actually she leads the science team, kal'reegar leads the marines.
also, Admiral is more a political position than military among the Quarians.
If Tali is a admiral in ME3 she actually tells you it's just for show basicly

Can we just stop giving Liara attention now...?
I'm tired of her whiny ass always wanting attention.

Sorry I just DON'T like Liara, like... At all.

Tali lives in the engineering section. Do you want Tali to be vaporized? Why do you hate Tali?

I hate the fact than Tali is the only squadmate who can die in two of 3 games and Liara never die. It's not fair.

Actually Kaidan/Ashley can die two out of three games too. But I agree with your point.

You right. Totally forget about them.

You can shoot Wrex, Mordin. Jack and Miranda can die, if you **** up.
I don't even count the NPCs you can kill of two times.

I think you can even murder the whole Normandy Crew, with a low EMS.
But don't stop there, I mean you can preform genocide on the Krogan's and Geth for the LuLz. ;)

What this has to do with the thread. I don't know, but who cares. Mimimi

Tali, with Ashley/Kaidan, is the only one who can die in two games while she is a active part of your squad.
Lose some EMS with Wrex or Mordin's death isn't the same.

Because the writers like her best? I don't know, it really annoyed me, too. Especially on Thessia! There's something about the way she phrased things that made me want to tell her to shut up and remind her that she's not the only one who lost her home.

But then, I generally wish there was an option to tell her to shut up, so my general dislike of her is certainly a factor here.

Well i wished BW choose to kill her if you save her too late in ME1 (no water/food) but instead they just made a different dialogue. Too bad because she was really annoying for me in the first game. More than human-first-Ashley.

It seemed like thessia took a huge beating quick. Liara is one of the toughest crew members under fire. Also for being so hardened, she experienced war away from home. Most of the other crew members had seen battle fairly close to home before. So I think the voice talent, and writers really did a good job with those parts of the game. If anybody doubts her courage under fire I cite her activity prior to the 2nd game, when she was going after shepards remains.

Because at that point all the other planets other than Earth and Khar Shan weren't officially lost yet. Tuchunka repelled the reapers, Rannoch destroyed the reaper, Palaven was holding the reapers, Sur'Kesh reapers haven't even landed yet, Irune, Dekunna, and Kahje are still being defended. Thessia was known as the Jewel of the Galaxy. A symbol of democracy and it had never fallen in any war. The galaxy basically saw it as untouchable. When it fell that hope was shattered. That's why Liara takes it so hard. No one ever thought Thessia would fall.

I felt bad for Liara at first, but the game just kept making such a big deal out of Thessia, which my Renegade Shepard really didn't care about that I got to the point where I really wished there was an option to just tell Liara to grow a pair.

Wow, you have got to laugh at the Liara haters.

Deal with it, as it was perfectly stated earlier. She is simply a wonderful character, so yeah...

Not gonna lie, this actually pissed me off a bit. Not because Liara isn't always a little bit of a wimp who often needs someone to hold her hand, but because some of the hold handing was kind of inappropriate.

I mean, Shepard just had her first major defeat at Thessia. She failed to get the Prothean VI, she let the bad guy get away, she nearly died (again) - and the only person who pays any attention to the fact that she's obviously shaken and out of stride is Garrus, who gives her the appropriate BFF speech. In my playthrough, Kaidan was Shep's LI and he's too busy worrying over sweet little Liara to notice that his lover's seriously beating herself up and doubting herself.

Yeah, Liara's just witnessed her homeworld getting overrun - just like everyone else did - but I don't remember the other characters going 'Oh, poor James! He lost Earth! We must coo over him!' or 'Oh, poor Garrus! He lost Palaven! We must coo over him!' but several of your companions are all 'Oh, poor Liara, she's sure taking it sooo hard!'

So sick of Liara.

Glad we amuse you. And glad you enjoy her character so much. Honestly, good for you. I wish I could see the appeal.

Some of us can't stand her but it seems we can't express that opinion without hearing "Deal with it" at least five times in a single thread.

We deal with it. Not like we have a choice.

So your basically upset, that you can't murder all your Squadis as soon as you leave Mars.

The Reapers are like fluffy Unicorns, compared to some of the BSN users.

I'm scared.

Did you pay attention to the dialogue in the game? Liara said on several occasions how sorry she is for Earth. She also wants to talk with Garrus about Palaven.

Gotta agree there... Totally.

My male shep is having the same issues, but at least my LI (Tali) asked me how I was holding up... Then AFTER asking that she asked me to check up on Liara.
I MEAN WTF?! Who cares?! She sounds completely emotionless and monotone when she's sad anyway, its so unbelieveable I could care less about her character... Only good thing she does is letting me use her broker terminal.

Because you're the leader, that's why. It's your job to keep the morale of everyone on the ship high.

While I agree with you on this, it is pure opinion. This doesn't prove or disprove anything, except that YOU think Liara is a great character.

Well, I didn't see how the loss of her homeworld would be any more terrible than that of the others.
Garrus' birth-place is now a fire, so large that you can see it from space.
And yeah...we know about earth.

The only thing I could come up with, is her discovery of the history of her species being a lie.
Uplifted by protheans, using the prothean knowledge to have the superior edge...yes.

And to be honest: Wouldn't it be kinda awkward if she just got back into her room and say:"Well, that didn't go so well." ?

Yeah and that's why I went there in the end. But honestly... I wish there was an option for Liara to die at some point, like all the other squadies (except for Edi and James, who were introduced in me3)... WAIT EDI DIES AT DESTROY ENDING, nvm. Liara is way too clingy too. My rant is over but my dislike will never cease, dealing with it though.

I did. But after Earth and after Palaven when I went to talk to my companions, most of them were all ready to get going, some of them had a few kind remarks to say - but let's get honest. Kaidan goes /down to Engineering/ to talk to Adams about how bad they feel for Liara. Joker talks about how bad he feels for Liara. Chakwas mentions Liara. Yeah. I feel sorry for Liara too - but why is Garrus the only person who notices that Liara's not the only person who's suffering after Thessia - and why is it Garrus and not Shep's LI that has the 'we're here for you' talk?

Liara sure says a lot (often more than I want to hear, personally), but it sure seems like everyone else could give a rat's - unless it's poor little Liara.

For me at least, it's not like we want to kill off squadmates, but everyone else has a death scene, potentially two except for Liara. Originally, Kai Leng was supposed to kill one of your squadmates on Thessia, right? Something like a Virmire situation. I think it was a good idea. Kai Leng is more of a legitimate enemy rather than a troll. Liara has a potential death scene. It adds more to the defeat of Shepard and it also makes it feel as awful as everyone seems to be acting after Thessia.

Why take it out? It seems like a perfectly good idea.

Because they care about her and because despite the whole Shadow Broker thing, three years ago she was a scientist, and has never fully developed the thick skin of the rest of your squad. I took her response as a reaction to the whole dark and painful route her life had taken, not just to Thessia.

You look after the people on your team.
