Sorry.  Maybe you want to start your own topic where you can talk about how perfect the game is?

I think we were all just expecting the next big RPG, and what we got is a solid action/third-person shooter game instead.

Edit:Typo

I would be interested to hear you elaborate on the poor characterization, not quite sure what you mean.

To me it wasn't so much as poor characterization as a lack of it (due to a lack of dialogue) I barely got to talk to Tali and Garrus and hear how things had changed for them since ME2. And you basically learn absolutely nothing about what the VS's did during the 2 years after ME1. And even James, after his first conversation about losing his squad you barely ever get any real investigation options to talk to him.

The twitter stuff was just plain awful. There are many, many people that don't use twitter (like me!) and had no idea about any of that stuff until I got to this forum... After I finished the game.

Yeah without twitter peeps will never know Emily Wong was killed off and pretty much everyone on the Citadel is dead.

Wiat what did they do with people on the citidel?

I don't use twitter and honestly if it's part of the game it should be in the damn game.

Mac Walters confirmed pretty much everyone on the Citadel is dead when the Reapers attacked, very few managed to escape before the arms could close.

So all the time I spent getting C-Sec ready and forming a miltia and helping the hosiptols and everything else was basicly for nothing.

Good to know, now the ending sucks even more because it makes every side quest even more meaningless.

I honestly thought we were going to visit the hanar homeworld, Elcor homeworld, more of the other species home planets as well. The Me2 squad camos were disappointing.

*of non-squad NPCs.

Of who specifically and why? The only ones that I personally thought were poor were Zaeed and maybe Udina. Would have like a bit more info on Udina's decision to betray the council than just 'he is a power hungry bastard'.

well you don't really talk to NPC's at all. Compared to ME1 and ME2 it feels like a major step back. Even characters you didn't interact with a whole bunch in ME1 & ME2 (Like Gianna, the consort, the cop from Samara's mission, Gavorn, Aria, Chabon, and others) you really got to know through their side quests or investigating dialogue. Here you barely even talk to any NPC's and when you do it's usually 1-2 lines.

Oh I forgot to say the brief ME2 squad member cameos too! sucks if you had an ME2 LI lol...

It would have been really nice if for the missions that involved the ME2 squad they were temporary squadmates like how Liara was in LOTSB.  It's not like the resources for them weren't aleady there.

Killing off characters through emails

Dumbed down dialogue and conversations

GoW-style combat

Shepard's hands

I turned a blind-eye to all of this, but the ending was just something I couldn't ignore.

I disagree with you about Garrus, I thought there was plenty of Garrus and it was all good and really gave you insight into his life. With regards to Tali I understand your feelings, she was introduced very late in the game and it felt like because of this you didn't get to talk with her as much on the normandy. But I enjoyed doing the missions with her and thought they were good. And ya I think James was a little sparce and I am not quite sure how I feel about him. I think it would have been more interesting if he had some sort of resentment toward Shepard for killing the collectors thereby invalidating the sacrificing of his team.

I don't use twitter or facebook and I expect everything relevant to the game I buy to be in the game and since I worked pretty hard to build up the citadel defense force I would think what happens to the people on the citadel constitutes a game element that should be resolved in the game...

Oh right, ME3 isn't about resolution it's about speculation! Silly me.

Im sorry im just fascinating at how so many people can stay on the forums of a game they clearly hate so much.

But hey, BSN is WELL known for this on the internet.

I would say that the ending actauly made me nitpick the game even more, and honestly I have found way to many things that make me think Bioware is not making RPGs anymore.

Yeah I thought Aria had something important to say but all you do is do the mercenary quests.

Maybe the rumoured Retake Omega is on the horizon.

I found all these areas you've all mentioned seriously lacking as well. So many elements were missing that it just didn't feel like the Mass Effect experience.

I really enjoyed talking with the people who were on my ship for missions like the primarch and the Quarians, I thought those conversations were fleshed out and interesting. But ya you don't really talk to as many. I think that those fetch quests would have been alot better if the payoff was an actual conversation rather than a thankyou line. Would have liked to hear more about this flag I got you and why it is important to you people, that kind of thing.

Don't forget the fact that the beginning also sucked because Shepard sat on Earth doing nothing for 6 months.
That's even more out of character than what he did at the ending if you ask me.

Wrong, there is more dialogue with the characters than in ME2. They are just less talking codex.

And really, ME3's cast is the BEST in a Bioware game.

Right: Game was more linear than the rest, no vehicle and planetary exploration (linear missions), and only 1 town in the game other than the normandy. Also, brushing aside Harbinger from the lead villain position. Mass Effect 3 didn't have the hidden scanning quests like ME2. This might have been done purposely so they can release more DLC to make us pay. That said, it was the weakest entry in the series even if you don't include the ending. It is made even weaker by the terrible ending.

For the record...all three games were rushed...tell me the first Mass Effect wasn't rushed....
hell ME1 was far more of a rush job than ME3.

In fact, ME3 just did not have the filler the other two did. It had 30 minutes of filler, not 5 hours of it.

It just feels like they gave up in the process of making this game.

It doesn't feel right, if you understand what I'm trying to say.

Yup.  It feels half-assed compared to ME2.  It just doesn't have the "heart" of its predecessors.

Twitter feed?

What twitter feed? A real one outside of the game?
Or the one at the opening menu of the game? That seemed more like a news ticker.
