Imported characters are messed up.

*While I'm already complaining, still can't register my game nor redeem any of the codes here*

Well obviously it's better for something to work than not work, (unless it's a puppy stabbing robot or something) but I'd say the CC's function was primarily as a demo of sorts and only secondarily as a tool to premake your character.
Wow seriously you are making excuses for Bioware, Mr. Fanboy!
The purpose of having the CC early is so that we can customize characters to our heart content to be used on day one. If the act of importing chars is going to force us to recreate them all over, the CC becomes pointless.

You were just making a joke, right? You were not seriously defending crappy software, were you?Lamey wrote...

I've made around a dozen, if not more, characters that I've been satisfied with, and another score or so that I wasn't too pleased with. I saved the good ones, thinking I could use them in the game eventually. Even though it appears as though I won't be able to do that, I'll still have the experience I got with the character creator before the release of the game.
I know what's possible, what's not possible, what looks good, what doesn't look good, and what works and what doesn't. What that does is ensuring that I'll have the skill to make characters I'm satisfied with right off the bat. That's at least something.
Plus, I think the Character Creator was mostly intended as hype to begin with. It's likely little but promotional material akin to the trailers, and never intended as a 'service to the community'.

When you finish your character, the final screen has a 'Save' button & an 'Upload Info' button. Save the character, then click that 'Upload Info' button. The current wait time for the character to make it to this Social Site (as of the time of this post) is roughly 24 hours.Sepultro wrote...
How do I even upload my Character?
Hope I helped.
Edit: Sepultro, my apologies, my memory buggered up on me. I had a wrong button label listed in my instructions, but I spotted the mistake while I was tweaking my Main Character, & have now fixed the info on this post. Hope it's more helpful now.

i noticed if, after selecting one of the characters i had made and going to the initial set up screen (choose sex, race, class, etc), if i hit previous (back to the character select screen), then next again, the proper settings were loaded.
edit - my mistake - go to the inital setup screen, then hit next one more time to get to the actual appearance editor. *then* click previous until you're back to the character select. you'll probably see the character's face change. now proceed next two screens again and (hopefully) you'll be back to normal.

My solution was to constantly reload the character until finally it came through allright.
The CC wasnt advertised as a showcase, and the game itself has an option to import a CC character, so it's obiously something that should be fixed.
But there is a workaround for it, though a bit daunting at first.

as for editing the char to fix it in the social.bioware listings, i tried to 'refresh' my uploaded character in the CC, the character still did not appear i deleted the character profile from the CC and deleted the blank character page from the social.bioware site that the CC created, but i could not reupload a character with the same name again.
the CC shows the newer character settings (i.e. sans facial tattoo/hair), the game imported the older character,
the social.bioware site doesn't show anything at all for that character, except it shows achievements that i've got so far for a character that doesn't show up.
i think if the social.bioware site didn't break something when it first imported the character, there would be no problem.
