I have a couple of points that lead to this theory!
The first is sharing a drink with Dr. Chakwas on the Normandy. In ME3, drinking with her looks like the renegade action, but I must point out that this is an illusion!
Also, in ME2, in Kasumi's room, there are red and blue liquors. If you mix them you get a pink/purple drink! Maybe this is a hint to the new ending we're expecting?
I have a question regarding that scene where you go and shoot bottles with Garrus on top of the Presidium. I mean, obviously those bottles are filled with some sort of alcohol, but what does it really mean?
I currently have two theories. The first is that he is trying to stage an intervention. If this is true, then if you shoot the last bottle, you stand a chance of conquering your alcoholism. If you miss, you mistakenly interpret his angry ranting for cheers of joy and fall irrevocably back into inebriated blis...ish-ness (couldn't think of the right word).
The second (and more likely one, I think) is that really Garrus is just being a drunken pal with you and you guys are actually doing shots instead of taking them. Maybe both.
They probably just don't want to acknowledge that we figured it out first. They're just going to retcon it in with the DLC and claim it was their idea the whole time. Really, the best option, though, given the evidence.

What do you guys think?
definitely think youre onto something, i expanded the garrus/shepard section.

it was their plan all along i just figured it out. they are the masters of storytelling. only bioware has the balls to make an entire a game a hullicination.

Still, right now, I am realizing... We are stuck by a massive hole in our theory:
What are husks?
hmmm what are husks perhaps they are clumbsy people, stumbling about indangering the alcohol you hold in your very hands, that is why you have to stop them?
The main symptoms of Delirium Tremens are confusion, diarrhea, insomnia, nightmares, disorientation and agitation and other signs of severe autonomic instability (fever, tachycardia, hypertension).[8] These symptoms may appear suddenly but can develop 2–3 days after cessation of drinking heavily with its highest peak/ intensity on the fourth or fifth day.[9] Also, these "symptoms are characteristically worse at night".[10] Other common symptoms include intense perceptual disturbance such as visions of insects, snakes, or rats. These may be hallucinations, or illusions related to the environment, e.g., patterns on the wallpaper or in the peripheral vision that the patient falsely perceives as a resemblance to the morphology of an insect. Unlike hallucinations associated with schizophrenia, delirium tremens hallucinations are primarily visual, in the peripheral field of vision, but are also associated with tactile hallucinations such as sensations of something crawling on the subject — a phenomenon known as formication. Delirium Tremens usually includes extremely intense feelings of "impending doom". Severe anxiety and feelings of imminent death are symptomatic of DT.
DT can sometimes be associated with severe, uncontrollable tremors of the extremities and secondary symptoms such as anxiety, panic attacks and paranoia. Confusion is often noticeable to onlookers as patients will have trouble constructing simple sentences or making basic logical calculations. In many cases, people who rarely speak out of turn will have an increased tendency for gaffes even though they are sober.
DT should be distinguished from alcoholic hallucinosis, the latter occurring in approximately 20% of hospitalized alcoholics and not carrying a significant mortality. In contrast, DT occurs in 5–10% of alcoholics and carries up to 15% mortality with treatment and up to 35% mortality without treatment.[2] DT is characterized by the presence of altered sensorium; that is, a complete hallucination without any recognition of the real world. DT has extreme autonomic hyperactivity (high pulse, blood pressure, and rate of breathing), and 35-60% of patients have a fever. Some patients experience seizures.
Look how he reacts, shaking with anger. It fits actually...

I think you're onto something. Shepherd's violent reactio to them is just because Shepherd is REALLY drunk and therefore easy to set off.
what about husks, cybernetic creatures or drunken patrons running away from something (what bioware tell us!) which makes more sense?!
Delirium Tremens explains it. These are angry customers looking for a fight. Shepard just imagine their skin is cybernetic through his DTs Hallucinations...
This theory actually as solid as the indoctrination one. Thats saying alot.
indoctrination theory is nothing but a bunch of people taking a theme of the game and applying facts completely out of context to support a very unlikely idea. That would be dumb. We don't do that here only facts!
I mean, really! Shepherd gets put together by terrorist group Cerberus, and the first place you're dumped off is the most wretched hive of scum and villainy in the galaxy. OBVIOUSLY Bioware knew we'd immediately go there and get drunk. It fits right in!
I'm bummed they never got around to showing my LI drunk, though. I mean, Ashley and Tali are obviously writer pets in this situation. Where's the love for Garrus? That turian brandy has to be on the Normandy for someone.
Oh Oh and not only are we sent to Omega but the Cerberus AI TELLS us to go to the bar.

why would bioware do that if this wasnt true, it wount make sense otherwise.
