Yeah well I don't get where this "Asari are a weak culture lol" nonsense came from.
Self assured and arrogant? Sure. But Asari commandos can and do kick ass, to say nothing of their police force and Justicars.
I refuse to believe they're any less capable of forming a resistance than the humans or Batarians.

They formed a resistance on colony worlds.

Yep that's exactly my point, there's no way Thessia doesn't have a resistance to if Earth, Khar'Shan and colonies do.

+1. It all boils down to personality types. Liara is a whiny little b. End of story.

Tali's an admiral, part of the ruling martial body of the Quarians. She's seen combat and lead a team on Halstrom in ME2.

Tali's a soldier.

Tali is an Admiral because of her knowledge of the Geth and it's politically expedient to make her one, not because of her martial prowess as a warrior. Everytime she leads a team it gets shot to hell: Freedom's Progress, Haelstrom, (and the Suicide Mission if you make that mistake). If it wasn't for Shepard constantly saving her, she and her team would be all dead, and she even admits she's a crappy military leader.

I don't say all of that to denegrate her; she's a talented mechanical genius and a great person. But she's a horrible soldier, and she still can't deal with the psychological stresses associated with that very well.

This all leads back to the original statement:

Tali isn't a soldier too if i remember.

Implying that Tali is more stable than Liara is. Liara just cries when she sees the Asari lose.  Tali jumps off of a cliff.

well there are still millions of Asari around the galaxy after Thessia'a lost. In Tali's case she would be literally the only quarian left. So I can sort of understand.

On the Banshee subject, I think we should all be thankful that we weren't put up against a huskified Krogan. THAT would be bat-**** terrifying.

Just ignore it. It's not worth getting wound up over. Liara's the writer's favorite, we all know that. And I like it just fine.^_^

If you paragon interrupt here, she does compose herself and get back to work, though. I think she was entitled to feeling some grief over the loss of her homeworld.

Liara's not a soldier, she's a glorified civilian. She's not used to the amount of death that everyone else is. She's not prepared, I also thought she was being used as a metaphor for the Asari in general, how the defeat completely crushed their spirits.

Tali isn't a soldier too if i remember.

Admiral's daughter is admiral who kills self if geth win. All said Liara handles it rather better than Tali would.

The asari lose their main planet. They still have millions (billions?) of other asari throughout the galaxy.

That's a great deal better than your race going extinct.

Brutes are Turian/Krogan hybrids? Did not know that.

I wish they would've done straight up Krogans. :\\

Meh, I think Liara has every right to be upset, and it's not like everybody else didn't get their turn at being comforted.
She's also the only Asari on the ship. Sure, Garrus is the only Turian for the most part, but then Palaven is the only major world that's making the Reapers bleed for every inch they take.

Thank you. I needed that. *asari on Citadel with Javik*

Still, if Liara is insulted one more time, I will find you, and I will tell you to stop.

Immediately.

Hate to say this, but Thessia had it coming. What with hiding a Prothean beacon the asari councilor knew about >.> Even with Shep hounding her about the reapers/ importance of the beacons for 3 years.

It was realistic when something like this happens some people just forget that there are other people out there suffering. It was kind of selfish of her but also realistic. It would have been cool if you could have said, "Ah we all have gone through this now suck it up" though.

This I do agree with. I could tell as soon as Tevos was sitting on the sidelines that Thessia would eventually get Reap'd hardcore.

Laria's whole role in that mission made me mad. She was on Mars when they hit Earth and saw first hand what the reapers are doing to Palaven and all she does is give a small gasp and moves on.

At one part she even says the Alliance should have sent air support. The Alliance that has already lost their home world and is building the only thing that might stop the reapers.

*gag* I almost kicked Liara in the throat when she said that. Sure, Liara, we'll just pull valuable air assets from the fleets guarding the Crucible to make sure little ol' you is satisfied. Not like it's our final hope or anything...

Because if I didn't show the proper amount of sympathy, Liara might hit me with a biotic field so strong, what was left of me would barely fill a coffee cup?

Liara's the one that obviously took it the hardest. Garrus was upset, but he could deal with it. Shepard could, Ashley, James, etc. could handle the grief of the homeworlds being trashed by the Reapers. Liara was obviously shaken and in shambles over the situation, and she felt guilty (and some responsibility) over the fall of Thessia, and it wasn't her fault. She needed someone to console her.

Plus, Liara's so sweet. She needed the most attention. Facts, bro.

What gets me is that after thousands of years of playing with the beacon to get, and stay ahead, of all the other races they never stumbled across this message "Just so you know, the race of machine gods that slaughtered us is on their way back, here are the blue prints for a superweapon we think can take them out. Best if you start early."

If the beacon had pre-dated the reaper threat and not recognised them then fair enough (sort of), but it knows all about them and can even smell indoctrinated folk at a distance. Asari researchers... not very thorough.
