At all.

Here's exactly what happened as well as I understand it. I purchased
the Digital Deluxe edition from the origin website. Everything
downloaded and installed no problem. I ran the game and got about 5
seconds into the first logo screen and my PC crashed. When I restarted
everything and tried to run the game nothing happens.

I can run it from origin and get the "Launching" pop-up, then the
"online" in the corner will switch to playing mass Effect 3 for a split
second then back ot online.

This has persisted through multiple re-installs and repairs. I've
also tried every remedy from this forum. Run as administrator, replace 2
.dll files, update all device drivers, etc.

The only thing I can think of to do is reinstall window, which is too much trouble for a game

I'm having a similar problem. I get the "launching" pop-up, then nothing happens. In "Task Manager" it shows that it is actually running MassEffect3.exe, but the process is only 600Kb in size. If I end the process and re-launch ME3 from Origin it will often work on the third or fourth attempt. It worked without any problem for the first few months, but the last Origin update seems to have messed things up.

Getting this problem at times when trying to play ME3. SP/MP, doesn't matter, it simply won't run the game when I start it. Origin starts up, and the synch/launch tab opens for ME3, then it quickly vanishes leaving ME3 running at under 240k memory. Doesn't seem to be any real way to sort it atm, apart from trying over and over with restarts until it finally runs.

Have we got any official word on this at all, given many people are having this issue, and as of yet I've not been able to track down any news release about it being known or looked into?

Same here. ME3 shows in task manager running with small memory and nothing else. happened soon after downloading latest dlc. Let's see how many weeks this is gonna take til it get noticed by devs.

possibly related to origin update it is an ongoing problem that much like the othr bugs in ME3 is unlikely to ever be fixed.

Same issue. I hadn't played in several weeks. First attempt yesterday resulted in the same issue where it start to run and then just gives up. Task manager has it listed under processes. Second attempt it worked for me. Now today I tried it 4 times and no luck. This is perfect timing with the extended ending coming out in 2 days.

I had same issue after i installed last origin update and Rebellion DLC, but turning off my antivirus/firewall (ZoneAlarm security) solved the issue.

Turning off antivirus/firewall...

Not sure I trust a solution that requires me to turn off my machine's protection.

I repeatedly shut down the process and tried again, it never actually started up.

I have been having the same problem. But if I don't have Fraps running when I first try and run ME3 it starts up just fine. I have tried closing Fraps after ME3 won't start and it still won't run. I am just wonder if Fraps is somehow interfering with Origin, or ME3.

I was able to get it to run yesterday on the 6th try (shutdown the ME3 EXE in task manager and restart it). Today it worked on the second try. But, I didn't have the Rebellion DLC installed.

I'm posting here for the same 600KB problem.
Just so that someone can see it.

My problem is even worse than all of your described;
my only successful attempt for the PAST MONTH has been:
 - the two attempts after upgrading for video card drivers (thanks to Customer support),
 - the two attempts after upgrading the game LAST NIGHT, June 26, 2012 (actually nothing was upgraded, and Extended Cut was not available)

And, for the rest attempts, regardless of how many times I tried, nothing worked.

Here are some experiments I've done, none of them worked:
 1. repair
 2. re-install/delete all cache, all local installation files then reinstall
 3. relaunch in Origin/with actual exe/with actual exe in admin mode after ending MassEffect3.exe with "end process"
 4. relaunch in Origin/with actual exe/with actual exe in admin mode after ending MassEffect3.exe with "end process tree" (something like that)
 5. try "check for update" on already updated version
 6. reinstall/upgrade sound card drive and relevant software
 7. turnnng off my firewalls
 8. shut down any processes that did not come with this computer (meaning everything except what HP and Microsoft provided)
 9. change default "Non uni-code program's language" (something like that, in your control panel) into English, US
 10.use wifi instead of cable
etc.

Two weeks ago, which is about 12 business days ago, I was promised by a representative in an email to have this issue escalated to his superior, and no response ever since. And when I wrote to them again last weekend, there was not even any response.

Let me know if you see any solution, or know any way to get them heard.

I know programming is hard, and as an amateur programmer I know I probably shouldn't judge those who are skillful enough to make program as intricate as the Mass Effect games, but, seriously, NO ONE I KNOW EVER HEARD OF ANY BLIZZARD GAME THAT DOES NOT EVEN LAUNCH.

ps. games I played between the attempts: Diablo III (Witch Doctor in Inferno Act 2, anyone interested?), Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty (I'm still in gold but that's just the rank, anyone interested?) - the presence of these game might be the root of problem itself, just to be fair.

uhm, its not actually biowares fault or ME 3 fault. Its origins fault, its broken since the last origin patch and games dont launch properly.

Same thing happens to me from time to time and only way to start the game is by accessing the Task manager and manually shutting off the ME 3.exe whcih sits on 980 kb memory usage.....

Just keep shutting the process down until the game launches, oh and dont launch it from origin, use a desktop shortcut or something like that.

And how would that work given that whenever I start ME3 from it's file, Origin boots itself up and the game automatically launches through it.

Unless there's a way to bypass Origin entirely and just run the game as is?

I have similar problems, and I just shut the process (ME3) down in the Taskmanager - Then start it up again. And I repeat said process until it does work =)

Occasionally I'll see a reg.exe process pop up in the Taskmanager - Or even multiple versions of it.. Those occasionally prevent the game from launching, so I shut them down too.

So the thing here is to rinse and repeat right? cancel in task manager and rerun?

dont ask why, but whenever i try to launch from Origin it first gives me an error message and the game never launches, however with a shortcut error doesnt appear....

Origin is just so damn buggy.

The best I have been able to do is kill the idle task in task manager and keep trying. When it does this, I can usually get the game to start after about 4 attempts. Irritating. My version is the N7 Edition installed from physical media.

Think ive found a loophole.
Log into Origin but change it to appear offline under settings, then launch the game.
After its launched just go back online on orign and bam your in.
Hope this helps.
