Since i suspected it might be something like a Double NAT problem, i ordered a public ip from my Provider, solved the issue.
Sucks it Has to cost me 1,5Euro/Month to be able to play with freinds.

Same problem here, and several of the people I play with. And also still the disconnects from games-issue, still.

In essence; bump till they cease the shameful silence on the TECH SUPPORT FORUMS.

Yeah i figured it was something like that.... Im going to draw a visio drawing just to make things as clear as possible for Bioware. Then hopefully this is will be fixed in the next patch....

You said you fixed by ordering a public ip if my apt complex provides Internet and I have my wireless router hooked up in bridge mode cause it will double NAT otherwise is it even possible to order a public ip in this situation. Also I didn't have this stuck joining during beta it the first day I got the game. For the past month I havnt been able to play with friends and ea/ origin support are a waste of time. I've tried everything.  Pretty much am about to just give up and quit trying multiplayer if I can't even enjoy it with my friends and family.

Okay, so i made some Visio drawings (pretty fast so they arent that detailed :P)

But it seems the majority of the problems are in these forms.

First up the most standard one

Image IPB

Basicly your PC cannot connect to your friends pc. So i assume the problem goes wrong at the cloud, where the game is hosted on EA's servers. If your ports are not forwarded correctly please do so. It may resolve the issue for some.

Second the problem I myself have been experiencing.

Image IPB

So my problem is that i cannot join my sisters game. My sister is Friends PC nr2.
So your pc tries to join friends pc nr2. This doesn't work. So before Bioware steps in and says:  The router is not configured correctly, let me explain why that can't be the issue.

My sisters friend who is on the same network also has mass effect 3 but he is a busy man so playing multiplayer with him isn't always an option. But! When he hosts a game i CAN join him.
So your pc cannot connect to friends pc nr2 (and vice versa) but your pc can connect to friends pc.... So basicly it cannot be an router issue. When friends pc hosts the game friends nr2 can also join the game. So thats were i cannot see the logic anymore. It is not impossible to play with my sister when there is a third party to host the game. But whats even weirder is that the third party can be on the same network....

Sorry for the long post but i hope i made it more clear now. If i forgot anything please let me know ;)

I also want to add this is in no way an issue with routers or ports.
Why?:
1. I forwarded ports so did my friend
2. I bypassed my router and hooked into my modem do did my friend to thier modem still did not work
3. Even if it was ports it actually has worked in demo in jan and the first few days I had the game live.

Since ea support or bioware is failing to address the issues and sell us incomplete non functioning products I'm taking my valuable time and money to a game where I can play with my friends. Oh well I did enjoy it but quick q gets old.

I think the inherent issue is with origin and not the game.

Hm, i realized that my friend and I cannot create joinable games.
That means:

I create game: Noone joins
My friend creates a game: Noone joins
Friend joins a random game -> I can follow
I join a random game -> Friend can follow

When we are in a random game and the host leaves the game gets recreated. If I or my friend becomes Host, players are able to join us and we can still play together.

At least you guys are able to find a way to join a game. Whenever I try to join a game I'm invited to, or invite friends to mine, we all get the "You are playing on a different version of the game" error. Has given us since ME3 launched, and two of us are playing the N7 Collector's... :<

Good explanation/diagrams, GoeGi. This is exactly the problem I've been having since the demo. What's weird is that my bro and I can't even play together if there IS a third-party hosting the game. It seems like no matter what, we cannot be in the same game together. We can play the game at the same time (thank god), but we can never be in the same instance.

What's even weirder is that this used to not be an issue. We used to be able to connect to a third-party host and play at the same time in the same instance (although we could not hear each other in voice chat, which was strange). This was back in the demo.

I've checked out all our settings for our network, and made sure everything is how it should be according to the useless dev posts here. As this is the only game I have played that has this issue, I am beyond reasonable doubt that this isn't something on our end. I do so hope something is done about this. We bought two copies of the game for pete's sake, now give us what we paid for.

Thanks Image IPB

Yeah the Dev support is pretty bad in the support forum. Pretty ironic....
Just keep bumping the thread now and then and hope that they see it.....

Bump. I messed with ports, changed router settings, dropped all firewalls, disconnected from router, and no good.

My friends and I used to have this problem. We could never play with eachother...

Until, every single one of us forwarded our ports. Now we can connect to each other anytime.

Just connected to a friend's lobby, and then left after a bit. Then not 10 minutes later, I go to join his lobby again and it doesn't work. Just stuck on the "joining game" screen. I keep trying to join but to no avail. I've tried restarting the game, restarting Origin, disabling antivirus, everything. This is garbage.

If this is true you'd need to contact your ISP as it sounds like they're blocking some of the ports Origin uses on their end.
