Your problem is buying a Sony product, not a bioware/EA product

This. So much this.

Not even a "console war" statement... just truth. PS3 is a great piece of hardware, the graphics are undeniably better than the Xbox-360.... BUT the problem is in the service. Xbox just gets better service, BECAUSE you PAY FOR IT.

Simple really...

Have you EVER placed a screen with and Xbox360 next to screen with a PS3? with the same game?
Or try to compaire the raw data from the two systems.
PS3 is NOT better than an Xbox, they actually are about equal, Xbox graphics are superior, while at the same time the networking capabilities of the PS3 reign supreme.

I'm not sure where you got the impression that PS3 had better grahics...but you got fooled.
And as far as sound quality? Its all the same when you plug in.

Networking capabilities reign supreme on PS3 yet everyone I know that has owned one tells me PSN sucks and lags like crazy compared to LIVE? ... Hmmm interesting ....

I said CAPABILITIES, not  the PSN, thats sonys network. It doesn't run directly off the PS3, it connects to it.

Gotta love the logic that EA/BioWare is deliberately taking steps to alienate and upset a third of their potential playerbase for multiplayer by not including them in weekend events.

Seriously, are you people so devoted to Sony that you refuse to consider that perhaps they are the problem? What possible reason would EA/BioWare have to leave the PS3 players out if the decision was theirs? It's in their best interest as a company to extend as much as they can to all their customers; if they can't do things for the PS3, odds are it's Sony and their policies at fault, not EA/BioWare.

While I personally don't believe it's the cause of this situation, Microsoft has a storied history of paying publishers to withold content from the PS3, even if only for a certain amount of time. Money makes publishers leave PS3 players out of things, and in some cases 360 players, as Sony does this from time to time as well. They just don't do it half as often as Microsoft.

That 100% doesn't make any sense - because it's not Xbox exclusive. PC players have the promo weekends available to them, and there's nobody paying for that.

My opening sentence of that paragraph was me stating I DO NOT think Microsoft moneybags are the source of this problem. Reading is fun.

It's probably a hiccup with the PSN. From what I've seen, developers typically have to fend for themselves with the online infrastructure on PS3. It's why great devs like Valve were able to create cross-platform play for Portal 2, and why lousy devs like Konami had an archaic secondary ID system for Metal Gear Online. Neither of those things would fly on XBL, which is both a good and bad thing.

I don't really see this as a surprise, because the only reason I can see why Mass Effect 2 and 3 even exist on the PS3 platform is because EA enforced it...

When has Microsoft not rubbed exclusivity contracts in everyone's faces before. Adverts for Gears and Halo all state 'EXCLUSIVE TO XBOX'. Sony made sure as many people as possible knew MW3 DLC would be available on PS3 a week earlier than Xbox.

If there was an exclusivity contract that meant you had to have Xbox to take part in events there is no way that MS would keep it quiet.

I have to agree with you. Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft/Segalol?/... Would be bragging all day long and made a long speech on how they want to deliever the best experience to the player blahblahblah.
