So what happens if you just don't recruit Liara in ME1?
That is not possible. You can delay her recruitment, but the final mission will not begin before you have her, since you need her help to understand the Beacon.

Because they don't like her, presumably. Why do people want any given character dead?Truemaster4456 wrote...
Why does this thread exsist? Liara is an amazing character that grows into an awesome love interest throughout the series. I always romance her and I hat people wishing she would die. Why do people want her dead?

Liara never really got the meaning of "friend zone." For players who didn't particularly like her, who view her as a bit of a stalker, being constantly forced to interact with her is a pain. I think it would have been more appropriate for some of the more personal conversations to take place between Shepard and his/her respective love interest instead. It smacks of favoritism to have a single character who receives more content than anyone else, has adamantium plot armor, and whom you're forced to be friends with. As noted, everyone else you can blow off or even kill off - except Liara. I don't want her dead. But if the option existed to redesignate her as a war asset (Shadow Broker), I'd take it, at least in my canon playthrough. Of course, that is all requisite on the extended cut...AzaggThoth wrote...

Personally I wouldn't want her dead. An option to send her off to Hacket to help with the crucible after Mars or Thessia though would have been nice. She did soak up a lot of screen time that it would have been nice to see shared by the rest of the team. All her appearances are fin if she is Shep's LI, but when she isn't, she is just sort of there way to much. Not every player has a Shepard in love with Liara.
