Yup sounds like they are going to reveal something at pax. What i think happened is that bioware was not ready for the backlash that they got and thats why they had to have ray write that letter to the fans.

Bioware has been planning something from the beginning.

This is the dream, with no music whatsoever. I walked into as many ghosts as possible, went as close to the kid as I dared, then I chased a few more ghosts. Be warned, it's 11 min long.

I heard nothing other than the nondistinct Reaper voice close to the kid at ~8:00

Thank you ever so much KillerHappy. The vid is excactly  what I was after and should be viewed in its entirety, but at about 7.50, that's what I was talking about. Crazy stuff, and that's harbinger's filter there isn't it? You can hear it distinctly.

Has anyone tried reversing the less-human voices that you can hear near the kid? They sound reversed.

If anyone's interested and wants to do some digging, the "ambient" sound effects for the dreamscapes are in a file called "wwise_norhub_dreams.afc", including the background music, the kids' laughter, a lot of the reaper noises etc. Apart from the music most of it's only a few secons long. I believe the soundscape in the dream is just these files layered on top of each other combined with the talking_dead files.

I can't hear any of these "give in" or "killl him" words hidden in these files, but to be fair they're all pretty distorted. A lot of them are just the kid saying "help me" etc, the rest are indistinguishable but actually fit Harbinger's voice pitch*. THAT SAID. They also sound like they've been slowed down a bunch so the pitch may be a result of that and therefore not mean anything at all.

* I swear file 6 actually SAYS Harbinger in his voice, but that might just be my brain trying to hear things that aren't there. I just miss Harbinger :<

EDITED TO ADD: Reversing the files just creates nonsense noise. It's just really distorted, not backwards.

There were quite a few Marauder and Cannibal sounds in there, that I'm sure of. Also heard a Harby-esq voice in there. I think its just a couple of harby's combat quotes from ME2 distorted to make them unintelligible. Quotes like "We are harbinger." "We are your salvation through destruction." and "*something something* ascension". lol.

This means nothing though, it is a "nightmare" after all. So hearing mangled reaper voices and reaper forces sounds doesn't prove anything.

Still don't hear any words in the whispers. Just sounds like gibberish. Would love to be proved wrong though.

Okay, now that one I heard! That was actually surprisingly clear and easy to hear with the volume up. I'm very skeptical about these voices, but I have to admit, that actually sounded like it was saying "Just... give in".

That is god dang creepy. At 6:46 until you move away sounds like freaking demons chanting. There's no human voices at that point, none, just sounds from Hell. And the sound's source is... That child. That leaves me no doubt, that is an indoctrination attempt, and that child is a reaper, probably even Harbinger himself.

Sounded like something at 3:56 & 4:10
At 5:19 I heard "dont trust him"
8:00 something gutteral - also whoever said it sounds like the wisps get angrier the closer you get to the kid is correct, very creepy effect.
9:50 a geth or reaper like sound.

I have a hard time hearing with background noise but put my head between two speakers that were cranked up. lol Dont know if what I heard was just my brain trying to make sense of the noise...

Yeah, good job. Beginning right at 6:46 of this video is what I was hearing. The creepy non-human sounding voices, with the occasional out-loud syllable thrown in. Doesn't sound like it's saying anything, just inhuman chatter. (Though I still think it sounds like the Spacing Guild lol)

I think at around 7:43 you can hear a muffled non distinct voice say shepard, and something else that i really can't tell what it is.

Just curious since it kind of fits in here - on earth leading up to the big boom when your fighting all the reapers I swear I heard whispers of Shepard, sometimes louder then others. It was late at night when I did it the first time everything else here was quiet.

In my playthroughs, the only voices I could make out were Thane's, Legion's, Mordin's, and who I thought was Alenko's. Everything else I couldn't make out.

But I'm going to check out the video posted and see what else I can pick up, since I'm curious.

You know, the moment i got the dream sequence, I KNEW something was up. They wouldn't have such an obvious deviation from the storytelling that they used in the prior two without some narrative purpose.

I wonder if someone could find the sound files used for the shadows? They sound like they're saying something, but with all the background noise it's hard to tell what it is.

While I haven't been able to make out anything for certain, the whispers definitely get the loudest and least human when near the kid. When away from the kid they're fairly quiet and just sound like normal whispering, near the kid they sound really distorted and creepy.
