This section wouldnt be so bad if I didn't have to fight through the husks over and over again. For the love of god Bioware, add a autosave after the husks or replace this section with a cutscene.

Moving to the left helps for me because I found it hard to see the blue cross hair to see where I was aiming when he was stood between Shepard and the beam, as the beam is too close in colour to see the blue x clearly, moving round so he's not directly in your path can make it easier to see and therefore aim better ^.^

Anyway, any tips for the husks for a newb novice like me? lol

Just stay as far back as possible and keep shooting at the one closest to you. You don't have to do anything special. If you are really having trouble try not even using the right mouse (or consol equivalent) to aim. In that dazed state it seems to take too long to be effective although I'm not 100% sure on that.

Tried that (I'm on xbox) and it did seem to help a bit, managed to get them all down twice then Marauder killed me.  heh.  Mostly though only getting one, maybe two down at a time.

I really feel like such a novice.  -_-

LOL! Marauder Shields "Boss Fight."

The fact that it's been named "Marauder Shields" is funny in itself but to now call it a boss fight is just hilarious!

The husk only took me 2 tries on insanity, I used my paladin X. The last husk I killed while he was in middle of swinging his arm to hit me. Just aim for the head or chest. The Marauder is easy, he just hit you once and keep gettin knocked back if you keep fire on him.

Just have your gun aimed at his head level before he comes around the wall. Hit nothing but head and he will go down easy.

He's really hard to kill on 'insanity' because he is really determined to save you from the endings.
The reason it's called 'insanity' mode in the first place is that you will go insane after fighting through all the super tough battles to get the very same ending.

Ps, I found it harder to kill Dr Eva than Mr Shields, I just headshotted him a couple of times, then spammed his chest while i stood still. Actually, IMHO the husks were the hardest bit about that bit cos it was going REALLY jerky at the time.

I don't read the ME3 forums that often, so I am completely lost here.

What section with Marauders is so difficult?  And all Marauders I run into have shields...

Lol it took me a bit to realize what you are referring to.
Headshot? I didn't even know you could die during that scene.

MP is a good practice for headshotting. Get a Carnifex/Paladin and work on your twitch aim.

Capn, he's referring to the Shep's crawl to the final teleporting beam on Earth.

I HAD A VERY TOUGH TIME ON INSANITY UNTIL I REALIZED:

1) YOU DON'T HAVE TO HIT HIM BEFORE HE HITS YOU THE FIRST TIME
2) YOU CAN TAKE YOUR TIME TO LINE UP YOUR FIRST SHOT
3) YOU DON'T HAVE TO HIT HIM IN THE HEAD AT ALL!!!! SO LONG AS YOU HIT IN RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CHEST ON EVERY SHOT... THIS MADE IT A LOT EASIER!!!

If you're still having issues with the 3 husks, take a second to hit each one once as they run up to Shep, so that they arrive in single order, with successful repeated hits targeted to stagger their arrival as much as possible. Keep doing this until the first husk arrives at Shep, wherein they stand still for half a sec before swinging and killing you. If you're steady, you can easily line up a head shot on each husk as they line up. This was pretty much a requirement for my playthroughs, as the husks moved to much to let me line up a head shot as they ran up, and the only way I found to successfully take them out in time was with a head shot each, torso shots just couldn't take enough life out of them to nail all three in time..
Lastly, you might practice target shooting on the range from coming out of a roll, just to improve your ability to sight the moving target.

Yes because its in slow motion and you are constantly staggering, it messes with your precision with the controls.  With a PC your mouse cursor doesn't slow down dramatically does it?    It took me several times on insane but finally I gave up hitting him in the head multiple times and just pegged him in the chest multiple times, it kept himm staggered.

If you are still have problems after doing this adjust your control sensitivities to very low so you don't over compensate.

A total ass of an encounter, worthless for the time of game it is at, only adds to the rage of waht comes after. I actually found that trying head shots was a bad thing for me because it's tough to hit. It worked much better when I just aimed for the big part of the body. It seemed more important to get hits than location for me.

You have to beat the game to understand

Nope... I had already beaten the game twice and have all the achievements. If I hadn't beaten the game then I wouldn't have asked because I would have imagined it was a section I hadn't reached yet.

Now that someone has explained which section I do understand. I have not had a problem with that guy, nor do I anticipate having a problem with him at any point in the future.

Yeah, basically Marauder Shields is a running joke, where that last Marauder before stepping into the Conduit is trying to save you from the rest of the ending.

Ha, well that makes it actually funny.  I am of course sympathetic to jokes about the ending... see my "sig."

Is there some trick to this? I've been at this for 3 days now and its starting to get very annoying.

The trick would be get a PC with a mouse so you don't have aiming problems? Sorry but it's not difficult at all, at least it shouldn't.
Consoles since the PS2 sported USB ports. And some games on it (esp shooters) supported mouse/keyboard. I can't see why they don't do that anymore.

Aim for head, I had the same problem trying to get past Eva on Mars, but if you hit the head... I think.
