Are we moving from hating the endings to hating the whole game already?

I won't slap a rating on it until they finish it.

My disapointment started during the intro of the game, on palaven I just stopped playing for few days, this level is on beta stage yet, and there are a lot of others. I really disliked citadel, it has no atmosphere now, there is no feeling that it is intergalactic station, and the wall of dead or missing is a joke, they'd better not do that at all, or better took some lessons from crysis developers here is example starts from 15 second http://www.youtube.c...?v=Fkf-cg_U2ao. The only level that i liked was cure the genophage, other were badly designed.
Side quest and n7 missions where boring as hell, same for from ashes. Either find an item or kill wave of enemies great designed bravo! Where are puzzle missions or mini games?
Choices matters - well not in this game.
Gameplay was better than in me2, but because of space "awsome" button I really hated it.
Journal was ****, and this is a most important thing in rpg, and they wanted to make rpg right?
And there are a lot of other issues. Never thought that bioware will end trilogy in such way.

HOWEVER, it was a rushed game, and it feels drastically unfinished compared to 1 and 2.
In my opinion, is it the best game in the series? Nope. Becuase of how rushed and unfinished it feels, 3 will never be my favorite. 2 has that spot so far.
ME3 has some great, beautiful moments though, most of them ones that made me cry, and I love the new squad mates ('cept Edi).
However, there's a lot of little glitchy **** that makes the game kind of obnoxious to play (Journal, not seeing a scene between Gabby and Ken unless you have Ashley) and a lot of things that could have been done way better (side quests).

It had some issues, a few bugs and the journal was arse but overall I loved the hell out of it....until the end.

It's not to the calibre of two (my favourite of the trilogy), nor one, but it deserves a heap of praise for much of the game.
Yet the ending is disastrous, easily displacing any joy I received from the rest of the game. The ending is indeed the only thing wrong that is worth noting.
Would I have liked more squadmate missions? Better non-squadmate romances? More effect from my choices (alla Rachni)? Better quest systems? Sure. Sure. But none of those things actually became a detriment to the game.
I didn't feel like it had too few side-quests, I felt it could have more. I didn't think the quest system was bad, I thought it could be better, I didn't find the non-squad romances unsatisfying, I just felt like they were too short. It had room to grow but it didn't disappoint.
The ending however actually brought down my entire hopes for the series crashing like a hull ruptured dreadnought. It was a disaster and needs to be fixed.
All the other things can be overlooked, but the ending is deplorable.

In ME1 they where just starting out and your squadmates didn't have much depth to them (ESPECIALLY the humans).
In ME2 the characters where great but there where simply too many of them, everything felt watered down to accomodate.
But in ME3 most of the characters where already developed to perfection and now they just got to talk and have moments with their fully defined personalities
Sure the side missions where mostly space fetch-quests and ME2 squadmate cameos, but the parts I cared about the most where cooked to perfection.

Sure. But I don't know if I can come to terms with the game not being as good as ME2. I mean, I wasn't expecting perfection. But at least, it should have been close to the same level of quality as ME2.

just finished ME1 (again^^) and about to take the reaper IFF in ME2 (again^^)
and it shows... ME3 was so rushed compared to ME1/2. There are sooo many things you could do in ME2. It was funny to buy Mass Effect novells at the citadell store for no reason or get some tasty food for the crew. there are so many sidequests, squadmates and stories.
in ME3 the focus was clearly to please the CoD / GoW crowd. action, more action, even more action (and explosions!) give them a little story (not too much, they don't like storytelling), give them sex and the jersey shore feeling and they will be happy
I just finished ME1 a week ago and I'm half way through ME2... that is not my impression.
Each game tends to focus on different things, never lingering on one aspect. ME1 was a great introduction to the world, but it never really developed it fully. ME2 was much more indepth. We had a look at cultures, races, and the whole world just seemed more alive. ME3 was all about war, so no doubt there was alot of action. The development was already there and the only thing they missed was the ending.
ME3 wasn't rushed. It just prioritised on things that the other two didn't. This whole "I hate all of ME3" thing really boils down to that last five minutes. People's hate of the ending really inflates their nitpicking. There were flaws, but in general, the game was very well done.

I think nearly all of us can agree, however, that everything else that is being discussed is relatively minor compared to the ending's problems. Still issues, but ones that can be glossed over or accepted.
EDIT: It could also be a coping mechanism. Some thought the series was 10/10, or something close to it. Then the ending comes and punches them in the gut. Then they look back, pick out things that were bad or didn't make sense, in an effort to convince themselves "eh, it wasn't really THAT good" and diminish their pain.

I think it's either different people or more people playing through more than once. Before my second play through I wish just upset by the endings. Then the more I played through it the more limited I realized the SP was (since I'd basically rushed through it the first play through)
this is also partially because my second play through was with a shepard 100% different from my first, and I was expecting there to be major differences in the play throughs, and there were virtually none.

Mass Effect 3 has a lot of problems. None of them bring my opinion of it down in any significant way. I would have preferred better exploration, a few crazy bugs removed (Head tracking issues, for example), Less "Forced choice" dialog, and a few moments in the game that relieve the overly tense atmosphere of the reaper invasion. If we ignore the endings, I'd say Mass Effect 3 is an A- game at worse. With the endings that undo the entire trilogy, I'd say it's a D+ game right now. (C+ if taken on its own merits, ignoring the damage done to previous entries)
I'd say A-/B+ is about what I'd give the game sans ending. It's not a bad game, it's just that I was expecting an A++. I know bugs are inevitable but things like auto-dialogue and lack of side missions, and just the third act (from Cerebus to the end) was overwhelming.

To be fair, this wasn't even close to the quality ME1 or ME2 was.
A lot of the hate is justified, then again a lot of it isn't.
I know, I would just like something to let me know when what I'm complaining about has already become old hat.
Well actually i thaught the game was worse after i finished it, then when i was playing it. Mass Effect 3 is an AWESOME game except the end. But there i no avoiding there where some gaping faults with it, i igonred all of them while playing it because the good was just so damn good (story and emotional commitment) and the combat was imo superb.
But then after hitting that ending, all the flaws just got bigger. The quest system sucked big time. Theres lot of glicthces here and there. Reused weapons and armor, especially armor (weapons where ok since there was so many). Bad texturing in some places. Bad ****ing boss fight (rannoch). Really crap side mission (basically the multiplayer maps). And the stupid amount of "fetch" quests. And lets not forget the biggest blunder except the ending, namly the war assets, which does nothing for the game what so ever (yeh yeh, u get breathing shep, and not blowing upp big ben, but you dont see them, theyre not called in. You dont use them for anything).
So when i take the ending into consideration, which for me broke the amazing stroy, and emotional commitment, the game went from 9/10 to a 6/10 (mediocre+).

I still think it's a grat game, just not worthy as the end of this series. Not by a long shot! It could have easily been. The potential was there, it just was't used.

It is not perfect, I could change some things, but there is always like that:)
But the ending is kind of unaceptable for me.

After the ending: 5/10 - Endings make no sense.
It feels like a 0/10 now though simply because I regret ever playing this series. Never would have if I knew it was going to end like this. Damn shame.

This.
I made completionist run through ME1 twice and one run through ME2 once right before I played ME3 and I feel the same way about the series.
