The Reapers landed, looked around. Double-checked their charts to be sure they didn't hit this planet already..then started cleaning up some of the rubble.

Shepard and James get a lot of attention after leaving earth.pomrink wrote...
I mean, its not like everyone elses homeworlds were ravaged or anything right?
Garrus gets a lot of attention after leaving Palavan.
Wrex gets a lot of attention for the whole damn Tuchanka storyline.
Tali gets a lot of attention for the whol damn Rannoch storyline.
Liara gets a lot of attention after leaving Thessia.
I seriously don't get where this idea that Liara gets "too much time" spent on her came from. Yeah, she has a bit more plot relevent dialogue but that's because she's the only crew member who can logically talk about it. Garrus and Tali are potentially dead. Ashley or Kaiden have to be dead. James is a new character and is in any case an "everyman" who has no business talking about intergalactic politics. EDI is just starting to develop a personality, and Javik is a DLC character. So who's left to talk about the crusible and the war with Shepard?

Liara is not a hardened soldier like most other people in your squad. Garrus, James, Shepard, and Ashley or Kaiden are all career soldiers and fighters. Liara is really just a civilian asari.

It's a shame she's the only one squadmate you cant kill after the 3 games.
If it makes you feel better, she dies if you have her with you when Harbinger attacks you and your EMS is low.

Well in game Thessia was the only one, of the people on the Normandy, who's planet was officially lost. Tuchanka beat the reaper, Rannoch beat them. And with the Krogans help the Turians were at least holding them.
Answers question, thread now over.
I disagree. I don't think Thessia was any more "lost" than Palaven, but - if you recall - Garrus got a lot of attention right after Palaven too. Tuchanka and Rannoch were not facing a major invasion force, only a couple Reapers each (scouts and/or sabatuers). The "loss" of Thessia is made to be a big deal because it is also Shepards first "real" failure to do what he set out to do - in fact, I think they did an excellent job - I felt just as furious as Shepard about the whole situation and I felt bad for him, Liara, and just as lost about what to do next (although, I thought Shepard ought to ask Miranda how to find the Illusive Man). Thessia, Earth, and Palaven bear the brunt of the Reaper attack - especially Earth. The Reapers could reasonably be assumed to be hitting the targets they believe to be the most threatening to their continued hegemony.
Garrus got attention after Palevan but he dealt with it by calibrating and plus he had the Primarch there as well so he wasn't the only Turian there to deal with it. Liara just needed a little pick me up from Shepard in which he told the Asari wasn't lost yet and then she realized she could still help Asari refugees using her SB network.

Another thing to note about Liara is that she is only 106 years old. By her race's standards, she's barely an adult. She has not emotionally matured at the same rate or in the same environments as the other crew members.

To people who have lost Garrus and Tali in ME2 : replay it. It's an order.

Thessia was TAKEN, unlike Earth and Palaven.
What do you mean unlike Earth?
That there's a resistance on Earth doesn't change the fact that it fell hard and is currently Reaper property. Only Palaven is different.

I found it odd that she was reduced to a sobbing mess while Garrus took it just like another day at work.
That's because Garrus is a boss. Liara's not. This surprises you?

Nobody cares too much when Tali and the Quarians die either.
Yet EDI gives you a pouty face for the next two missions or so if you kill of the Geth.
Yeah, that's right. You're next, robo-bimbo. Just fly the damn ship.

EDI and Legion (and the geth) should have had more interaction, it was one of the most interesting story aspects I think.

Liara's not a soldier, she's a glorified civilian. She's not used to the amount of death that everyone else is. She's not prepared, I also thought she was being used as a metaphor for the Asari in general, how the defeat completely crushed their spirits.
Tali isn't a soldier too if i remember.
