I used the Phaeston during my first playthrough, but I decided to give the Sabre a try. I powered it up to VII and took it to Palaven to try it out. Holy crap. I. Love. That. Gun. :D Who else has found their favorite gun with the Sabre?

That really sucks considering how far into the game it is.

Saber is fantastic on a soldier. Extended mags + adrenaline rush means you never have to reload.

Anyone mind how can i find the Sabre? I have already acquired the Phaeston.

Graal Spike Thrower, or Wraith?

You find the Sabre in the last room of Sanctuary in the first pod up the ramp. You have to unlock the pods with a console at the end of the room. The Graal is sitting on a rail when the Makos stop on Tuchanka because of the road. Wraith you buy from the Spectre offices.

I like the Graal personally. It weighs a bit more, but it has better clip size, rof and stopping power.

And it shoots spikes. Which will then be sticking out from your enemies. It's glorious

Personally I dont like the M99 Sabre >.<" Tis a waste of ammo power on soldiers imo. If I wanted something with a punch, I'd take a shotgun.

The only Assault Riffle I hate more is the M55 Argus, that is a total piece of !#@#@ I would rather take the Avenger then those 2.

I always try to take 1 precision weapon, and for me, that's the M99. It's got the accuracy of a sniper rifle with a superior rate of fire to all but 2, maybe 3 of the snipers, with as much, or more punch to it.

My other weapon is the Cerberus Pistol, I forget the name/number, but you get it in the Coup attempt if you unlock the door and go back for it. I think it's called the Talon. Freaking shotgun in pistol form. lol

The problem is it weighs the same as a shotgun, too, hence its pointless - unless you wanted to carry two different shotguns for some reason. You might as well carry a normal shotgun.

It's good for companions who can't use shotguns if you want to give them something similar

That's true, I suppose. I guess it would be a good choice for Javik.

My Infiltrator Shepard is using it with a scope and extended mags. It combines the Mattock and the Viper into one weapon. I also use it in multiplayer for my human soldier.

I dunno, I was never able to get comfortable with the N7 gear.

The Eagle is, in theory, a great heavy pistol being the only fully-auto HP, but in a game with such a host of effective submachine guns that can be made as light as feathers, and no weapon class constraints, it really doesn't do anything that you couldn't do better with an SMG.

The Hurricane has a blistering rate of fire but its recoil leaves it being largely useless outside of near point-blank range. Typically you end up wasting its rate of fire as you need to shoot in bursts to hit in the first place. That said, it makes for a reasonable replacement for a shotgun. Its the only N7 weapon I bother with.

The Crusader is just a waste of time. It's basically an incredibly heavy version of the Paladin that sits in your shotgun slot, totally useless.

The Valiant isn't a bad Sniper Rifle and has a negligble recoil, but it kind of sits on the unhappy medium between the Mantis and Viper - it's never going to manage one-hit-kills but it's never going to keep up with the rate of fire of Viper either. It's not even that much more powerful than the Viper on a per shot basis.

The Valkyrie is basically a massively heavy Vindicator with a bit more punch. Hell, it's as heavy as the vastly superior Particle Rifle.

To be honest, the N7 weapons were real disappointments, all things considered. I'm just glad there was better stuff in game and in From Ashes.

It weighs quite a bit more, and only when charged does it have better stopping power. Not charged the Graal has considerably less stopping power. Also while the Wraith has 1 less shot in its clip then the Graal, it reloads noticeably faster, pistol speed. The Graal is really cool though, and one can almost snipe with it.

What class are we talking for?

Word on the Valkyrie, I made mine lighter in coalesced. There's no way it's on par with the Saber, Falcon and other heavyweight AR's.

I'm holding off modding until I've done a few pure playthroughs.

But you're right, I dunno why they made the Valkyrie so heavy. It just isn't worth it. Its scarcely an alternative to the Vindicator in terms of performance.... but for some reason, weighs the same as the Revenant and the Particle Rifle.

To be honest, I think the devs lost the plot a bit with the N7 weapons in general. Here we have a set of guns where the heavy pistol thinks its an SMG, the SMG thinks its a shotgun, and the shotgun thinks its a heavy pistol.

Whatever. The Hurricane is a fantastic piece of kit but its the only N7 weapon I carry, and that's purely because its the only specialist close-range weapon in the game that doesn't weigh the same as an adult polar bear.

I dunno why, but the Alamar promotional items are above par. Armor can be discarded, but the Chakram Launcher is overpowered more then most weapons, and it doesn't weigh a ton.

Ya I give it to Javik and Kaiden, really great short range weapon for them.
