But I got more out of these games than just the fun escapism and
entertainment and stuff.  I actually came away a changed person, and
dare I say a better person.  I became more patient, more tolerant.  I
started to care more about the people around me and the problems they
and the rest of the world faced.  And, for the first time, I felt
confident
enough in myself that I could make a difference.  Shepard
had molded me as much as I had molded her.  I had learned that, no
matter how bleak things get, you’ve got to keep fighting.  If you work
hard enough, if you get enough people motivated to work together, if you
care and you show it, you really could make a difference.  Paragon +100

this whole mass effect 3 ending is so wrapped up in I cant even begin to imagine...NOT just the whole retakers vs bioware issue thats being buzzed around the internet but as individual people the way this game ended meant A LOT.

A post of personal experiences and dissatisfaction that doesn't come off as either pointless, judgmental, or incessantly arrogant...whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Cheez will now be teaching Foruming 101. First class crafting posts that both appreciate developers and still making a damn point.

But that’s just my opinion.

Great post, Cheez. I know that Bioware is busy, but I hope they take the time to read this one.

Words can't describe how great that post was... It sums up everything how I feel and how I'm sure the majority of the fanbase feels... I have been a part of the mass effect universe ever since its release with the first game... I've lost track of how many hours I've lost myself inside it, Please Bioware don't let it end like this... Its pitiful.

Beautifully written. A+

Nah, I could revise it in places.  Gets a little choppy towards the end.

But hell, sleep-deprived internet rant.  Screw it.

Nah, don't be humble. =) It is well written. I hope this is not your last epic rant.

thank you AdmiralCheez...very nicely written! I've been a long time Bioware fan with Mass Effect being by far my favorite game series and to have such an incredible series end the way it did. I don't have the heart to replay it or any of the prior games. Like a number of folks I was planning on replaying from ME1 but not now...sigh

BTW Cheez the one thing your post is missing is:
"Make me proud.... Make yourselves proud." Via Paragon Shepard speech.

D'awww, Cheez, I absolutely love your big wall o' opinion. The story of how you came to find Mass Effect made me tear up a bit. :crying:

If Bioware needs feedback then this is the first thing they should read.

I heartily agree with the good Admiral's epic rant. I put a lot of myself into Mass Effect. A *lot* of myself. And up until the last 5-10 minutes, it was totally worth it. Completely and utterly. Followed by...hollowness. It's a very sad state of things to end the trilogy this way.
squee913 wrote...

I just beat ME3 last night. Let's put it this way:

My Let's Play will end before the last 10 minutes. I hope one day you will fix this and I can finish the LP. But I refuse to end my Shep and Combat drone jack in this way.

Please fix this.
Hey, it's Squee! I love your Mass Effect Let's Plays! Glad to hear you're holding off on uploading the "finale" until such a as time this debacle is sufficiently dealt with. Shepard, Tali, Jack, your shiny new turret, and (the strangely absent) Chiktikka don't deserve a sendoff like that.
I just don't know what happened. Everything about that game was exceeding expectations. I have never seen a game capture what it would mean for the galaxy to be at war. It was beautiful. It was depressing. Most of all, it was epic. And then....

For the record, I tried to shoot the... New character that was introduced in the last few minutes... I tried so hard, but he would not die!!! :crying:

Well said. You managed to describe the same level of emotional attachment I came to have for the series, and how I felt after the last 5 minutes.

grrrrr darn forum and it's weird bugs...

Like I said, all those times I got on Skype at 3am to record ME w/friends with some guest on the other side of the world... All of it wasted because it just does not matter in the end :?

This was a refreshing change of pace from the usual pretentious indignation that plagues these boards. I agree with practically everything you said, I just don't see this as worth being taken so seriously.

Echoes my thoughts as well.

I love how succinctly you lay things out, Cheez, hopefully it is taken into consideration.

I'm sure they could have.  They probably already did.

But I am the Admiral, and the Admiral's forum cred gives the Admiral a big ol' signal boost whenever she says something mildly in synch with what the rest of the fanbase is thinking.

It's the top hat.
