I just don't understand those people. There is absolutely no excuse for an adept to carry anything else than a pistol.

How about SMGs?

SMGs weigh nothing but they also do nothing, you'd be better of without it in my opinion.

asari vanguard gets away fine carrying a sniper rifle. their stasis or biotic charge is up again by the time they've done reloading, so try the class out before you complain.

It is not just adepts sporting Sniper Rifles. I think people just like the idea of a Sniper Rifle even if it is a clearly sub-optimal choice. Those people are playing for "fun." While I can appreciate that, seeing an Asari Adept join my silver/gold game with a Widow I and a Avenger II (or something similar) makes me cringe. In Silver, I will play it out, but on gold I kick or leave.

Using the lore as a 'build guide' actually helps with this sort of thing.

Case in point? Asari Adepts/Vanguards - give them the Disciple shotgun, which is the weapon of choice for Justicars/Asari Commandos.

Gameplay-wise, it's ultra-light, really accurate, and has a great rate of fire for a shotgun. Perfect for Vanguards, but not too shabby in the hands of an Adept, either.

Same goes for the Phaeston for Turian Sentinels, and the Graal Spike Thrower for Krogan Soldiers - they're surprisingly well-suited to their respective races. It's almost like the game was ....designed that way (perish the thought!)... ;)

I run a Drell adept and I snipe. It's probably the best way to run an adept seeing that adepts don't have the greatest amount of health and shields/barrier. You probably hate th ones that can't shoot worth a damn and are raging about it. Just like people who rage at vanguards who charge/nova.

P.S. IT'S A GAME.

That is literally all I've ever played. I've got hundreds of hours in the ME series and I have not been able to convince myself to play another class.

Damn, we really ARE clones. Or clone.

An Asari Adept with no stasis bubble and a sniper rifle ? Wow.

And for those guardians, you can use throw and headshot them with a pistol. Not significantly slower than using a sniper rifle.

That's exactly what I mean, you expect every asari to fullfil your idea of a asari, ever thought about it that my build works fine, I don't need static targets to be able to hit them?

Oh I forgot I'm not supposed to use a gun am I?

How about we instead not presume to dictate how classes are played, so long as they're effective?

Really.. you kill stuff, don't die, and finish the match. It doesn't matter 'how' you do it, and just because there's an Adept on your team doesn't mean they 'must' power spam their little hearts out.

If you're that determined to shove people into designated roles, I'd suggest you only play with friends. Just because you've run across some players with a class/loadout that did badly in a game you played doesn't mean it can't, or shouldn't, be done.

I'm fine with an Asari Adept running around with a lighter sniper rifle. My viper X allows for 200% cooldown. What is the difference between this and running around with a phalanx X?

One of my mates plays a Drell adept and uses the N7 Valiant. I thought he was an idiot at first but he's pulling it off pretty well on Silver actually. When I play my Drell Adept I just go with an SMG so I get my +200% recharge and do just as good as him.

I reckon if we try gold though, I'll be more effective (Not in terms of score).

Hey guys genuine question: Is it bad that my Salarian infiltrator carries only the Disciple? It's been pretty effective so far and I like the style of play. I mean I enable stuff and revive teammates and whatnot but I prefer a lightweight shotgun and spamming Energy Drain around to sniping... I just want to know if this is some kind of faux pas around here...

EDIT: I let my secret out didn't I...

If we won i wont complain the problem here is they were like dont even know/remember to statis phantom or too busy sniping Atlas. And of course we lost, swarmed by phantoms. PS: I was playing Salarian Engineer

Everybody is taking this game waaay too seriously.  Stats, builds, classes, genders, they're getting really stupid about it. How may people do you see that can just go play bronze & have a good time?  Not too many, it's all about GOLD. Everything you mention is automatically about to GOLD. You can't even mention bronze or silver. If you can't walk through gold all by yourself with a level 1 character then you're a "NOOB" & they give you nothing but crap over it.

It's really better to just play the game, ignore the message boards & turn your mics off & act like you're playing with a bunch of NPC's.

I love it when Asari Adepts join and equip a sniper. I can then rest safely knowing that phantoms, engineers, pyros, hunters, etc. are no match for us. (Provided they know how to use it of course.)

Right, but when our team loses because the Adept couldn't Stasis fast enough due to having a sniper rifle that he/she shouldn't have, he/she is taking away from our fun.

OR learn to use your skillset effectively to deal with any situation..

I actually like that kind of playstyle, these guys won't accept it, they'll expect you to sit in the back with a black widow.

But this works out perfectly fine too, I quite often use this tactic on my quarian infiltrator.

It's a lot more fun then sitting in the back...

What I find fun is actually succeeding ingame. If I wanted screw around I would do it with frriends. If by fun you mean trolling, then I can see your point.

Who cares in succeeding... you win some, you lose some Image IPB If some gamer is an Adept or Vaguard and has a Mantis or Widow. It's their playstyle, Let them get on with it and stop crying Image IPB

Nah. There's plenty of effective infiltrator builds that don't use a sniper rifle. In fact, my top scoring infiltrator build uses the Carnefix.

Pyros are no match for anybody as long as they know how to grab. But unfortunately most players dont' know how to grab.
