Although you are being a douchebag, I totally support this idea. I love running around as the post apocalyptic cowboy in Fallout 3/NV. I would love to be the space cowboy in Mass Effect. Now all we need is a lever action mass effect style rifle.Mazandus wrote...

LOL @ AR's and SMG's
I've already said far too much on this matter, so let me just say this. If BW wanted to go for the whole space cowboy thing, all pistoles and riiiiiiiiiiifles, then perhaps some artistic changes are in order for the rest of the game? Or is that why you blow everything up at the end? To make Firefly Effect? Or, if BW was going for the whole Federation Phaser set to stun thing, perhaps the phasers (ie hvy pistols) should fire beams of energy instead of projectiles, or again is this why you blew up all the Mass Relays? So we can have warp drives?
I'm pretty sure it's peeestols and rahfles in the wahld west
Next balance change adds another customization option for each class: style of Cowboy hat
lol, yes you are right. peeeeestols and rahfles.
+100 for cowboy hat idea though. Would look epic on Turian.

Falcon Assault Rifle
- Damage increased from [215.0-268.8] to [279.2-349.0]
Did you made an typo in the stats damage or was Falcon's stats damage decreased from the previous changes which didn't get posted other than its changes made to RoF?
According to the google ME3 weapons stats spreadsheet, it has 100% accurate stats that's identical to weapons stats info posted here.
Its damage stats was [325.7-407.1]

Base damage before level ups and class talents.

GPR is Gold. Phaeston is silver. What's wrong with this random lottery system having direct upgrades? Isn't that the point of rarity?

Having a weapon outclass another one in every aspect is not what I'd call 'balanced', especially in a system where all of the weapons are supposed to be viable.

And it's still viable. Just not as good. Which is the whole point behind rarity. Exclusiveness should equal quality unless the Exclusiveness is decided by an outside force (Such as cash)

I disagree. Rares (and ultra-rares) should add diversity to the pool of weapons. I like how the current ultra-rares are set up. Some of them are either really weird weapons for their respective category (Talon, Scorpion) or add flavor.CheetahZ1 wrote...

Take the Widow and its ultra-rare substitutes, the BW and the Jav. The Widow is your baseline - I'm ignoring the Mantis - I-shoot-you-in-the-face-and-do-tremendous-damage bolt action rifle. The BW modifies that concept to an extent, sacrificing stopping power and penetration in favor of clipsize. The Javelin represents the other extreme: ultra-high stopping power and penetration, REALLY low spare ammo (and now even higher weight).
That's how it should be (imo, YMMV): higher rarity (is that a phrase? english is not my first language :/) weapons add variety, leaving the effectiveness of lower rarity weapons untouched.

Glad to see claymore getting appreciated. Was my first gold weapon to X so I made a Krogan soldier to give it a try out. Did it just to be silly and annoy my friends
You were supposed to be annoying me? Hmm. Should I spank you for trying to annoy me, or simply let you wallow in your failure?

Agreed. Would suck if everyone used Gold and N7 weapons only after a few months because they are "the best". Rare weapons shouldn't necessarily be better, but as you said rather offer a new mechanic or different playstyle. Variety is golden, except in games like CS

Ok cool damage boost that's nice. But this pistol almost weights the same as my Geth plasma shotgun lX. They need to change it back the way it was now!

Hey Bioware, here's an interesting idea... why don't you just stop nerfing and buffing stuff and instead FIX THE DAMN BUGS. That would be great.
You realzie bug testers =! gameplay designers(or whoever is doing the balancing for multiplayer) and that it's far simpler to make changes to weapon damage and such than it is to fix bugs. Changes to damage, encumbrance, rof, etc only requires basically a change in the spreadsheet while bug fixes require them to isolate what's causing the bug, change it, then make sure they don't cause any other bugs as a result of the changes.

Wow? Really? LAME. Guess I won't be using that weapon then. That's the whole damn point of using a PISTOL afterall. Carnifex all the way, especially since I actually have a carnifex but no paladin, lol.
