So my order arrived today and I couldnt be more outraged. First off I pay 10 dollars for shipping that takes WEEKS. Then I dont get a tracking number. THEN I'm charged anotuher 10 bucks in customs for something that originated in EDMONTON!

This is the first time I've ordered something from the states, from a larger company, that has not dealt with the customs in the shipping and handling. And hell I bought a laptop from the states begining of this year.

This is unacceptable, the price of my order DOUBLED as a result of this and I am extremely unhappy. I will be sending you an email but I wanted this out in the open. If you are in Canada DO NOT BUY FROM THE BIOWARE STORE, YOU WILL GET SHAFTED!

It's unfortunately something that comes with buying something from the US now. I've had orders from the Bioware store that were not charged duty, but recently I was as well. It sucks, but it happens, and it isn't Treehouse's fault.

What I do now is add the potential duty cost to whatever order I am buying from the US, so if they decide to hit me with it, fine, at least I'm prepared.

If they just shipped using USPS we wouldn't be shafted. Unless Ms. Domino can offer us more information or a fix, I think I'll just cancel my lithograph order and avoid the Bioware store.

But really the Bioware store is not liable for this and nothing will come from you getting annoyed over it. Get annoyed at the government, if anyone. :police:

Hell I can get annoyed at Bioware. For several reasons.
1) they are a CANADIAN COMPANY. It really cant be that hard to ship from Canada really.
2) There are ways for companies to ensure that this doesnt happen and it is handled at their end.
3) What the hell was I paying 10 dollars in extremely slow shipping for?
4) The fact that they increased the cost of my order by 50% for no reason
5) I paid 10 dollars in shipping when the US pays 2.50 and no customs. AND then it takes a month to get here.

AND trust me, I am more annoyed with Harper's conservative government and BC's Liberals than 90% of the population for reasons other than being charged customs.

1) It's not Bioware shipping it to you. It's a company located in the U.S. that handles merchandising for Bioware.
2) Well, that's what we're all waiting on from the Bioware store. A fix.
3) 10 dollars sounds just about right for a small company shipping items across the border using some sort of courier service. I know when I sell cds to the U.S., it costs me 8.00 between an envelope and the cheapest shipping option. Not that I think it's the right move ot use this courier, I'm not ordering any more either from the Bioware store until it's fixed.
4) You mean in reference to the extra charges laid by the government? Well, that'ssure not Bioware...
5) See 1.

1 more point as I do disagree and think that if a company offers international shipping it should be able to handle the drawbacks of it on their end.

tax on my order would have been 4.80 so I have no idea where the 10.32 came from.

You think a company should swallow the fees? They'll just increase the price they charge you.

There's a standard fee for customs, 7.50, and then taxes. But I understand there is some confusion over how these charges originated, so any idea is as good as any other right now.
