Meer has a natural soldier-ish voice, and it worked well. He didn't need to force it.

I'm playing through my FemShep now, and while she's a good VA I find she's trying way too hard to sound 'badass', and adding a sort of raspyness to the end of literally almost every line. It drives me insane. Now that I've noticed it, I hear it in everything!

Just my opinion though.

I honestly thought the other way around. It sounded like Meer was trying to sound too much like a badass. Nothing against him though, broshep still sounded awesome, but as a femshep I think Hale rocked it. She was emotional when she needed to be, yet very commanding when Shepard needed to be a badass.

IMHO Hale's voice acting is SO much better, but I prefer to play the male Shepard.

Personally I think Maleshep is the better paragon, but that the Femsheps plays as the better renegade.
But that is just my opinion, no need to go spreading it around.

I love her voice and how she did FemShep and I wouldn't touch BroShep even with a stick ...

Just my optionion though.

Yeah, she does that since ME2.

I like her and i let her finish, but Meer is still best Shepard out there.

Male shep has the best voice. Fem shep aint bad though. Her level of badass is kinda forced though, making renegade options sometimes seem more in character.

Can't we just stop all the "this voice actor is better then this one" crap, it's all a matter of prefernce.

I prefer Hale's voice to Meer for one reason: She doesn't sound like she just got the script and she's reading it... slowly

Both are excellent. I've only played part way with femshep so far so I can't judge the whole game but Meer took it up a notch and was at his best in this game.

I prefer Meer's voice. Hale is miles ahead of him in delivery though, she does the lines amazing. Her voice just bothers me, it sounds like she has chicken stuck in her throat to me. Meer does the lines kinda dull, but his voice fits shep

I kind of agree with you OP. I'm just playing through 1,2, and 3 with Fem-Shep for the first time, and I didn't notice a quality disparity between the two of them. *shrug*

No tali's voice was clearly the best in game.

I really like Jennifer Hale in some of her other roles; but I just find her Femshep voice to be.... irritating.
