Not much more to say for that one. When I was playing my first Shepard (on insanity too), both the husks and the Marauder took me by surprise (the latter not so much though) and I was playing at something like 4 a.m. after a six or so hour SP marathon. Got past in the very first instance, so I don't really see any problems with. Note that I do NOT want to belittle your efforts or anything like it.
If you have trouble with it, go for headshots, it goes down quickly and you can stun lock it with repeated headshots.

YMMV, of course.

However, Marauder is briefly staggered by hits - any hits. You might want to switch for a faster-firing pistol. Much like those bringing only the Scorpion to fight Eva you might have to restart the level.

1st stop moving. You will aim better.
2nd as long as you do not miss he will not kill you. So headshot will kill him faster but his body is bigger so aim there.
3rd if you miss once its over. Again thats why aiming for the body makes sense.
I have not tried it myself. Just what i have read from other threads on topic.
And it was sooooooo frustraighting to go through the whole game on insanity just to have mr shields beat me. Especially after that fight trying to shoot off those missles at london. Thank god adept is OP.

As for easing your husks, notice that each husk will delay about a second upon reaching melee range with Shep. If you've been able to stagger a couple as they run up, you can easily take aim and hit each one in the head as they stop. It took me about 3 pathetic deaths before I noticed this.
As for the Marauder, you seem to need about 7 fairly rapid shots to take him down on insanity, so remaining calm will definately help your cause.
Last, the main thing is accuracy, you pretty much have to nail every shot, so I'd say take a previous save, where you were able to access the citadel shooting range, and practice for 20 minutes with rapidly losing and reaquiring your target. The lack of stress should help you improve, and then just bear with it over a week or so. One time, by fluk or skill, you'll eventually win through. Just don't chuck a controller in frustration.

Next, you really need Headshots. On Insanity, you simply can't kill him fast enough with less than 3 headshots scored.

You need to headshot him to drop his shields in time, BUT....once his shields are down you can chain stagger him with body shots until he is dead. He won't fire back once his shields are down if you spam shots into his torso. The key is getting that early head shot off to get his shields down fast. Take your time, line it up, don't be moving forward as others have said.

I gave up for now, before I break something. I seriously hope Bioware considers adding a autosave after the 3 husks. The most annoying thing about this is the fact I have to see all of it over and over again.
I have to agree, as somebody who took 6+ tries or so on each playthrough I really wish an autosave existed after the husk swarm.

I did that and I got him down to 1 hp. Then the idiot killed me again. I almost throw my controller at the wall.

You don't have powers in the fight with Marauder Shields so I'm not convinced that stasis is the answer.

Pistol selection doesn't matter, you have the only gun left from me1 with no cool down penalty to boot.
FWIW Xbox users have power usage if they have a kinect. Doesn't help OP though.

Standing still makes it easier. I tried to get a few headshots in first, and then unload on body shots.

Teaches me for being partial to Sentinels and Adepts where I use powers more than guns.
Anyway, any tips for the husks for a newb novice like me? lol
