You know above all other things i really respect Dark Gantros for keeping up with the replies on this thread, so many people post stuff on here and hardly post afterwards. . .if anything else it gives everyone a chance to discuss the ideas rationally and i've seen loads of people put some great input into possibilities for an ending we could all love. . . tbh even if the ending is nothing like what dark gantros has written i may well give him a shout and see if i can get some artists together and maybe do this as a comic . . . . . . can you imagine if we actually managed to finish a comic with this idea and then email a copy to bioware . . . hell if it was finished i mean like quality finished, it would be one hell of a smack in the teeth if what they come up with is bad. . .. . .i'm still hoping the dlc is going to be epic. . but even if its not i dont care! we'll arrange our own ending and finish it ourselves :)

I was kinda thinking the same thing, maybe using Garry's mod or something.

To be honest, I don't need all these epilouge scenes with your squadmates. I would enjoy a scene where all your mates are together, just so I may know that they are alive. I think all these scenes wouldn't work.

Also, the rachni queen suddenly shows up and saves the day, just like that? Otherwise, it's good.

An interesting idea, but it seems too much like a happy ending. Despite the way it seems, my ending isn't really happy, per se, it's merely somber tempered with hope. Note that the epilogues don't do much more than demonstrate who among your friends have lived say a week or three after you achieved victory. The only exception to this is when the scene regarding your LI is shown, preferably last because of the Liara LI epilogue.

As for the Rachni Queen, it is a bit rushed, but short of updating the Rachni Soldier models in ME1 (They looked like giant shrimp, to me), it seemed the most plausible way to include her.

Definitely a fun read. I particularly ejoy the idea of running into Zaeed in the Refugee deck and the notion of Harbinger assuming control of TIM, just as he's coming round.

And a billion times better than what we currently get.

I liked this, good idea for one of the 'good' endings :D Or the main idea for the ending that the rest would branch off from. I would maybe like a hug or or kiss or something w/ Kaidan/LI to know we'll be together forever. I do like the smiling behind a barricade and running out firing though. And as I said that would be one of the endings, the changes to sacrifice Shepard or differences depending on male or femshep and choices you've made in the other two games would be easy to integrate into the ending you've proposed. Bravo!!

Awesome ending thats what 5 now that blow bioware out of the water? I assume the "bad ending" would have been total defeat as the reapers reap everything they can.

This idea is just a stright line if everything goes right, its flavor changes based on decisions you did or didn't do, but I didn't want to bog it down on the permutations. The only thing that might change if someone didn't live or you didn't do the fetch quest is the presence of that person or race in the final cutscene. There, that doesn't fundamentally change the lore, it just gives you the fan, a direct emotional link to your individual experience without compromising that of someone else's.

bioware should hire you...replacing Hudson/Walters or whoever came up with the current ending(s) we have, at least you know what majority of the ME fans want.

This was brilliant. This is even better than anything I could think of. Yeah, Bioware really should hire you.

Personally, I wasn't such a fan of the "reapers attack harbinger go singularity" thing, I'd prefer if the crucible would just weaken the reapers considerably, so the fleet actually has a chance in taking them out. Yes, I wanna see the Normandy giving the killing blow to Harbinger, as a nice reference to ME1. Still, I wouldn't complain if this would be the canon ending. Well, it's canon for me now.

It's just sad to know that, whatever Bioware will do to the ending, it won't even come close to this.

Sorry for horning in on your thread. Some good ideas and I wanted to put my own ideas in as well.

Assumptions: Indoctrination Theory is true. All endings except destroy are giving in to the Reapers. Only Destroy allows the story to continue.

Screen is black

Voice: (urgent, concerned) Shepard.....Shepard

Camera point of view, scene opens. Viewer sees a beautiful night sky with stars. Some lights are brighter, they resolve into large ships, firing at each other and burning in orbit.

Camera view moves down, looks at view of hands, blackened, charred armour (individual sounds of painful breathing, injury)

Voice: (more clear, closer) Shepard...Shepard...You have to wake up!

Still first person point of view. Face of one of Shepard's squad mates comes in to view. (will depend on composition of player squad)

Squad Mate: Shepard. Get up. We have to get you out of here!

Shepard: Ugg...What... What happened.

Beyond face of squad mate we see the beam and Harbinger. The beam shuts off. Harbinger begins to move forward.

Harbinger: BBBBBBRRRRRRRAAAAAA (very loud Reaper noise/ frustrated?)

Camera pulls back to third person view. Squad mate helps Shepard up and helps to carry him. Second squad mate is back a little, closer to camera, firing at something.

Radio chatter: Move up.. engage!

Still third person view. Mako's and infantry move forward, firing at husks, covering Shepard's extraction. Camera view turns to the rear. Anderson is seen, motioning Shepard to a shuttle he has waiting. Infantry firing.

Anderson: Come on Shepard!

Anderson looks back

Anderson: Fire!

Camera point of view moves back to missile system. Soldier pushes a button, missiles fire in succession. Harbinger is seen in the distance, moving closer. Missiles streak in. Harbinger opens to fire. First one impacts
harmlessly on the side, second one hits. Harbinger lets out angry Reaper noise, lifts off.

Harbinger: YOU MAY HAVE SURVIVED THIS ENCOUNTER SHEPARD, BUT IT DOES NOT MATTER. YOUR RACE
WILL BE.....(insert usual Reaper ego dialogue).

Shepard is helped into the shuttle, lies down on the floor. First person view. Anderson's face fills the screen, looking down at Shepard.

Anderson: Shepard!..Are you all right? (Anderson turns head toward shuttle cockpit)

Anderson: Let's go!

Shepard: Ugh...

Screen goes black. Shepard passes out

Options: Kill off one of players squadmates rescuing Shepard.

Scene 2: Shepard waking up in field hospital (similar to scene in ME1 after Shepard is hit by
Prothean beam).

Purpose of this scene is to set up the next and explain to the player about the Reaper indoctrination attempt of Shepard. Also informs other characters that Reapers attempted to indoctrinate Shepard. End of the scene, Shepard is asked to come to meeting on next move against the Reapers.

Scene 3: Conference room, plan on how to deal with the Reapers. Hackett, certain other characters attend by hologram.

The scene is the real set up for the final battle with the Reapers. Similar to the ME2 suicide mission, Shepard must decide which assets he will task to providing a diversion for him as he assaults the Citadel. Suggest 2 major components: Distraction to landing a strike team on the citadel, then strike team diversion on the Citadel.
Example:various race fleets and Miranda's fighters are part of space diversion to assist transport ships to dock with the Citadel. Shepards team, plus SGT teams, Spectre teams, Jack's biotic kids, Krogan Platoon, etc are all part of the strike team. Shepard chooses to divide these teams up, similar to ME2. Characters may live or die, based on Shepard's choice and on other factors (did Shepard win the loyalty of that character, etc). Player gets at least 1 cutscene per portion of the strike, showing character successfully creating diversion, or falling in battle trying to create that diversion and help Shepard.

Scene 4,5,6?: above fight to and through Citadel to the chamber to open the Citadel.

Scene 7: Bioware, I leave the rest to you.

However, a few suggestions:

I suggest a scene similar to the present scene between TIM, Anderson and Shepard, ie another final indoctrination attempt. This time, with the help of Shepard's squadmates, and the fact that they are aware that the
Reapers attempted to indoctrinate him, they are aware and they help him to overcome the attempt.

Final scene should take place in Citadel council chambers, as in ME1.

This is an interesting take, but I think I will keep my idea. My intent in writing this is that if it were to be made, it would be as easy as possible financially and in terms of production time. That means minimizing Voice actors as much as possible (this is unavoidable, but from an artistic side, most of the cutscenes I wrote are visual, not requiring dialogue and conveying a great deal of emotion). Also, I hadn't thought to articulate this before, but I have a slight addon to the Indoctrination theory, that after the last big speech before the rush to the Conduit, Shepard's indoctrination made a final big push and that Shepard ran out alone into the field to get zapped by Harbinger. He didn't get killed outright, so the Indoctrination got to nearly win the battle, unless you choose the Destroy option and got it perfect.

I wasn't trying to get you to change your ideas, I just wanted to put mine out there.

I take your point about minimizing resources and I thought about that myself. However, I suspect part of the problem with ME3 was that there was too much minimizing of resources and not enough "artistic integrity".

Better to spend the time and resources to do it right. Half-assedness got us in the mess in the first place.

A lot of people I know really like Blizzard and are looking forward to Diablo 3. I am not a fan of their stuff and I am always cutting them down, especially about their lack of release dates. A big, experienced company like Blizzard should be able to do something as simple as making a plan and sticking to it.

After this ME3 ending fiasco, I am wishing BW was more like Blizzard. I would have preferred to wait for something good.

I agree, but the reality of the matter is that EA will only invest the bare minimum of resources in fixing this, if at all. So, by offering an effective solution, both story wise and cost wise, it makes it all the more possible.

I read the announcement, but I'm cautiously optimistic until I get some more details on what exactly they are expanding and clarifying. They run the risk of merely polishing the turd.

Actually I wrote it in a few hours. It isn't really original, it's just a logical interpretation of the game's plotholes with an emphasis on paragon/completionist choices.

Here's hoping that we can influence EA enough to give Bioware the resources to make a proper ending.
