I bought a new 360 controller at xmas and when i bought mass effect 3 earlier thismonth i've found that  my shepard drifts to the left which is really annoying especeially when in cover.
i also find it does exactley the same thing in mass effect 2! and as it doesnt do this in any other game i'm guessing that bioware has set the dead zone too low.
this should be a really easy fix and is totally ruining the game for me (as well as the lack of face import) i would even be happy with the ending if this got fixed.
just wondering if this is a common problem, or if theres another fix as i cant afford yet another pad.

In my experience it tends to be a common issue with controllers (be they new or old).

The deadzone issue seems to affect BioWare games more than others. Certainly seems to be the case with ME2, DA:O and ME3. Not sure about ME though as I can't remember, or even DA2 as that's a title I don't have on the 360. Surprising they didn't code it differently this time.

I had to buy a new joypad because of this problem. It wasn't that much of an issue in most games but it made ME2 almost unplayable with Shepard constantly slooooooowly walking forwards or moving around in cover when I least expected it. It was a bit of a bollocks really having to buy a joypad because of one series of games.

It's the one problem with the 360 controllers. Mine started doing that somewhere around year 2.

It's also pretty bad in Battlefield 3.

my 1st pad was great never noticed any probs with dead zone, but it died (i think because i used a cheapo recharge pack).
so the problem is definately the new pad, but ive tried it with all my other games and its fine apart from what i mentioned: ME2&3.
bizarre. its such a small issue yet it totally ruins any immersion in the game when shepard slides very fast to the other side of the cover when im not even touching the pad

I have experienced this all the time.
New controller (silver one which can switch the D pad) but same problem which seemed to start in ME2 and continued into ME3
No other game I have played has this issue
