It's one thing to be upset about something. But it just seems like Liara acts like she's the only one who this has happened to. Especially with the Banshees. And she's not just a civilian whose never experienced this stuff before. She's the Shadow Broker for heaven's sake and she's been facing husks and marauders all game. She's been fighting with you for years.

I guess I'm not so much annoyed with comforting Liara as I am with everyone telling me to talk to her and acting like this is much worse than everything else. No one said a thing when Thane died. No one cares if the Quarian race is wiped out. Hell, Shepard probably feels pretty awful about failing on Thessia and yet no one has a word of comfort for her/him.

Maybe I'd feel worse if the Asari hadn't been ****s the entire game. Basically giving me the finger about coming to the summit, not caring about the rest of the galaxy so they can take care of themselves, withholding a prothean beacon to gain more power.

I mean I still feel bad, but I definitely cared more about Palaven and Earth.

If find it somewhat amusing that Protheans spent vast amounts of time and resources carefully guiding humans and Asari, and not one of them thought to make sure the beacons were readable to them with readily available ciphers that don't risk frying their brains.

The Normandy's shielding can only take so much butthurt at a time, or else plasma vents into the engineering section and vaporizes the crew. If Shepard allows the VS onto the Normandy, it becomes too much for the ship to take and endangers everyone.

Tali lives in the engineering section. Do you want Tali to be vaporized? Why do you hate Tali?

"The asari homeworld has been called the "crown jewel of the galaxy," the "apex of democracy," and the "beating heart of galactic love." Its republics have a remarkably low incidence of war, disease, violent crime or famine" http://masseffect.wi...om/wiki/Thessia

Maybe this is one of the reasons losing Thessia is considered a big deal?

If you paragon interrupt here, she does compose herself and get back to work, though. I think she was entitled to feeling some grief over the loss of her homeworld.

Indeed. That was never in question. Just that she goes on about it for the entire mission and afterwards as well. I was just pointing out that it was kind of annoying. I do love Liara, though, don't get me wrong. Her romance was the best one in ME3 hands down.

I hate the fact than Tali is the only squadmate who can die in two of 3 games and Liara never die. It's not fair.

Truth is, she said a lot of times how sorry she is for earth. Yet she wasn't there.
Fact is, she wanted to console Garrus, but he refused. Garrus is hardcore, he can take it. She even tells you something about the burning mountains. It's not like she isn't interested in the fate of Palavan at all...
And of course don't ignore the fact that Shepard brought the Krogans to Palavan.

Quarians lost their planet 300 years ago. If they hadn't had this bright idea of going to war, while the Reapers are coming, they wouldn't have lost anything at all.
The only race who was ****ed, were the Geth. And please don't tell me Legion should have had the same reaction like Liara. <- LoL'd at that thought.

I'm only upset I couldn't hug Wrex, because he is sexy beast.

Truth is, she was sorry for everyone, but witnessing how your planet gets ripped apart first hand, is a completely different story. And there would be no one coming to save Thessia.

Thessia is lost, destroy, pwnd.
If you didn't understand the mission. ^^

Actually Kaidan/Ashley can die two out of three games too. But I agree with your point.

Hate to say this, but Thessia had it coming. What with hiding a Prothean beacon the asari councilor knew about >.> Even with Shep hounding her about the reapers/ importance of the beacons for 3 years.

This I do agree with. I could tell as soon as Tevos was sitting on the sidelines that Thessia would eventually get Reap'd hardcore.

What gets me is that after thousands of years of playing with the beacon to get, and stay ahead, of all the other races they never stumbled across this message "Just so you know, the race of machine gods that slaughtered us is on their way back, here are the blue prints for a superweapon we think can take them out. Best if you start early."

If the beacon had pre-dated the reaper threat and not recognised them then fair enough (sort of), but it knows all about them and can even smell indoctrinated folk at a distance. Asari researchers... not very thorough.

Who's to say that it didn't and they just didn't believe it.  Shoot even after Saren no one believed.  The Asari had gotten arrogant  and they payed for it.

Because Garrus is manly, and nobody really seems to care about Shepard's feelings ever. Nobody likes Vega, Ashley/Kaiden whine too much, etc...

Yeah, it does suck that of all the squaddies, Tali's the one who can emo herself to death and Liara just runs to her room and slams the door shut behind her. I could have sworn I heard this from her room before I walked in:

im pretty sure the game at least implies that there's no resistance at all left on Thessia. It went completely dark.

I find that ridiculous.
Earth can form a resistance with a bunch of teachers and farmers, and people who can flay you alive at 20 paces with their minds just flat out die instantly?

When you're talking about asari, though, I can believe it. Their culture has always seemed really weak to me, like their entitled attitude would ultimately be their downfall.

Humans, on the other hand, are known (in Mass Effect) for their adaptability. And they're the Reapers' "favorite" race for a reason.

think it has more to do with the lack off interspecies warfare. humans, krogans, turians and batarians have fought among themselves alot before forming a global goverment. so on avarage there is atleast 1 person per settlement that knows guarilla like tactics to form effective resistance.

assari lack this hence their inability to form a effective resistence among the populace.

ps, the assari seem to lack the territorial drift the other races poses aswell.

3 of three I do believe, if your not quick enough saren goons gun her down, she can die on the collector mission and she offs herself if you side with the geth.

I noticed that Liara is the focus of some rather pathetic scenes really. If you take her with you to do the Ardat Yakshi mission, she gets all upset about the huskified asari.

At that point I was like:

Um, I'm sorry the Reapers did this to your people Liara, but we've been fighting human husks since this whole thing started. I can only have so much sympathy.

I guess it's her reaction and how strange it is she doesn't acknowledge that other people have been through the same thing or worse. I understand that its hard for her, but to seemingly ignore that her experience has already happened to all the other races is just... socially inept.

Never try this for ME1. If you are late i assume its just a game over, no ?
I cant understand how the plot can move on without the omni tool.
And how she cannot be here in ME2.

You can't progress in ME1 without Tali. Tali can die, but it just gives you the game over screen.

You can shoot Wrex, Mordin. Jack and Miranda can die, if you **** up.
I don't even count the NPCs you can kill of two times.

I think you can even murder the whole Normandy Crew, with a low EMS.
But don't stop there, I mean you can preform genocide on the Krogan's and Geth for the LuLz. ;)

What this has to do with the thread. I don't know, but who cares. Mimimi
