Alright so I'm having a massive error trying to get through the Grissom Academy Mission.
I start the Mission and get all the way up until the cut scene with Jack and the Students and the huge Robot thing I'm supposed to be saving the Students from.
As soon as the cut scene ends, Shepard falls through the floor of the Academy into the abyss and it says "Critical Mission Error."
There's nothing I can do to stop from falling through the floor because it happens the second the cut scene ends and the game never loads to where I have control of the game.
Is there anything I can do for this? I know it's a side mission and you don't have to do it to win the game, but I would like to be able to complete the Mission regardless. So how can I fix this without losing all the progess I have accomplished so far?

I am having this problem as well, and others are, too, if you search "Grissom Academy Bug". It's really irritating. I've tried running in compatibility mode, I've tried running as administrator, I've tried restarting the mission, I've tried leaving and coming back, I've tried repairing the install, I've tried applying the 1.01 patch, I've tried rolling out of the way, I've tried having Liara hit us with singularity, I've tried hitting my team with lift...the longer I try, the more ridiculous my solutions become. This is a glitch that needs to be addressed in the next patch release.

I've been having this problem too. I keep running into glitch after glitch, so I finaly reinstalled the game. Every other glitch I've had was fixed but this one is still happening. I've spent about 3 hours trying to find someway to fix this stupid problem but I have yet to find anything. Thankfully I've found a few posts like this so I know its not just me.

Any update at all would be appreciated but its starting to ****** me off that I just keep finding glitch after glitch and its making me not want to play the game anymore.

And unfortunately, after you go to the Citadel after the Salarian Councilor tells you to come because of a certain event (I won't spoil it just in case), the Grissom mission goes away. So I can't even play through a bit and come back to it in the second act after a patch might have been released. I can't put it on hold because then all my multiplayer work at getting my readiness rating up will decay and it would drive me nuts to do nothing but multiplayer, because I am a tactics kind of person -- and a very good one at that. There is no time in the multiplayer to plan or think or do anything other than keep running in circles and hope to hell you managed to get paired up with people who actually care enough to revive you should a heavy hitter take you out or you get flanked by a half dozen enemies. I want to play through a second time, because I always do that with these games immediately after finishing it the first time, but if a patch STILL hasn't been released to fix it, it's going to put a serious damper on things. I realize the mission isn't mandatory, but you get a chance to catch up with Jack and gain some pretty decent war assets.

Does anyone know if the new patch fixes this problem? Unfortunately I'm already past the point in the game in which this mission is available. I'll play through again, but that won't be for another week at least.

The newest patch does NOT fix this issue. There is a BIG workaround for it though, that has allowed me to successfully complete the mission. Though it requires a bit of time and some fellow gaming friends.

You'll need a friend or sibling, whatever, who owns ME3 for the xbox. You'll also be needing a USB stick.

1. Go to this site and click "Register": http://legion.cal24.pl/me2/ [It says "ME2, however, it works for ME3 as well.]
2. After you've registered and logged in, click "My Saves".
3. Click "Choose file" and navigate to your "Documents>Bioware>Mass Effect 3>Saves" and choose your .pcsav career. If you have more than one, it will be the one that was updated last. Click "Upload".
4. After it has uploaded, you will see the file followed by several buttons. Choose "Xbox export".
5. Navigate to where ever the file saved to. For most, it will be in your downloads folder as "SaveExport.xbsav".
6. Move this file to your USB stick.
7. Plug the USB stick into an xbox with Mass Effect 3 in it.
8. Load the career from your USB.
9. Go to Grissom and complete your mission. (Remember, you must do this BEFORE you finish Tuchanka's missions, or it will be gone!)
10. Save your game back to the USB stick.
11. Plug the USB back into your comp and navigate back to http://legion.cal24.pl/me2/.
12. Login if necessary and head over to "My Saves" again. Click "Choose files" and navigate to your USB drive. Choose the .xbsav file and click "Upload" in your browser.
13. The file will appear beneath your previous upload (or whichever has the latest update time). Click "PC export".
14. Go back to your downloads folder (or where ever you saved the file) and copy the file.
15. Go back to "Downloads>Bioware>Mass Effect 3>Saves" and paste the file into it.
16. Open Mass Effect 3 and load the game (choose "Load" in the main menu, because sometimes it will load your old save instead, since the save did not originate within the PC game).
17. Your Grissom mission should now be complete! Hurray!

Please message me if you have any concerns or questions! Thanks!
