You are Biotic not a damn Sniper

Just because a strategy is unconvetional does not mean it should be unacceptable.

I had an asari adept in my gold game using a widow last night. And I was a drell adept. This guy was handicapping the team hard. The guy was bottom of the charts, would die a lot, and apparently couldn't detonate biotic explosions very well. And whenever we were rushed by multiple phantoms, guess who was too busy sniping to use stasis.
Lesson learned. Kick every adept that likes to wield insanely heavy sniper rifles.
So one adept makes you hate all others? Thats not very smart in my opinion. My advice is to play with a few and after that make a decision.
It's not very smart in my opinion to use an extremely heavy weapon that puts you to less than 20% power (black widow 1 takes me to 11%). Not to mention you also gave up any chance you have at surviving in close range vs mobs. Hello phantoms, good bye asari adept.
I usually like it when I have someone that I can reliably detonate my reave and we can make quick work of everything together. But nope, we have a gimp infiltrator that doesn't have cloak.

Bronze strats belong in bronze. Your smg or assault rifle will do you no good when it's doing no damage in gold. If you want it fixed, ask bioware why armor has to gimp half the weapons so hard on higher difficulties.

I wasn't saying using heavy snipers was a good idea either but occasionally there is a person who can work magic with it.

The sniping Asari Adept is unacceptable not because its unconvetional but because it blows.

Or, and this is just a thought, you could ask if they would be willing to play a different class and/or character.
you say that as if most random players on xbox live use mics.
i mean, some do, but most don't.
Just because they don't have a mic doesn't mean they can't hear you.

However, stasis and sniping using, let's say a Carnifex or Paladin, is a decent strategy if you haven't leveled up your other powers or don't have other biotics on your team to complement the stasis you put down.

I agree that using one of the heaviest weapons in the game with a power-dependent class is foolish and counter productive to the team.

Carnifex and the paladin isn't heavy. In fact, that's the most ideal setup you can ask for. What we're all talking about is someone using something like a widow or black widow.

you put in words what i wanted to say earlier.
sure there are people who can pull off some oddball stuff, but im not going to risk my time investment in the match on the offchance this asari sniper is extremely good at what he does.

For bronze and sometimes silver, I'll screw around and bring a sniper with my adept but when I go gold I switch to my krogan.

Nobody will kick you for bronze/silver. I certainly won't unless you really are terrible. But if anyone shows up in my gold lobbies with retarded builds, I'll point it out and if they don't give a good reason or any reason at all (lack of mic?) then such a person probably won't be staying very long.CzarViktor wrote...

They gave us the choice of which weapons to use and players are still stuck in the mindset that nothing but the original class set-ups will work. What's even the point?

Yeah really this. If its too close to scope it you probably need to use throw on it and/or get the **** away from it, just figure I'd add that.ginja_ninja wrote...
If you want to snipe as an asari, just use a scoped carniflex. You can pop heads AND still have 200% cooldown to spam throw.

Carnifex/Paladin with a scope is nearly as accurate as snipes and can fire much quicker than the Widow/Javelin/Mantis. I tried a sniper once on my Asari Vanguard but found the pistols to be way more efficient and way less taxing on my CDR. Sooner or later, others may discover this too.
If you have a mic, offer a friendly suggestion. I've done this a couple times.
Like myself, many haven't played other classes than their favorite default and so aren't familiar with CDR importance, carrying one weapon/lite-weapons, spamming powers etc.
Use your mic and help educate them.

Bad players just suck. I mean, I play a Turian soldier and I don't use Marksman because I prefer the Vindicator to the Phaeston or the Revenant. I'm still a credit to my team.

I just don't understand those people. There is absolutely no excuse for an adept to carry anything else than a pistol.
Someone's mad they can't get any kills.
Sorry, I'll take my shotgun and SMG while keeping a 180+ recharge rate than listen to someguy telling me I should be using a pistol.
Blame BioWare for making every gun useless. There's only a few guns worth using. Three of them are snipers, two of them are shotguns and one is a pistol. Every assault rifle is garbage and every SMG is garbage.

You would however be able to get off a decent amount more Biotic Explosions with a Predator and thus do more damage. The Mantis isn't incredibly heavy, but the reload speed messes with the rhythm of Warp -> Throw spam.
