If you defend Redcliffe and nobody dies you get a special helm from Bann Teagen and no funeral ceremony in the lake. Just did this today using Morrigan to Regeneration/Heal all of the Militiamen (On Nightmare).

Helm of the Red 1.75 Armor 2.48% Fatigue +1 Dexterity +10% Fire Resistance. Nice Compliment to the Wade's Set for fighting Dragons. Helm is heavy and has the Soldier's Helm graphic.

Hope this is useful, especially for those good guy RP'ers.
