Is there some trick to this? I've been at this for 3 days now and its starting to get very annoying.

Shoot it.

Not much more to say for that one. When I was playing my first Shepard (on insanity too), both the husks and the Marauder took me by surprise (the latter not so much though) and I was playing at something like 4 a.m. after a six or so hour SP marathon. Got past in the very first instance, so I don't really see any problems with. Note that I do NOT want to belittle your efforts or anything like it.

If you have trouble with it, go for headshots, it goes down quickly and you can stun lock it with repeated headshots.

Stasis is very helpful on Marauders. Otherwise overload can one shot their shields and stun them for a second or two. Energy Drain works good to. If you remove the shield, you really have to stay on top of them until they are dead otherwise they recharge.

Its too hard to aim properly. I actually got it down to 1 hp, but I always end up getting killed. Man I wish I knew how to hack my PS3, I would really love a aimbot right about now. This boss fight is so unfair, I have basically no chance to defend myself.

I gave up for now, before I break something. I seriously hope Bioware considers adding a autosave after the 3 husks. The most annoying thing about this is the fact I have to see all of it over and over again.

Duh, okay, PS3 explains the problem. Am playing on a PC myself, so aiming is obviously easier. Well, all I can say then is sleep it over, have a nice breakfast, drink something juicy you like and then start over. Works like a charm 99% of the time.

Try this. You do not have to go for the head. Just make sure you do not miss. In case you miss it, you can actually "zoom and aim". So, jusy aim for the torso and make sure you do not miss. If you miss, he will return fire.

Try moving slightly to your right as you regain control of your character. You'll be in better position to kill the husks quickly, and for some reason, I found it easier to aim at the marauder from there.

YMMV, of course.

You don't have powers in the fight with Marauder Shields so I'm not convinced that stasis is the answer.

However, Marauder is briefly staggered by hits - any hits. You might want to switch for a faster-firing pistol. Much like those bringing only the Scorpion to fight Eva you might have to restart the level.

I had this problem to with my 1st play through. I was so excited to see the ending (insert joke here) that i turn it down from insanity. What ive read online is this.

1st stop moving. You will aim better.
2nd as long as you do not miss he will not kill you. So headshot will kill him faster but his body is bigger so aim there.
3rd if you miss once its over. Again thats why aiming for the body makes sense.

I have not tried it myself. Just what i have read from other threads on topic.

And it was sooooooo frustraighting to go through the whole game on insanity just to have mr shields beat me. Especially after that fight trying to shoot off those missles at london. Thank god adept is OP.

It took me about 12 tries, of which 3 were simply done the following morning, wherein I lucked out. For advice, you can fire slightly faster than your aiming reticule will refocus, often leading you to miss shots. Even if it takes a half-second longer, make sure you hit what your aiming at.
As for easing your husks, notice that each husk will delay about a second upon reaching melee range with Shep. If you've been able to stagger a couple as they run up, you can easily take aim and hit each one in the head as they stop. It took me about 3 pathetic deaths before I noticed this.
As for the Marauder, you seem to need about 7 fairly rapid shots to take him down on insanity, so remaining calm will definately help your cause.

Last, the main thing is accuracy, you pretty much have to nail every shot, so I'd say take a previous save, where you were able to access the citadel shooting range, and practice for 20 minutes with rapidly losing and reaquiring your target. The lack of stress should help you improve, and then just bear with it over a week or so. One time, by fluk or skill, you'll eventually win through. Just don't chuck a controller in frustration.

I turned the sensitivity down to the low setting for this encounter. This makes the over-aiming that happens when you move the reticle past the aim assist point less dramatic.

Make sure you aren't moving forward(Backwards or strafing) anymore while facing Marauder Shields, this negates a lot of the "Slow Time" (Time Dialation) effect, allowing him to kill you much faster.

Next, you really need Headshots. On Insanity, you simply can't kill him fast enough with less than 3 headshots scored.

Here's a helpful hint:

You need to headshot him to drop his shields in time, BUT....once his shields are down you can chain stagger him with body shots until he is dead. He won't fire back once his shields are down if you spam shots into his torso. The key is getting that early head shot off to get his shields down fast. Take your time, line it up, don't be moving forward as others have said.

I have to agree, as somebody who took 6+ tries or so on each playthrough I really wish an autosave existed after the husk swarm.

I did that and I got him down to 1 hp. Then the idiot killed me again. I almost throw my controller at the wall.

Stay to the right, stop, aim and keep shooting. Body shots are fine.

Pistol selection doesn't matter, you have the only gun left from me1 with no cool down penalty to boot.
FWIW Xbox users have power usage if they have a kinect. Doesn't help OP though.

It is surprisingly annoying; took me at least half a dozen attempts.

Standing still makes it easier. I tried to get a few headshots in first, and then unload on body shots.

It's a lot eaiser if you don't use L1 to aim

Around 10 attempts with L1 and no luck.

Got him 2nd attempt without using L1.

In my first run he killed me 5 times in a row in the early hours of the morning so I turned the difficulty down. I was extremely frustrated. Second run for whatever reason it was much, much easier. Could have been the upgraded pistols, could have been the fact I knew you just had to shoot him rather than do some other trick. Just try shooting him in the chest without missing.

If you sidestep to the right a little before you move forward enough to cause him to appear (after the husks) he has to go around the bit of cover he pops out from and you'll be closer to him. This, plus several headshots, is the way I finally did it the two times I've gotten past him.

Hope that helps!

Wish I could give some tips for this, but sadly enough I'm stuck on the freakin husks on insanity. -_- I can't for the life of me get them down. Not being used to shooters and my only shooter experience has been me 1, 2 and 3, and only within the last 2 months... yeah aiming is not my strong point. I miss more than I hit. So if I have to use a lot of headshots to kill those things don't think I'm ever going to get to the ending on insanity. *sigh* If only I could use powers...

Teaches me for being partial to Sentinels and Adepts where I use powers more than guns.  :P

Anyway, any tips for the husks for a newb novice like me? lol
