this is true, but at least you can do combos and shoot your gun every once in a while on the sentinel. whereas the VG revolves around charge-nova faceroll, eliminating the need for anything else.
Not true. You can use Nova only sometimes, leaving much of the work for your shotgun. It is your own problem if all you do is Nova/Charge spam.

At times... shooting the enemy with the shotgun is more effective than doing a Nova; Ravager
At times, rolling behind an enemy and shoot it with the shotgun is much faster; Brute.

no, it's everyone's problem. why the hell would you do anything but that which is the most effective for your class? charge-nova spam is the best way to clear enemies, and you never ever even come close to getting hurt. if you wanna impose artificial challenges for yourself, go right ahead. but dont deny that BW made some dismal design decisions.

are we even playing the same game? nova has just as much range as a shotty, and does just as much damage, except to everything around you.

I have yet to play class in ME3 SP (played Vanguard, Infiltrator, Sentinel and Engineer) that would not riducle any and all enemies ME3 throws at you.
From my experience you can add soldier to that list.

Range? I am shooting from point blank most of the time. Nova's animation is longer than firing my shotgun and it does not do as much damage to a single target. Yes, it does have AOE damage but I dont always need that, for clustered enemies, the incendiary burst works fine for me.
And no, Nova does not have the range of a shotgun. MOD properly, shotguns is deadly even at medium range.
Or perhaps I am wearing mostly the standard N7 gear and not something like inferno +30% power/recharge.

yeah, try nova with MAXED power damage =S it's ridiculous.
I can one-shot a guardian after a charge but you cannot do that with 10 nova.

Haha. Well, it seems all classes are too powerful. Enemies are underpowered. I would like to see extra difficulty mode, much more difficult than Insanity. Instead of cheap HP/Shield boost, I would welcome double or triple the number of enemies per mission and they should deal more damage. Would be a ton of fun.

Yeah, instead of a high-res pack I much rather have BW use the superior power of todays PCs to overwhelm Shep with enemies!
Not likely going to happen though
I would pay a lot of money for this if that helps convince the EA/BW board of directors

Nerfing Nova isn't going to make playing a Vanguard 'hard'. I personally don't use it unless I'm versus Ravagers. Make house rules if you want to challenge yourself. I just let my squad auto cast now, and I make my cooldowns around 100%. It makes it slightly harder, but not enough to get a challenge out of.

Only on difficulties less than veteran. Using nova-spam on insanity will send you back to your last save pretty quickly.

nope. have you tried it? with 200% recharge, you can spam charge nova ad infinitum. youre fine as long as youve got something in your LOS to lock onto.
oh well, as long as i ignore my fav class, and play the other ones, SP on insanity can remain semi enjoyable.
Try it in the courtyard in Grissom Academy on Insanity and let me know how it works out.

Enemies deal tons of damage already. Compared to ME2 it feels like they do more damage, probably because you have way fewer invulnerability frames when your shields go down and you now take permanent damage to health.I would welcome double or triple the number of enemies per mission and they should deal more damage. Would be a ton of fun.
I wouldn't mind an enhanced difficulty mode with more enemies/more challenging enemy compositions, but definitely don't ramp up enemy damage or health, that would just make things frustrating rather than challenging.

All the classes have a way of making Insanity easy. As a Sentinel or Adept you literally just spam Warp and Throw all game and take zero damage throughout the whole game. Infiltrator is untouchable with Cloak. Engineer has like three extra allies. Vanguards have Nova/Charge spam.

What weapons do you carry? I wanted to do Claymore Vanguard run, but I am not sure when I am gonna have the time to do so. Should be possible to get around 100% recharge bonus with Claymore V.

I think your shields last longer in ME3. And there is fewer enemies in general imho. I have not played ME2 for some time now though.

I had a lot of fun with my Energy Drain Infiltrator running with a Wraith and Valiant. It gave me about 80%~ cd reduction around a 4.5s-5s Energy Drain and Cloak. Used Cryo ammo exclusively and it felt a lot like Scrogublitzen's Reave Infiltrator. I want to NG+ that character and try it with the Raider and Valiant higher weapon ranks oughta get the weight around 80-100%. Raider looks really insane for an Infiltrator.
Yeah Claymore V is like 120% IIRC. I used it for a while on my Vanguard. I eventually settled for the Graal + Paladin combo which was around ME2 speed charge cooldown.

Some of us want to feel like badasses and some of you want to feel like the enemies are badasses and get slapped around by them all game.
Don't ruin my game just because you don't have the game you want.

I got my insanity achievements without breaking a controller (again, see Ninja Gaiden 2), and imo that's a good thing.
Besides, the only reason it's easier than ME2 is the core gameplay element of needing to strip defenses has been gutted. Unless they re-programmed the entire combat system to add another defense to every enemy, it's not getting any harder (your damage is already sufficient to blast through an entire "bar" of defense in one action... without +200%).
Just play multi-player if you want the game to be harder, SP is where it's going to stay.

Cap it to 120% and i think a lot of the "OP" problems with VG and other classes get solved.
