not 'promised,' which would be what she says to you about finishing the Reapers/Collectors as she is dying?

I think there's nothing more to it than you'll find in the Talking Dead folder. The whispers are just a cluster of whatever you can find there with various volume and engine-side effects on them.

lol that's great. Okay so off topic for a second. If you go to wwise_proear_streaming.afc track 5 is an unused alternate version of An End Once And For All. Just thought I'd share as I really like that one.

Hmm, interesting observations - now I wish I had saves just before the dream sequences. Oh well, I'm on my second playthrough anyway, and so far I think I've only had the first dream sequence. This time I shall pay closer attention.

Heard about this earlier tonight, and listened to the second dream sequence on youtube. I'm pretty sure I heard "Don't trust him Shepard" whispered a few times after you hear a Reaper's BRRRM.

Too circumstantial to say it supports Indoc theory, as I'm still pretty unconvinced about that. But interesting as all hell.

There's the beginnings of some wicked dubstep-ish music in there...

Good luck with the dream audio

A ton of them just whisper 'Shepard' so here's a list of that first. Also they are very very very hard to make out, so sorry that so many are not listed.

014 Unknown Female: Wars can be won or lost in the editing room, and this war needs to be won.
016 Ash : I don't know who you are, not since they got their hands on you.
017 Kasumi? : I always have time for you Commander.
018 Kelly Chambers: Under your leadership we can't fail.
019 Kelly Chambers: Please call me Kelly, it's such an honor to work under you Commander Shepard.
020 Kasumi: I'm the best theif in the business, not the most famous. Need to watch my step to keep it that way.
021 Miranda: I don't have what you do, that fire that makes someone willing to follow you into hell itself.
022 Miranda: I'm still human Shepard, I make mistakes like everyone else.
023 Miranda: It's just a fact. My reflexes, my strength, even my looks, they're all designed to give me an edge, no point in hiding from it.
024 Ash: Whatever you come up with you can count me in.
025 Ash: Now go back and get the lieutenant and get the hell out of here, you know it's the right choice LT
026 Ash: Screw that, I can hold them off. Go back and get Alenko, you know it's the right choice LT.
027 Ash: That won't happen, go get him commander I'll see you all when you get back.
034 Unknown Male? Salarian?: And somewhere deep in the fabric of reality that choice will be remembered for eternity.
035 Same as 034: Thank you Commander, somewhere deep in the fabric reality all actions are recorded and remembered.
036 Same as 034: All I've ever done my entire career is destroy the natural course of the universe.
037 Same as 034: Some souls die in battle, some die in their sleep, and some die for no reason at all.
038 Same as 034: With war on everyone's minds our people are on edge.
039 Mordin: Must counteract sabotage, stop me if you must.
040 Mordin: Someone else might have gotten it wrong.
041 Mordin: Shepard *inhale* excellent timing, good to have you here.
042 Mordin: No appologies, did what was right, hope you do the same if neccessary.
043 Mordin: Wanted you to know I'm willing to do what's neccessary.
044 Mordin: Personal interest negligable, sang a little, multispecies productions for cultural exploration, Gilbert and Sullivan, always had me do the patter songs.
045 Wrex: My people have a saying, seek the enemy of your enemy and you will find a friend.
046 Wrex: I know how this will end but I will not back down, I can't, face me in single combat Shepard, let me die with honor.
047 Wrex: One day there will be payback for all that my people have suffered. One of us will see that day.
049 Wrex: I know what you did...Shepard.
050 Wrex: I should have been this way back on Virmire, but I made the mistake of trusting you, believing you were my friend, I was a fool.
052 Wrex: We're curing the genophage no matter what it takes. Everything my people will ever be depends on it.
057 Eve: Your courage for my people will be remembered. *cough* You won't be alone in your fight.
058 Eve: You just spared our race another genocide commander.
059 Eve: Are you here to kill me?
060 Unknown Male Krogan?: You're picking that thing over us?
061 Grunt: Shepard is my battlemaster he has no match.
062 same as 061 change he to she
063 Grunt: I am Grunt if you are worthy of your command, prove your strenth, and try to destroy me.
064 Garrus: It's so much easier to see the world in black and white, grey, I don't know what do to with grey.
065 Garrus: I got fed up with all the beuracratic crap on the citadel, figured I could do more good on my own.
066 Garrus: I like to expect the worst, there's a small chance I'll be pleasently surprised.
067 Legion: Shepard Commander.
070 Chakwas: I understand, good luck Shepard. I hope we'll see each other again.
071 Chakwas: I watched them die. They were processed, rendered down into some raw genetic paste and pumped through these tubes.
072 Chakwas: I've lived a full life, no regrets. I'd like to see the crew gets the same opportunity.
073 Tali: If we don't think about the needs of the whole crew, people could get hurt, even killed.
074 Zaeed: Won't do any good, hell of a fight Shepard. Should have seen it *dies*
075 Zaeed: Looks like I was the only one to make it out alive.
080 Samara: I'm sorry Shepard. By the justicar's code, there's only one way to save Valair.
081 Samara: Farewell Shepard.
082 Samara: It has reminded me of what is truely important, why I swore I'd lay down my life.
083 Tali: I'm sorry.
084 Cortez?: Welcome aboard Shepard.
085 Cortez?: I just want to know, is the person I'd follow to hell and back still in there? somewhere?
086 Zaeed: I've survived this long watching my own back, no time to worry about anyone else.
087 Zaeed: Good get it out of the way so we can concentrate on being big ****** heroes.
088 Zaeed: You must be Commander Shepard, I hear we have a galaxy to save.
089 Kaiden: I've got a few scratches and dents, I hope they just give me character.
090 Kaiden: That won't happen commander, go get her, I'll see you all when you get back.
091 Kaiden: Belay that, we can handle ourselves, go back and get Williams, it's the right choice and you know it Ash.
092 Kaiden: It's done Commander. Go get Williams and get the **** out of here, it's the right choice and you know it Ash
095 Jacob: I'll march in to whatever hell you want, but not with a fake smile on my face, nothing positive about grinning like an idiot.
096 Jacob: I'ts a **** of a job isn't it Shepard? Being the good guys.
099 Tali: I beg you do not do this, please.
100 Tali: So much space, walls of stone, it's amazing. I wish my friends could see it. I wish Shepard were here.
101 Legion: Shepard Commander.
102 Legion: Does this unit have a soul?
103 Legion: Shepard Commander, the Geth only acted in defence after the creators attacked. Do we deserve death?
104 Legion: Shepard Commander, help us.
105 Legion: Shepard Commander, the Geth do not wish you harm. You are an ally against the heretics and old machines.
108 Thane: Kalihera, mistress of inscrutable depths. I ask forgiveness.
109 Thane: You are a great protector Siha but some things are beyond even you.
110 Thane: It seems there will be no one to mourn me when I die. You're the only friend I've made in 10 years.
111 Thane: Just don't make the same mistake I did, there's always another mission. None of them are an excuse to make yourself an island.

In addition the file wwise_norhub_dreams.afc has the music and sfx for the dream sequences so far the only ones I have discerened voices from are these.
001: Help me
002: definitely a voice but I can't tell what it's saying
003: also a voice, can't tell again

Edit: fixed a few screwups

Interesting. At this point in the month, we're better just dropping all of this speculation until PAX next week, I think. It'll make it more bearable, and we should learn something there if they had anything planned.

Otherwise, it sounds like an amalgamation of all the things you hear in the game, weighing down on your psyche. I have to admit, though, they would be considered creepy songs of oily shadows. That scene is damn creepy on loud at night.

"014 Unknown Female: Wars can be won or lost in the editing room, and this war needs to be won."

This line belongs to Diana Allers.

Also "I always have time for you Commander" I guess belongs to Samara from her ME2 Normandy lines. If not, I am sure I heard that line many times during ME2 playthrough.

Thanks for the list by the way. I was wondering who says what. :D

Well, just before the kid stands up and burns, if you stop just before the scene triggers, the whispers get extremely loud and overpowering.

At this stage, if you simply stand and listen, it's just a bunch of jumbled, indiscernible whispers.

However if you stand long enough, there does seem to be a 'different' sound or line which appears, that almost sounds like an automated voice.

It's virtually impossible to really make out what it's trying to say, but it does sound a little like 'just kill him', 'just shoot him' or 'don't trust him', it could be anything, but it's there.

I don't know if this was what the op was getting at, but I did hear something.

I did record the sounds, I'll put it up if anyone's interested.

I'm interested. Very much so.

Once you were there, did you inch closer, perhaps by circling the kid?

The humanity!

I'm sure those sounds develop into amplified lower pitched murmurs. They sounded like harbinger to me, now you make me doubt myself.
