In 2 I also used Thane a lot, but Garrus just a bit more. I wish I could use Ashley more, but she's unavailable for half the game, same with Tali, and given that you get only a handful of missions before the game is over, blah.

Liara and Garrus.

I really wanted to bring Vega along more - he was an intresting character. But from a practical standpoint as a vanguard I lacked a way of set off biotic detonations (Liara's warp) or disable shields (Garrus' overload) at long range

...had I not killed off Kaidan on virmire I could've got both of those in a single package - I'd still had to take Garrus though, because he is the Batturian

EDI and Javik mostly. Sometimes swap Javik out for Vega/Garrus
