So are you really using the Combat Tactics?

My point is that you can setup tactics for all of your party members, including NPCs. And that is controlling them just like WOW bots. And many have said that a lot of junk encounters can be handled this way. So what's the difference? A percentage difference in the amount of the game that can be automated? That's not the point.
If I play a game I play it becasue I want to experience all of it. Not to see how fast I can get through it.
It isn't a chore to shortcut. It's not an exercise in AI programming. I did that in college.
I prefer self-set challenges of figuring out how to get through an encounter unscathed, or without anyone going unconscious, or without using any potions, etc. That's fun for me. Not programming an expert system.
Here's the deal, and where your logic apparently fails to a large degree....
WoW was not written to be played with bots. It's a workaround for scum who profit off selling WoW gold. WoW is also a one character game. So if you use a bot to control your
character you can walk away from the game and make a sandwich.Bots are a hack of the game. DA:O was *written to be played with tactics. The game is sold with tactical options you may use or not use as you see fit. Apprently you feel you are some "superior" gamer because you choose not to take full advantage of all game features. You enjoy playing that way. Cool. But people who use tactics are simply playing the game to its full potential. There is nothing wrong with that and absolutely nothing superior about the way you play.

I'm so hurt because someone doesn't like the way I play the game, and I think logic has something to do with it.
The fact of the matter is that the tactics really are crummy. They can't even be set up globally, only locally for each character. Thus there is no way to tell a character not to apply a health poltice when another character is healing them. Tactics at most may be good in emergency situations, but they will waste resources.

I'm not hurt at all. I just thought you were sounding like the same kind of elitist WoW moron who refuses to download even the most basic add ons like Omen and then ****es at the tank for losing aggro.
And I do think you're being illogical. Using tactics is nothing like using bots to farm in WoW. Period. I've played both games. Tactics are written into the packaged program of DA:O. The gameplay is designed with it in mind. If you don't enjoy using it, that's totally fine. But you are making it sound like you are a superior gamer because you enjoy playing differently than others and I think that's silly. *Shrug.

It would be way too tedious to control every single NPC actions.
I rather just focus on my own guy and let the npc do their thing.
Wish the combat tactics were more sophisticated though.
I like to have smart party members use their abilities correctly and I can sit back and watch it evolve and not have to pause so much.
That what makes it fun for me.
