It's funny that both the Juggernaut and Superior Dragonbone Armors are better than the Blood Dragon Armor in every way, except for that ridiculous Plate.  +3 Strength, Willpower, and Armor? +50 health and -10% fatigue? When you combine that with the absurd amount of stat boosts you get in the Lost in Dreams quest, the strength stat can go through the roof as you get to levels 14/15. Add enchanted weapons, and my 2h warrior is like an engine of destruction. I'm playing on Hard, and whie boss fights can still be challenging, normal fights have become tedious in their ease. I'm going to dump the Blood Dragon, may even edit my character to remove those essence stat boosts. Because this is just silly.

I have an idea. Why don't you go buy the PS3 version of the game. Then you can look at the version of the Blood Dragon armor that the rest of us have, and never use it because it is crap. That's one problem solved. Then you can replay the game, and when you do Lost in Dreams don't activate any of the essences. You can also not use Force Field, Cone of Cold, Paralysis Explosion, Inferno, Blood Wound, and maybe even tie one arm behind you back.

Better yet... Start off as a Dwarf Noble, and beat the game with the gear Harrowmont gives you as your parting gift from Orzimmar. Make sure you sell off everything you get. Don't want to upgrade from "Clothes", and basic dagger/shield. That might be a challenge.

The spate of "I'm far too awesome for this game" posts are....tiresome. I'm glad you're enjoying the game. But the "Wow, Im so good I feel sorry for the AI" type post has been done many many times. Nobody cares.

@original poster. You started this thread. Now you gonna flame people who suggest maybe you have an advantage others aren't saddled with? So this is only about you ranting and nobody else has the right to comment? This isn't your bathroom, it's a public user forum. People will likely have comments and answers for your post. If you didn't want them, you shouldn't have started the thread. Maybe you're just really good at games...at the expense of other things? You asked.

Um, I'm not the one who made the first unnecessarily sarcastic reply. And no, I don't pretend to be some godly player; that's exactly the opposite of the point I was trying to make. IMHO, there are certain abilities/aspects that can make the game easy without any particular skill or effort. I found Dragon Age challenging when my characters were in the earlier levels. I maintain though that the game gets too easy as you hit higher levels, and that's partly due to things like overpowered equipment and inflated stats. Plus of course very powerful crowd control spells, but that's a point that's been made many times.

Essence fonts give at most +5 str, so an extra level? Why aren't you complaining about tomes?

I will agree that Blood Dragon Plate is pretty stupid with its stat bonuses.

I found the reply to be necessary sarcasm. I'm glad for any who had a good laugh, and hopefully future readers will too. Oh, and the PS3 version of the Blood Dragon armor still sucks.

I should have added Tomes to the intial rant [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/happy.png[/smilie]. Though I don't think there aren't as many of them. And at least you have to give something up (money).

It just strikes me as weird that the other parts of the Blood Dragon Armour are inferior to the Juggernaut, Dragonbone (and perhaps other armour types, I don't know), but the Plate is so powerful. Messes up the idea of having a matching suit of armour.

Why? Serious question, I don't know what its stats are (and don't understand why BW would have made it worse).

There's nothing at all absurd about a long dungeon, that cannot reward you with money, or loot, giving permanent attribute bonuses. To even suggest so is just silly.

The PS3 version only has +6 defense, and 30hp. That's it. I used the full set on Alistair in my first play through, and it was cute at best to boost his defense just a bit more.

I run my favorite Templar in Knight Commander's armor whenever I can get around to buying it. Want to discuss cheaping game play? Play a templar, equip the KC armor, wear the spell ward necklace, place 3 dweomer runes in your weapon or two if you dual wield... then profit. Laugh at all mages in the game with your 90+ spell (not elemental) resistance. With pieces of diligence you can get some nice bonus armor too. Fatigue my be an issue, but who cares when you ignore some of the most devastating effects the AI can throw at you?

Yeah, in the mage origin Duncan tells you about a group of Templars that almost didn't survive a blood mage. Those boys just didn't have the right gear to do the job.

Those fonts in the fade do a whole lot more than +5 str. There are 21 boosts to various stats in the fade. Always. If you've only found 5, you've missed 16. Think about that.

I was frustrated on my mage that so many of the fonts gave strength or dexterity. I seem to remember only getting a handful that were applicable to my mage.

Yes but the others are different stats. The OP was only in regards to STR, so that's why I said only +5.

well...if you think it's cheating..don't get the stat boosts..and sell the armor..problem solved. This rant post is stupid.

it's like complaining about exploiting force field. when you have the option to either not take the spell..or simply not use it...or...use it as intended..as a CC spell or an "oh S" save a dying character button

Plus, wearing the Blood Dragon Armour? That thing is ugly, I'd rather get my ass handed to me in game then wear that beastie thing.

If its so easy roll with only 3 in your party. If you're hardcore roll solo. See how OP blood armor is then.
