Are any Adepts out there that just pick Stasis and Pull and feel that Singularity serves almost no purpose? This is extremely true for any Adepts that pick a bonus power that can strip shields. I am trying to think in my entire playthrough of ME3, if there was one instance where I thought I needed to use Singularity instead of either Stasis or Pull.

There were a few times I used singularity, but stasis/throw and warp/throw were my bread and butter.

For targets with Armor/Barrier=Expose Warp/Throw
For targets with Barrier=Expose Warp/Throw
For targets with Shield=Stasis Bubble/Throw
For targets with Health=Double Pull/Throw

What's the point of Singularity? It seems to be completely useless since you doesn't stagger armor enemies like Brutes or Banshees.

Singularity does seem pretty weak this time around.

I'll say this though, sometimes it sucks targets in anyway even if they roll away from it. I guess that's something.

I never used singularity with my SP adept. I used lift and throw almost exclusively. With the 2 shot evolution on both of them I WAS the biotic artillery for my squad.

I really only have Liara use it to pull enemies out of cover. It seems to always work unlike Pull which can miss at times.

But yea Pull/Warp is all I use when I go Adept.

Liara's Singularity is insane power. Much better than Shep's Singularity.

Singularity is good for staggering shielded enemies long enough for you to strip them with your weapon and send them floating.

It's good for combos and crowd control

I also like Liara's singularity, mainly because it hits instantly. I too don't see much use for it on my adept, having switched to stasis as my bonus power and replacing singularity's role with double pull.

It's not as good as it was in ME2 (or ME1 for that matter) but you can still leave it on the field and use other powers.

It's more situational.

It's advantage over pull is that if it misses a direct hit on a target, the singularity will still be there, or if a target still has a few defences it can stick on there for the fraction of a second it takes to shoot the defences off => more fluid and smoother detonation spam.

If Singularity was instant (like Liaras version) it would be a great power, despite the lack of locking down enemies with protection (like it did in ME2). The current version is just a weak substitute for Pull - which has better cooldown and twin evo. The only thing worth mentioning is it can act like a trap, but with the insane cooldown speed thats not important anyway.

[edit] Singularity not reaching its target was something I didnt like about it in ME2 and this hasnt changed unfortunately. A missed oppotunity imho.

i always start with singularity, then blast away with warp and throw. id prolly use bionades more often but i just dont use the power wheel. too bad theres only 3 hotkeys.

singularity doesnt fall short of being another one of the adepts redundant abilities. its great that it 'works' on protections, but so does stasis, and any class can use stasis. stasis is even instacast too!

my adepts main abilities are warp+throw. singulariy gets its uses when i remember im playing an adept.

Singularity IS a redundant ability and does NOT work on enemies with protection. Funny to hear you of all people say this.

Swap Singularity with Pull (the dual version) and you have a vastly superior set of powers. In ME2 console players were gimped playing Adept coz they couldn't map all the important skills, in ME3 there are only 3 powers worth mentioning (Pull, Throw, Warp) the rest are weaker variations of those two that add nothing to the Adept's arsenal except longer cooldowns, worse effects and a different animation.

Singularity is really only useful on Liara. Warp is better for Detonations and Pull/Throw is better for CC.

You have to get behind one first and when you do Throw is better. Pull always removes their shields. There is no point or advantage to use Singularity in this situation.

You can make it spawn behind and to their side. Or target something else that's directly behind them. Very situational, I know.

It's there to blow up when you use warp.

I use it for choke points (ladders, between crates etc) and placed near me for husks that come running, I can then focus elsewhere and later see what it's caught then warp em.

i don't agree.....singularity and shockwave are the only 2 power that can take an enemy of of covers. You can use shockwave even when you are covered (!) because it goes through things. And i like that now enemies stay lifted for a short time.
In my opinion the only problem of these 2 powers is the small radius, even upgraded (when radius is not upgraded they are useless)

Even pull does not lift protected enemies.....

It's great when getting swarmed by husks. Also can get multiple enemies that are hiding in cover. Just throw it a few feet over their heads. Other then that, yeah it's pretty useless.
