Because someone in the writing team probably really likes Liara.

Well in game Thessia was the only one, of the people on the Normandy, who's planet was officially lost. Tuchanka beat the reaper, Rannoch beat them. And with the Krogans help the Turians were at least holding them.

Liara loves attention. If you don't give it to her, she's going to come and take it.

Probably because Palaven hasn't been completely lost cause of the krogan and everyone will rescue Earth, but no one will save Thessia :P

It gave us the rather awesome confrontation between Javik and Liara, so I think I can see past it.

Yet EDI gives you a pouty face for the next two missions or so if you kill of the Geth.

Yeah, that's right. You're next, robo-bimbo. Just fly the damn ship.

Yeah she sort of lost it there. I mean, Shepard and Garrus just watched the exact same things happen to their respective homeworlds and they were still bro-ing it up like usual. Was looking for the "chill pill" option during those scenes.

Liara's the one that obviously took it the hardest. Garrus was upset, but he could deal with it. Shepard could, Ashley, James, etc. could handle the grief of the homeworlds being trashed by the Reapers. Liara was obviously shaken and in shambles over the situation, and she felt guilty (and some responsibility) over the fall of Thessia, and it wasn't her fault. She needed someone to console her.

Plus, Liara's so sweet. She needed the most attention. Facts, bro.

Thessia was hit a lot harder than the other home worlds, so I can understand why she was upset (admittedly some of that was because Thessia wasn't very well-defended).

I like Liara's character but she REALLY feels like one of the writers favorites. I mean she has plot armor to end all plot armor. It sucks when writers pick a favorite character and then push her on us while neglecting others

Because outside of Earth it is the only homeworld we actualy witnessed getting reaped. Neither Tuchanka or Rannock were getting reaped, yeah they had reaper destroyers on them but neither planet had the reapers there in force yet. Sure Palevan was getting reaped as well and we could tell it was bad but we were looking at it from a distance on one of it's moons.

Also as far as Liara goes she is a very sensitive individual overall in contrast to Garrus who has been trained as a soldier his whole life and being that he is from a militarisitic society in general he is going to handle things differently than Liara who is not a trained soldier and therefore has to be handled more delicately.

Shepard was wrecked by the fall of earth, she/he just threw themselves into fixing it to try and distract from it. Garrus had some level of hope due to the Krogan coming in to save the day. Thessia just got omgwtfpwned with no back-up/support.

I disagree. I don't think Thessia was any more "lost" than Palaven, but - if you recall - Garrus got a lot of attention right after Palaven too. Tuchanka and Rannoch were not facing a major invasion force, only a couple Reapers each (scouts and/or sabatuers). The "loss" of Thessia is made to be a big deal because it is also Shepards first "real" failure to do what he set out to do - in fact, I think they did an excellent job - I felt just as furious as Shepard about the whole situation and I felt bad for him, Liara, and just as lost about what to do next (although, I thought Shepard ought to ask Miranda how to find the Illusive Man). Thessia, Earth, and Palaven bear the brunt of the Reaper attack - especially Earth. The Reapers could reasonably be assumed to be hitting the targets they believe to be the most threatening to their continued hegemony.

Yeah, EDI does. It was touch and go for a while on the bridge. "Are you going to unplug me if we have a disagreement?" I was tempted to say "Yes..... That was a joke." if the option was offered. But I don't think EDI would have found it humorous. <_<

Liara is not a hardened soldier like most other people in your squad. Garrus, James, Shepard, and Ashley or Kaiden are all career soldiers and fighters. Liara is really just a civilian asari.

Other than the fact that she was in shambles?

I don't hate Liara, but I did personally want the option to say "Liara, no offense, but you're about the FOURTH person on my team to lose their homeworld, and that doesn't even count the Batarians I personally marooned by the millions. Grow a quad."

Or, to paraphrase Jack, "take your balls out of your purse and kick some ass."

I get the feeling Liara's father would've told her that... possibly head-butted some sense into her too.

Remember, Liara isn't the battle hardened soldier Shepard, Garrus, Ashely, and Vega are. She was a very naive paleontologist when we first met her in ME1. Yes, she has been through a decent portion of the ME1 saga, but she pretty much sat on the sidelines all of ME2 being an information broker until the brief LOTSB dlc. In my opinion, this can be an explanation for her hard reaction to the devastation to her planet. And as other posters have said, Thessia has been completely LOST. This isn't the case with the other planets.

And what about her face ?

ME1
ME2 >>> older
Shadow Broker >>> hotter
ME3 >>> more hotter

One character, 3 new faces since ME1. When people said BW made Ashley hotter in ME3 i agree but what they do with Liara is just fanservice.

Tali rules, period.
