In my current Adept run, I go with Liara and Garrus/James. Amazing combo also, and I agree with Kronner, biotic bomb every 2 seconds rocks the house :-)

I also go Liara Garrus too.  Stasis from Liara is very useful and Garrus uses a Widow and has Overload.  I also take Drain Shield. Is there a better way to deal with shield from the extra abilities?

Two stasis is better than one. But I have a weird build with my Shepard since I go either +40% shields and +10% power reduction or +30% shields + 10% shield regen speed + 10% cooldown reduction, so I have no need for energy drain to restore shields. The problem with Liara for me is that she is flimsy as wet tissue paper and she gets one shot by Ravagers.

To be honest you don't need Javik or Liara in the party to have Biotic Explosions every 2 seconds since Warp's Cooldown with Combo Mastery is like 1.9 without any cooldown reduction from armor and is 2.08 without any intel upgrades. I personally pick Garrus and Ashley since with Disrupter Ammo + Armor Piercing Ammo with a particle beam means they pretty much melt Banshees and that's the only very dangerous enemy in Insanity and only during the last rush when you get charged by 3-4 of them.

Tali is better in missions where there is a lot of close combat, while EDI is much more useful in missions where combat is more open.

They can both work off themselves and each other.  Liara can detonate her Singularity and Stasis with Warp, while Javik can detonate his Dark Channel and Pull with Slam.  Mix and match as you see fit.

There are few fights on insanity where such things matter, and everything else is easy - so just take anyone you like.

You're better off using Liara and Javik  (assuming you have the From Cashes dlc). Liara Warp-throw, Javik dark channel-throw. Rinse and repeat: Biotic chain-explosions. Javik's dark channel also spreads to nearby targets after first one dies. Boom. Follow-up with another biotic explosion.

Warp or dark embrace + throw is much more powerful than overload, and even works against shielded targets.

Wait, what is dark embrace?  Why do I not know about this power, what does it do?  Is it a secret power you unlock from Javik apart from dark channel>?

Tali is better to use when your facing Geth or Cerberus. EDI is better to use against Reaper forces.

EDI is a keeper. Her Overload is great for shields, but her Incinerate utterly decimates huge amounts of armor when leveled as such. She's a banshee killer.

And her energy drain is good for when banshees have their barriers still.

I prefer EDI over Tali as a squadmate in ME3, honestly. But then again, my main Shep is an engineer, so I really don't need Tali's overload or drones. However, even if I wasn't an engineer, I still think I'd prefer EDI because of incinerate, energy drain, and decoy.

If you're not playing on insanity, you will do fine with anybody in the team. I find Liara + Javik, Liara + EDI, or Javik + EDI the most useful, with Garrus in instead of EDI occasionally. But that's just my opinion. No need to go spreading it around. :P

Ok - I take it back. Check THIS out from the Mass Effect wiki:

EDI

EDI's powers make her a strong contender for the title of "best tank". Her class power, Unshackled AI, provides substantial benefits to her shields, health, and power damage. By focusing on defenses, she can potentially have +120% shields and health by rank 4. Defensive Matrix boosts her defenses even further, and can be purged to restore her shield. Decoy keeps attacks from even hitting her. Add all that together, and you have a character who can handle tremendous punishment on the frontlines.

The weapon options for EDI are SMG and heavy pistol, so EDI's offensive punch is largely based on judicious use of her powers. Thanks to Unshackled AI's massive accumulation of bonuses to power damage, EDI's Overload will devastates shields and barriers, while Incinerate will ravage health and armor. Note, however, that the Unshackled AI class power does not provide any power recharge reduction, and utilizing Defensive Matrix will slow power cooldowns even further, so her offensive strikes require proper timing.

Tali'Zorah vas Normandy

Thanks to the addition of a few new and improved abilities, Tali is far more flexible than in the second game. Overall, Tali functions similarly to the Engineer class. Her Energy Drain ability enables her to strip away enemy shields and barriers while recharging her own shields, and Sabotage is useful for disabling enemy weapons as well as turning enemy synthetics against each other! Tali's Combat Drone is useful for distracting enemies such as Atlas Mechs and Guardians. Her Defense Drone complements her close combat capabilities even further.

Tali is most effective when used against the Geth or Cerberus. Sabotage is particularly useful for turning Turrets, Geth Primes, and Atlas Mechs against their own. That being said, Tali is more than capable of dealing with Reaper enemies; her Energy Drain can be invaluable against Marauders and Banshees. Tali is best paired with a squadmate who can counter armor such as EDI, Kaidan, or Liara.

Moreso than other squadmates, Tali can be difficult to manage. There is no way to know if her drones have been destroyed or whether you simply can't spot them at the moment. Although it is generally far more effective to manually control squadmate powers, in Tali's case it may be more prudent to turn automatic power usage back on when she's on the team.

EDI and Liara for Adepts, EDI, especially with her armor activated just fries all shields.

For everything but Geth missions, I prefer EDI. Her incinerate tears through about everything, and her Decoy is great for heavy enemies.

If target has red bar, Liara singularity then Shep throw or Javik pull then shep throw. If armor/shields/barrier, Liara Warp then Shep throw or Javik Dark Channel then Shep throw. Fairly simplified but effective.

EDI works better with Kaidan imo, I prefer Incinerate + Cryo explosion rather than the Sabotage + Overload combo... But as many has said here, bringing Kaidan already fills your Overload requirement, another Biotic squad member like Javik/Liara will probably suits an Adept better.

Tali/Garrus > EDI solely because of DPS
I give Garrus a revenant and a javelin or widow and Tali gets a hurricane and a GPS or other godly shotgun. This alone makes them overall more useful since they can actually damage a tough enemy and really help thin out large mobs of mooks.

Okay, just beat Adept Insanity.

Health: Pull/Throw
Shields: Stasis/Warp (Take Liara and get Stasis Bubble)
Barrier: Warp/Throw
Armor: Warp/Throw

I kill Banshees and Brutes in 3 or 4 hits.

Well, not that you really need one of them, but I would always choose Tali.
EDI is more durable and has some good lines on missions, but her cooldowns are way to long to be useful.

Tali on the other hand has very short cd´s. Short enough for a sabotage+energy drain combo on her own.
The drone is more flexible than decoy and sabotage is a runner for the most op power in the game. Not only vs cerberus or Geth, but against anything with a gun.
Use it on Marauders or Canibals and watch them nearly die from the backfire (on insanity). The 100% tech power works on every enemy and is just icing on the cake.

i find i blow the hell out of everything being the lone adept, i could barely stand it if i took liara and javik. ive used both and liara makes me feel like an idiot adept. javik is ok in combat but has redundant abilities and i just get sick of his attitude.

ive mainly tried useing garrus and ashley, or garrrus and who the hell ever. i wish garrus had an ammo power that coused minor CC like the rest of em. idk i just like taking tech and combat based classes. maybe insanity gameplay would make bioexclusive more meaningfull but i prefer to do it all on my own.
