How come you have support for the xbox 360 gamepad on your new game KINGDOMS OF AMALUR: RECKONING, but do not have it for Dragon Age Orgins, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, and Mass Effect 2

Why are you asking *US*, as if *WE* had anything to do with it?

Not to mention that KoA is a brand-new platform, while all the others are based on ones three-five years old. Posted Image
No one at BioWare is going to retro-fit an older game-engine and/or interface for controllers. Posted Image

I did contact EA support, they directed me to this forum, you directed back them, guess noboby wants to give me an answer, mass effect 3 just came out, dragon age 2 came out last year, not really 5 years for those 2,  so nevermind, skip the question, I would not mention it again

But the game engines that drive them are much older than that.
And it's at that level something like a controller has to be integrated. Posted Image

ME1 and ME2 work fine with the Xbox360 controller on PC using the modded coalesced.ini. Everything required to support the controller is in the PC version of the game, all remnants from the Xbox360 version in fact. In ME2 the game menus actually display the Xbox360 controller prompts.

I think this is because ME was originally an Xbox360 exclusive game that was later ported to PC.

As for ME3, nobody has figured out how to properly hack the coalesced.ini to fully enable gamepad support.

I don't know about Dragon Age or DA2. Even though both games had console ports, I don't know if there's anything internal to support the controller in the PC versions.

Bioware just refuses to devote any time to gamepad support on PC even though it's been requested many many times. It's quite frustrating.

Note: to save time for anyone who would post the standard response of "blah blah the game was designed for kb+m, why would you want a gamepad?" or "Just buy the console version if you want a gamepad" - go away. The world is a varied, diverse place, not everyone is the same. We all have our reasons for wanting to play PC games with a gamepad, and just because you can't imagine why others like myself want gamepad support doesn't mean our request for it is any less valid.

Personally I prefer to play games like this from my comfy couch on my flatscreen TV with 7.1 surround sound on my HTPC with a GTX 670 video card with high res texture packs, FSAA on high and at over 60fps constant - something an Xbox or PS3 can't quite handle.
