I love it when Asari Adepts join and equip a sniper. I can then rest safely knowing that phantoms, engineers, pyros, hunters, etc. are no match for us. (Provided they know how to use it of course.)

Pyros are no match for anybody as long as they know how to grab. But unfortunately most players dont' know how to grab.

Which is sad because it is the best defense EVUR!

Sadly you are correct. I try to instill that knowledge in people but they fear the fire more then they heed my advice...

Nobody thinks in roleplaying, damnit?

Krogans punch stuff and laugh maniacally while they shout For Tuchanka! with scratchy voice, Quarians place cheating drones and bark bosh'tet, turians carry heavy stuff and look cold and martial and asaris shoot blue stuff and look cute.

This or GTFO!

Im tired of seeing Asari Adept carrying Javelin, Black Widow or any High Caliber Rifle with a scope. Seriously your job is blowing thing up with biotic, immobilizing phantom or hunter not popping head

my adept pops lots of heads.. with a scopless carnifex.

Nothing wrong with that. A Carnifex doesn't weigh that much. Your cooldown should be pretty close to 200% if not 200%. You don't lose your ability to function as a biotic with that weapon. And headshots are just efficent if you're quick.

Carrying a Javelin, Black Widow, etc does impede you from blowing stuff up with biotics.

just sayin' it's still our job

Why in the world would you NOT want an asari adept with a black widow abusing stasis bubble on your team? Either you're seriously overestimating biotic combo damage (esp on gold enemies with armor/shields) or seriously underestimating the black widow in the hands of a skilled headshotter (or actually an unskilled one, since this character is always shooting at stationary targets). That or you're just mad she's getting "your kills".

Because it's horribly ineffecient. Throw/warp, explosions (especially stasis explosions, why waste a stasis to headshot one guy when you can detonate it and freeze 5?), and general support are far more effective.

Besides, biotic explosions scale with the health of the mob, it always takes just two to kill a brute for example.

Um... are you sure?  I've played a human adept to level 20 and this was not my experience.  I found warp/shockwave to be reasonably effective on brutes but never noticed the type of scaling you're talking about.  I presume you're talking about bronze here?

An Asari Adept with no stasis bubble and a sniper rifle ? Wow.

And for those guardians, you can use throw and headshot them with a pistol. Not significantly slower than using a sniper rifle.

That's exactly what I mean, you expect every asari to fullfil your idea of a asari, ever thought about it that my build works fine, I don't need static targets to be able to hit them?

Oh I forgot I'm not supposed to use a gun am I?

Play the way you want. If you're a good player it doesn't really matter how you spec your character.

I'm just a little shocked that people don't use the Asari Adept as I do (pistol + bubble + max warp/throw). Stasis bubble is EXTREMELY useful. Especially against Phantoms. It saved my team countless times.

And warp+throw can pretty much kill everything in one combo and the collateral damage is insane. At the beginning of a round you can spam warp/throw on an atlas and kill a few phantoms/engineers close to it with the explosions. Unfortunately they don't stay close to the Atlas very long, which is why having a 200% cooldown is amazingly handy.

Not to mention that warp/throw can kill enemies who are in cover, or enemies you can't even see.

That is far more useful than sniping.

True, salarians move the eyes maniacally like the hamsters on caffeine they are, drells are there for the general amusement of the other players with their Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus skills and humans carry the snipers, there was once upon a time a country called Russia and a little country boy called Vassily Zaitsev.

...or GTFO!

I appreciate the stasis field ability but I can still one shot a phantom with my Mantis X, extended barrel.

"Part" of your job. Not an insignificant part but still small. Not enough to nerf your biotic ability.

If it isn't gold stop being a baby and just roll with it, if it's gold then it's still not a big deal. You can still use biotic explosions while sniping. You're spamming stasis so you are still controlling enemies. Unless they are in packs of 5 of bigger it's quicker to snipe them. The difference is there is about 1s longer between explosions vs a non-sniper.

power combos do what we call "normalized" damage, meaning they scale with enemy health. So even on the hardest difficulty where enemies have more health, the power combos still do the same % damage to the enemy.

Think we hit on a minor point here.. ;)

I mean seroiusly... powers often beat the pants out of guns, 'and' they're practically auto target! I mean, we can do well enough with guns... but it's hard to beat AoE power spam for sheer survival as everything staggers backwards and lets you shoot them.

I had an asari adept in my gold game using a widow last night. And I was a drell adept. This guy was handicapping the team hard. The guy was bottom of the charts, would die a lot, and apparently couldn't detonate biotic explosions very well. And whenever we were rushed by multiple phantoms, guess who was too busy sniping to use stasis.

Lesson learned. Kick every adept that likes to wield insanely heavy sniper rifles.

So one adept makes you hate all others? Thats not very smart in my opinion. My advice is to play with a few and after that make a decision.

you can play how you want, but don't complain when i kick you from my gold lobby because i value biotic explosions over stasis sniping.

Or, and this is just a thought, you could ask if they would be willing to play a different class and/or character.

Carnifex/Paladin with a scope is nearly as accurate as snipes and can fire much quicker than the Widow/Javelin/Mantis. I tried a sniper once on my Asari Vanguard but found the pistols to be way more efficient and way less taxing on my CDR. Sooner or later, others may discover this too. If you have a mic, offer a friendly suggestion. I've done this a couple times. Like myself, many haven't played other classes than their favorite default and so aren't familiar with CDR importance, carrying one weapon/lite-weapons, spamming powers etc. Use your mic and help educate them.

you say that as if most random players on xbox live use mics.

i mean, some do, but most don't.
