For some reason, since I changed my password last, ME2 refuses to connect automatically. I have to enter the password manually every time. Is there some way I can manually update the password on file or force it to update?

Wow...that was....odd...
All of a sudden it works!
Reproduction of fix: Open the game as normal. Login to the ME2 server as normal. Exit the game. Done!
Whether this fixed it or it was just a fluke, it's at least worth trying.
