Naah, he just has major trust issues.

"Oh Shepard, I do not trust you! I cannot trust you, or anyone else, ever again!"

+9000 for that reference!

And that game had a better ending than ME3

That's really bold...but even so, I think I can agree on that.

but that's not fair... KoTor spent a whole lot of time trying to make you think on the nature of the force and what exactly is it's relation to you

yeah it has an anti-climax ending but atleast you know what the endings mean!

Just wanna know for if an ending dlc ever comes out and I start ME1 again if kaiden is basically the same as ashley was in 2 and 3?

Play it safe: shoot him. Why take the chance that you will be nagged at? I gunned Ash down so fast I broke my controller into 7 pieces and the batteries ruptured and leaked acid all over the floor and burnt down into my basement which sucked cause abunch of big man eating spiders came out so I had to fight them with a blow torch while screaming 'COME AT ME BRO." That worked but my house burnt down. Its all good now; I rebuilt it a few minutes ago.

Ashley is nuts!

She proclaimed you God in Me2

What made her really nuts is she proclaimed you a God .. then jabbered at you for a couple minutes and walked away.

What the hell kind of way is that to treat a God?

MX2

I wish I could have done it to a certain other god that showed up, if you catch my meaning.  :bandit:

But yeah, that bit with her saying Shepard is a god was rather over the top.

Kreia gave some sense of closure on your crewmembers, at least.

As does the "Normandy crash" part in ME3 ending. And that's the problem with both games. You are running around with your squad all until the very end, then boom (Ebon Hawk crash/Harby's beam) your squadmates disappear, you have no idea what's going on with them and then you get the short "oh this will/have happened" without any explanation where the hell they've been the entire final mission, why the "abandoned" you etc. Neither you have any influence over their fate in the endings. Of course with KOTOR 2 we know the cut content and what was planned before LusacArts pushed the release forward 3 months, but the reasons for such endings in ME3 and KOTOR2 don't matter. In the end, both endings have similar problems regarding the main characters - squadmates/crew.

The rest of KOTOR2's ending was good, better than ME3's.

I lol'd. They really showed those people that kept saying he was just a Carth clone.

Kaiden isn't a Carth Clone...
His the sanest person on your squad!

now if Kaiden was a scrotch clone... Everybody would love him more then Garrus

Garrus is a prime example of a character who suffers from too much exposure. He doesn't even have anything interesting to say anymore. It's all either "brobrobro I'm so bro you're so bro" chit-chat or lots of talking about absolutely nothing. His arc and growth pretty much started and ended in ME1.

What? Garrus' arc was really basic in Me1... it didn't take off till Me2

I think Kaiden is considerably more tolerable than Ashley. The Cerberus angst runs deep within both, but Kaiden's apologetic while Ashley's just a damn cunt about the whole thing.

ME2 was just a show-off of what he already decided to do in ME1. And the loyalty mission had the same theme as his mission from ME1. And in ME3, it's either how badass Garrus is, how bro Garrus is or calibrations meme recycled 50 times. The only interesting part was about his family which many other characters also had little story arcs about their families.

Yeah I got Kaidan to back off pretty early on during Mars. After seeing that near husklike cerberus trooper, he started asking if they had done the same to you. I shot him down with "I have a mission to do, either you join me or not", something like that. He didn't say much of the matter after that. Haven't played my maleShep where Ashley is alive yet, but from what I've heard she's more obnoxious about it.

If Ash isn't your LI. Kill her.
Kaiden is more Eye Candy anyway. (For Shepard OR Cortez)

I'm probably a bit biased but while Kaidan isn't much in ME1 he transitions much more into the likeable kinda sensitive guy niche in ME3 (basically pandering to female kaidan romancers from ME1 and make him seem a more natural fit for the m shep romance option) he does bring up the issue but pretty much only on Mars and it seems to stem from his own insecurities rather than animosity and by the end of the game he was actually making jokes about cerberus improvements. Ashley on the other hand doesn't really drop the issue and her comments feel like personal attacks, she's just a less likeable character overall in ME3.

I do not know of ashley. I know of kaidan, who apparently think's I'm a Cerberus person thing even though I've killed a good amount of them by now.

Not really, especially if she's LI. However she doesn't drop the subject completely right until the..Cerberus HQ, I think. The problem is - you can't see her apologizing to Shepard properly if she's not your LI, she does that quite well in that scene and all is forgiven. However, she has some good lines in Shep's defense in Cerberus HQ regardless of her being a LI or not.  All in all, VS are both pretty similar where all things Cerberus are concerned.
But haters gonna hate on Ash anyway, so I doubt there's anything else to convince them otherwise.
Personally, I don't like Kaidan because he's a whiner and boring guy. Ashley is a stubborn girl, true, but if you delve deeper into her personal history and character, you can see where all of this is coming from, and it makes her more realistic and relatable peson than many other characters out there. But from what I've gathered gamers don't want realistic stuff, they want hot alien chicks fawning at them. So whatever.

Wow, guess I'm one of the few here who likes Ashley. Yes, she's flawed and has trust issues. That makes her seem more real to me, and I respect the fact that she is very upfront about the way she feels.

You're not the only one who loves Ash. Deepest and most real character in the series.

You're so right about Ashley, if you take the time and listen to what she has to say about her past and upbringing you can see where she is coming from. Most people are all "OMG RACIST RAAAAAAR." God forbid she be an actual person with flaws and stuff.

As for Kaidan, I liked him well enough, but he doesn't elicit very strong emotions for me.

Initially that scene really bothered me, then I thought back to the myriad of stupid things I've said in the heat of the moment. The follow-up letter made up for it anyway.

First playthrough i went with ash. Second kaiden, and luckily u can be pretty rude to them and (sorta) tell them to f**k off. Im so glad i got rid of them! If i could sacrifice both of them on virmire, i would.

ash was one of the more real characters I thought, she'll challenge you, even disagree strongly.

garrus, liara, tali, they just agree with whatever choice you make without complaint.
