Stupid Question is stupid. It's not like playing a FemShep would explore things I could never have in RL and suddenly make me feel like a woman. The only difference is hooking up with dudes, and heck, that I could have.
Why do so many IRL males play a male Shepard?

The only answer from me is that I don't even want to see the conversation options with other male characters.
The FemShep to female crew LI is a good reason though to play as FemShep.

The disturbing part of your point is that you actually assume people stare at the player's 3D model ass while playing...
The only ass I stared at in the ME series was Miranda's, because of the obvious camera angles.
