I cracked the ME 3 files and found the keywords "drunk" and "drinking" used in some glasses and objects that were REPEATED throughout the game!
Also, I've heard more than one Bioware dev tweet about drinking!
Vega mentions drinking in the Hangar!
This Theory must be true! Anyone who says otherwise is an enemy that must be taken down with a great fury because we are HUGE fanatics that are averse to any intelligent debate at all!

And that lounge on the Normandy, surely we missed something there, what sort of bottles were those on the counter?
more importantly noticed the two differently colored bottle of booze, blue and red. which obviously symbolyses shepards morality and how it is affected by the booze.
good find ill add it to the op
There are four colours of alcohol in the game, Red, Blue, Green, and... Purple? Is there a secret hidden fourth ending?

Also, can I add that anyone who tries to disagree with this theory and argue about it must clearly just be trolling? You shouldn't feed the trolls, because if you don't feed them, they'll find it easier to get drunk and will come around to the theory eventually.

At the end he also had some options with the beer blimp (citadel). Hence why they centred it over earth:
1. Control the brewery.
2. Jump into the brewery vat so he can become one with the beer.
3. Blow it up so he successfully passed his AA test.
World's greatest thread. Ever. I would have definitely picked the synthesis ending.

Indoctrination theory: pretty much put to rest with the EC (well at least the "Bioware planned this all along" part of it...)
Intoxication theory: stronger than ever!
I'm going to celebrate the release of the EC with a nice strong dextro-amino-based liqueur. Or some boxed wine. Whichever I can get my hands on first!

Intoxication theory makes sense, if the devs werent purposefully trying to ruin this series of course they would be drunk then, they had to have been. **** I cant come up with something that rediculous when Im sober no way.
Indoctrination theory made sense a while ago, but now some ITers are stretching so far to find "evidence" that it just looks stupid now. They pointed out compelling signs a while ago, but now its just dumb.

Shepard's crew. Before each mission they polish off a quart of rye....each.
