 I'm starting DA2 completely over and I'm not sure if I should be a Mage since I prefer that class over the other two or play as a Rogue simply because I prefer Bethany over Carver.  What did you guys do?

The mage armor is nicer in the armor pack 1 and the rogue armor is nicer in the armor pack 2.

I could really care less about the DLC armor since I like the champion armor so much better.

That is my ideal DA2 game, its sad that I have to choose between playing my 2nd favorite class in DA2 or having an ungrateful brother.

Anyway to the original question - I prefer the class to companion still.

I'm trying both classes out in the final battle with my rogue Hawke, since its been forever since I played the game. Switching between both Bethany and Hawke to see which is better.

Edit: I guess I like them both equally.  Time to make a mage Hawke, but I guess my rogue will be my main Hawke and will continue the story.  She and my Warden are going to hate each other since my Hawke wiped out Merrill's clan...and the Warden is from the Dalish Elf Origin.  Now...do I make Carver a Templar or a Grey Warden....hmm...

On the plus side, you can bring Carver to the Deep Roads and watch him die.
