Bioware give me Shiala as a romance and squadmember, Aria as a romance, and Gianna as a romance via DLC and I will forget about the ending.

This thread is for those of you who are rather partial about the ending and just want to see your Shepards' journey continue in some way. On that note Bioware would have to create some pretty compelling DLC to take our minds off the ending and focus more on our Sheps overall journey. My post topic is all I personally want to see and i will be happy, what would Bioware have to come up with via DLC for you guys to overlook the ending and move on...... thanks as always for reading and responding.

I just want a DLC to expand on the VS. They got sidelined pretty much after the Udina coup.

Can we just work on what we have right now?

I mean, there's Liara, Kaidan, Ashley, Garrus, Tali, Steve, Samantha, Kelly, Allers, Jack, Miranda, suicide by Mornith, a thing with Samara, and then weeping over Thane's corpse (though techincally you can't weep or show any real emotion on your Shepard after he dies, let alone TALK about it to anyone), and fingertwitching for a renegade interrupt with Jacob and his new girl.

I THINK we have options. And the last thing we need is more female LIs. We need some males. We have 2 functioning for femShep right now. Both can be dead. One needs to be imported from 2. Oddly enough, broShep also has 2 male LIs. And one of them will always be alive!

OP: No. Even 10 additional well done Liara-like romances with characters we care for and love won't make the endings more enjoyable.

Why?

Because regardless of whom your Shepard romances, she or he always will end as a sad puppy without Shepard.

Endings first, LIs next (including ME2!LI and VS), new LIs last.

Hey you guys thanks for posting on this topic, i don't want to burst anyones bubble but the only reason i would ask for this is because I feel as though it would be alot easier and cheaper for bioware to add new love interest options than go back and change or expand on the ones they already have in place and as for the ending what on earth could they possible do to change or fix the ending? I mean I don't want some crappy pictures with text on the screen that would be a waste of complaining for a decent ending.
I think about it from Bioware's perspective MONEY, TIME, VOICE OVERS RETURNING, I mean there would be alot to go into expanding on current romances and ending content, I mean what do you guys really want from the ending???? All we are more than likely to get is the same crap they did with most of the ME2 squad, a picture and a summary at the bottem BOOOOO. Thanks for reading and responding :)

Technically it's actually easier to get old Voice actors back than finding new ones at least for bigger roles (like romances).
Thing is, they already have contact with previous Voice Actors and their respective agents so from both a creative perspective (i.e the writers) and juridical (contracts) it's easier.
It probably speed things up developmentwise to use old Voice actors.

That said getting new romaces from previously non-romanceable characters would partially be feasible to implement. Although, there would be more programming (flags animation etc.) than with already romanceable characters who have the flags already.

Expanding current romances is far easier than introducing new ones.

Keep in mind: there's at least ONE romance that feels tacked on: Diana Allers' one. She can be easily missed and is no prereq for the mission. If you don't take her with you, you won't miss her at all.

Now think about NEW LIs. They need to be (re-)introduced - means, they need a role. Or they would feel like Allers. Sure, Gianna, Shila & co are already existing characters, but without some introduction, they would feel like extras.

Expanding existing romances is also easier since you just need to add additional scenes. For Garrus & Liara quite difficult since there's nearly no space left to add more scenes, while ME2 characters have plenty of opportunities here. And the VS has a HUGE gap between the date on the Citadel and the romance climax scene - plenty space for at least 2 or 3 big romance scenes without giving the player the feeling of "overdoing" it.

New LI may need to be (re)introduced, but they could be a bit easier to write. Let's say we get Shiala/Gianna as LIs. It would most likely imply that you helped them before, and there wouldn't be any branch in the writing; whereas if you try to expand an existing romance, you may have to record a more dialogues just to fit your story.

If you have a date on Ilium with Liara, you would probably need different dialogue if you started your romance in 1 and remained faithful, cheated in 2, or started in 3... It would only be very small changes, but I'm not sure it's easier than just bringing a new character without having to worry about what happened before.

Now of course, new LIs would need a "new romance scene", and not just dialogues...

Realistically, I would love to see Shiala, Gianna, and Aria as new LIs, but I think Aria is the only one who has a (slim) chance. And it would probably not be a "real romance", more like an exception to the only rule on Omega.

Aria has the biggest chance since the Omega-DLC could be used to introduce her as permanent (or semi-permanent) squadmate. Also I think you can get extra support from Aria (more war assets) if you re-conquer Omega for her.

Even if she's not a full fledged romance in the end, there's a chance she's "thankful" towards Shepard if the player picks that option - like Sha'ira. It's kinda hinted a lot of guys want to do it with Aria - but she seems to be one picking the right partners. Shepard is pretty much the most interesting candidate - being a Spectre and a living legend. Much better than any thug boss ....

So in short: Aria might go down the Sha'ira route. Chances are very high.

I don't really care about new LI. There is enough LIs in the game but most of them are very poorly developed. Fix them first.
Same with companions. First BioWare should reintroduce some old companions, then they may add some new ones.

Yeah. Just saying the Omega DLC might introduce Aria as squadmate - even if it's only for missions regarding Omega. And the LI!stuff is -very- likely.

Doubt BW will create a romance!DLC that quickly. They still have to deal with the endings first, in one or another way.

But I am not sure about Aria. Remember the scene with Aria and Councilor Tevos? ...I'm afraid she's already
taken ^_^

This. Femshep got the short end of the stick as far as quantity goes, though quality-wise she's got Garrus so it sort of balances out.

Though if we're asking for stuff, a Vega romance would be easier to implement than a Shiala or Gianna one.

So Mass Effect is space opera then. I get the feeling that all people want and care about is just romace and relationships.

So okay space opera DLC about your favourite LI. Do you think they should include little bit of combat and reapers in it too?

Ok then. Bioware, give me a Joker romance and chance to kick Edi shiny ass...
